What a location! This beautiful new home is an inholding inside a 1900 acre state park. There are six bedrooms. The master suite has a king bed, four bedrooms have queens and a large media room (14 by 30) has 3 futons. There is another futon in the reading nook and a sleeper sofa in the game room. The master suite has its own private deck and so does three other bedrooms. There are six full and one half baths. Four of the six bedrooms have their own complete private full bath! You will have your own private wooded cove and dock.
This home is ideal for family vacations, business meetings and reunions but not parties.
The top entrance level is handcaped friendly with entrance ramp, all doors 36 inch wide and the walk-in master shower is approximately 5 by 8 feet.
The beautiful wooded park that surrounds you has a swimming area, free boat launch, community building that will hold over 100 people (ideal for weddings and business meetings), picnic shelters, mountain bike and hiking trails, canoe and paddle boat rentals. Jack, the owner, was gracious enough to meet us at his property so we could meet him in person....he's an interesting guy! Have you checked out his profile? He answered all our questions & we were able to have a personal tour since he was in the area. The house is beautiful & suited our needs perfectly. Our family traveled from Maryland, Georgia, Alabama & 2 different cities in NC to meet at this home for a belated Christmas gathering. The master bedroom is on the main floor & since my husband & I booked the property, we got to use the master, BUT my 85 year old mother got to use the other bedroom on the main floor so she didn't have to use the stairs to access the other floors & bedrooms. That worked perfectly, as she also had a bathroom directly across from her bedroom. The other 2 floors that housed the bedrooms & the game room & reading nook made it nice for privacy sake & just spreading out from each other...even though we were there for a family gathering! :) The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals & we especially liked the bird feeder attached on the dining room window as we got to watch many varieties of birds up close. The media room wasn't complete for our visit-we got to see it though & that will be a great addition for future family gatherings. I would totally recommend this house to make your own awesome family memories!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

The 5 bedroom house is beautiful and has a wonderful setting among the trees on a finger of Lake Norman. Our family of 5 adults and 3 children were very comfortable and enjoyed our time there among nature. We made use of the kayaks and swimming as well as hiking trails.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

We recently rented the home for a family reunion. We had a delightful visit. The listing description and photos all did a good job of describing the home accurately. If anything, the home is larger than it appears in the listing. There's a great little reading nook between the middle level bedrooms. There's a game table in the game room, in addition to the pool table. With three levels, multiple decks, the lake, and the game room, everyone had space to spread out and activities to stay entertained. The kitchen table is much larger than it appears in the photo, which was excellent for seating at meal time. The open kitchen/living room combination is ideal for coming together. The master suite and bathroom are enormous. We also enjoyed an added surprise of having access to two kayaks for use during our stay. Children and adults alike all enjoyed the boats. The cove is very nice and private for swimming. The owner was very helpful and responsive at all times. Plenty of extra linens were available, and little extras were in the entire house (like cooking spices, soap and other toiletries). Given the price of the home, there are a few areas that need improvement. An exterminator is definitely needed for the bugs that were especially bothersome in the basement level. A cleaning service would also be a benefit. We spent a significant amount of time trying to clean and get out by 10 am, and that was difficult to accomplish in such a large home when you allow time to pack, too. We definitely left the home cleaner than we found it. I swept the basement several times during our stay and killed bugs there often. Internet access did not work during our visit, which meant my husband had to return home to work and cut his time with our family short. All-in-all, the home is very secluded, spacious, and serene. We enjoyed the treehouse feel and seeing deer daily. With minor adjustments (exterminator, cleaning service, and internet access), the home would be ideally suited for future vacations and gatherings.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, people with disabilities, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Rates
High season is April 1 through September 15. Rates for high season and hoidays are $650 per night, 2,3 night minimum, $600 per night for 4 nights or more. Low season rates are $550 per night, 2 night minimum, $500 per night for 4 nights or more. There is a cleaning fee of $250 and a $89 insurance policy added to each rental. Half the payment is due upon booking with the balance due 60 days prior to occupancy.

He has worked as a tour guide on cruise boats in Alaska and on the Columbia River. Currently he is a world wide nature guide and has led 15 groups to Africa, and has led groups to New Zealand, Costa Rica, France, Thailand, British Virgin Islands, Newfoundland, western United States national parks and many other locations.
