'1940's Sonoma Cottage'
Cozy and charming cottage style 1940's home just 3 minute drive to the Sonoma Square! We are on Broadway (main street into Sonoma Plaza). Our property has 2 acres of Cabernet vines. The wrap-around deck is perfect for a relaxing cup of coffee in the morning or an afternoon BBQ. Both bedrooms have glass doors which open to the deck with vineyard views. We are fortunate to also have views of adjacent vineyards across the street from our property. This is a great property for entertaining both indoors and out. On weekends the vintage airplanes fly directly over our house which is quite a spectacular sight! Sonoma Valley offers lovely wineries, restaurants, boutique stores and great walking trails. If you are visiting during the weekday, the Farmer's Market in the Plaza is on Tuesday evening. You can shop the produce and flower vendors, enjoy great food and music while drinking a glass of wine. The kids will love Traintown, Peewee golf or playing in the square on the swings! Rent a bike and tour the local wineries and beautiful country scenery. We are approx. 1.5 miles south from Sonoma Plaza on Broadway (main street into the Plaza). San Francisco is less than an hour drive, Napa is 15-20 minutes away and Infineon Raceway is 15 minutes.

My wife and I found this to be the best place we've rented through VRBO (4 previously). Good location, excellent setup and very clean. Good for a couple of any age, two couples or a couple with up to two kids. Great deck and view of sunset over the mountains. Easy access to Sonoma, just 5 or so minutes. The entire Sonoma valley is just minutes away. Also Napa, but we picked Sonoma based on experience to avoid the traffic. The chilled champagne in the fridge was a great touch since our plane into SFO was three hours late. We will definitely return in the future.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This cottage was wonderful! Joanne is so gracious and has done such a lovely job with this space. It was impeccably furnished and extremely clean and comfortable. We loved the Sonoma location, with town just a mile or two down the road it was very easily drive-able. Our only regret of the vacation was that we did not have an extra day to spend just enjoying the cottage, playing the provided board games and drinking some of our new wine on the big porch. Would highly recommend this property. Thank you Joanne for helping to make our vacation so enjoyable!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hello Christie! Thank you so much for your wonderful review of our property! We enjoyed having you as our guests. Hopefully your next visit will be longer so that you are able to enjoy beautiful Sonoma Valley and the cottage! Warmest regards, Joanne :)

This is a great place to stay for a Sonoma Visit. Very quiet and private, nicely appointed with clean linens and comfortable beds. The wrap around deck is great for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful mornings and evenings. Easy in-and out parking - even the limo had no trouble. Thanks Joanne for a nice experience.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: James & Jeanine, Thank you for your kind words! I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the cottage and I agree with you...the beds are very comfortable!! We look forward to you visiting us again. Many smiles, Joanne

What a charming cottage! The pictures do not lie - very cute, clean, and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. Lots of veggies and herbs still growing in the garden which we were invited to use. Being just outside Sonoma, it was quiet. And we had a nice view of the hills and vineyards. The owner, Joanne, was most gracious and welcoming. She was wonderful to work with. The restaurant, A Girl and A Fig, was recommended to us. We went there and had a fabulous meal. Not cheap, but well worth it.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We were 2 couples to rent the cottage and none of us were disapointed . We were all comfortable and also appreciated Joanne garden. Joanne did everything to make us comfortable including having a bottle of bubbly in the fridge when we arrived. The cottage was immaculate and decorated with taste. The location is great for visiting vineyards and for shopping for food. Would go back and recommend it without hesitation, cheers, Josée and Daniel from Ottawa CanadaRecommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Greetings Josee and Daniel. Thank you for your wonderful comments! It was a delight having you as our guests! Perhaps my husband and I will see you on the slopes of Mont-Sainte-Anne this winter! Many thanks, Joanne

The Sonoma cottage is so very comfortable & laid out so nice. The location is great being close to shops & restaurants & , of course, many wineries. The description & pictures on the website were quite accurate. The beds were wonderful, & the property was very clean & maintained. The huge deck was perfect for relaxing, reading, & eating. One cannot forget the beautiful flower & vegetable gardens & the grapes in the backyard. It was a pleasure visiting & working with Joanne. She responded quickly to our inquiry about the property & was very helpful answering all of our questions. Thanks again for your wonderful hospitality, the chilled champagne, & most of all the bright & clean cottage. We definitely recommend this vacation home.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Fantastic stay. Lots of unexpected extras- bottle of wine chilled on arrival, vegetable and herb garden and fruit trees available for us to use. We were 2 couples and the cottage gave us privacy as well as communal areas in which to socialize. Communication with the owner was always prompt and extremely helpful.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

we were very satisfied with this place. it was very clean and beautifully decorated. there were a bunch of trees in the backyard (figs, pomegranate, walnut) and vegetables (tomatoes, peppers, basil). the landlady left a note saying that we can enjoy them, which was very sweet. the owner is a very kind and nice woman; she clearly thought of everything to make our stay very pleasant. there is only one drawback to this place, which is that it is off from a major road. it was a little noisy, but it did not bother us much. (it may be an issue for people who are very sensitive to noise) I would stay there again without a doubt.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed in this “charming 1940’s cottage” for a weekend wine country getaway with our daughter. A short drive to historic Sonoma Plaza, it was an ideal base for touring the vineyards and enjoying the excellent restaurants the area offers. The cottage is comfortable and well-appointed, from the well-equipped kitchen to extra towels and a nice collection of books. We enjoyed the relaxing views of the adjoining vineyard and the rolling hills of Sonoma from the expansive deck. Joanne, the owner, was very helpful with dining recommendations -the girl and the fig and Della Santina are both special places. Joanne made us feel completely at home, including welcoming touches such as her invitation to sample the ripening tomatoes, peppers and herbs in the lovely seasonal garden. We recommend this property highly and hope to make this our "home away from home" on a future visit to the wine country.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this cute Sonoma cottage. It was in a great location - close to golf, wine tasting, restaurants and shops, and set right next to the property's own rows of vines! It was truly like walking into a home that the owner had just stepped out of (in a good way!) - all the little things you often need but have forgotten or didn't know you needed were there and available for our use. We spent a lot of time on the great porch drinking coffee in the morning, staring out at the vines. It is a cozy cottage but just right for a few nights getaway to show some out of towners wine country on more than a day trip. Can't wait to return!Owner response: Greetings Stephanie. I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay. It really makes me happy to know that the effort we put into making the cottage feel homey is appreciated by our guests! Please visit us again. Many smiles, Joanne
