My husband and I spent our honeymoon at the pineapple house! Our expectations were exceeded. The owners Mike and Nancy were more than accomodating to some very specific needs we had. We enjoyed the outside shower after a hot day in the sun. One thing that was really nice was the fact that we had access to a washer and dryer, this way I could keep up with our laundry and I didn't have a lot to do when I got home from vacation. The house is close to everything which made it easy to get to local restaurants and the beach. I have nothing negative to say about our stay. I know we will be back for future visits with our families. Also, we received our deposit back in a timely manner which was very nice. This is a pet friendly rental which is very important to us because our dogs are like family to us and they go where we go. The description was accurate, as were the pictures. The property was clean as well as the poolRecommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

This house is listed having 2 full bathrooms. It actually has 1 full bathroom---the other is a half bath (toilet and sink) that is in the outside laundry room and the other shower is OUTSIDE. The dishwasher is the kind you have to roll up and hook up to the kitchen faucets. Great location and beautiful pool area. The owners are lovely and helpful. The property was clean and neat. I would not stay there again because the bathroom situation is not easy to live with for more than 2 people.Owner response: The bathrooms are exactly as represented in the pictures & description of the property. We have had groups of up to 11 people (including 8 teenage girls) who had no problem with the sleeping or bathroom accomodations. Most people appreciate the 2nd bathroom & outdoor shower being easily accessible from the pool area as well as the bedroom area sleeping 4+. The portable dishwasher works well & is full-size, & exactly the sort I was so thankful for when my parents purchased it in my teenage years, since I was the primary dishwasher up until then.

The house is well located and clean. The kitchen is small and a bit unconventional but clean. The pool was great and the price for what we got was fair.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

My family has enjoyed the Pineapple House for the past two years! Every time we come away refreshed and renewed from our relaxed vacation. The grandchildren love coming back in the afternoon from being at the ocean and taking a dip in the beautiful pool. The house’s layout is so accommodating for everyone to find a place to rest and relax after an exciting day in NSB. We have our calendar already booked and are looking forward to our next visit to the Pineapple House.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

We had the opportunity to stay at the Pineapple House for a week and fell in love with not only it, but New Smyrna Beach as well. Owners, Mike & Nancy are gracious and wonderful hosts. Perfect house for a family, casual, comfortable and sparkling clean. Great family friendly beach and a sweet little town with a nice mix of local shops. Outdoor shower is awesome, would love to go back someday.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

I absolutely LOVE the Pineapple Compound. I have stayed there many times and it is hands-down my favorite place to stay. The house is so welcoming and charming and you can't ask for a better locale. My only complaint is I can't go there as often as I would like!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

My husband and I have actually stayed at the Pineapple House several times. The street is quiet, there is ample parking, the pool is WONDERFUL, the house itself is comfortable and inviting. The town is a marvelous little beach town, lovely main street with cute shops and boutiques - really good restaurants (my personal favorite is The Garlic). What needs to be said about New Smyrna Beach? - stunning, and within walking distance from the house. The location was perfect for us to be away from the hustle-bustle of Daytona Beach and Orlando, but still close enough for day trips and sightseeing. The Owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We would not only recommend it as a lovely vacation destination, but will definately be going again ourselves.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

About the owner: My husband & I lived in Annapolis, MD for 20 years before moving full time to New Smyrna Beach. We are both retired medical professionals & have a large family of 6 children & 9 grandchildren (so far). We are happy to have a comfortable & fun place our family loves to visit!

My husband & I visited friends in New Smyrna Beach many times over several years & gradually fell in love with the charming, quaint, retro 70s New Smyrna Beach. It is such a family friendly town & beach--the most spectacular (& drive on) beach we've ever been to! We have been fortunate to travel to many places, including Europe, but our little oasis, The Pineapple Compound, is our favorite place in the world.

Most of our family & friends say the OUTSIDE SHOWER (totally private) is one of their favorite features of The Pineapple House. Children love trying to count up all the PINEAPPLES they can find in the house (decor, pictures, pillows, etc). The pristine, flat & user-friendly BEACH is another favorite. Of course everyone loves chilling in the POOL--morning, noon & night!
