Pacific Heights cottage-like condo in old Victorian – walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars, and public transportation.
3 miles to fisherman’s wharf,
3 miles to golden gate bridge,
2 miles to golden gate park,
2 miles to union square.
Charming two bedroom condo that feels more like a cottage. Close to everything, but set back from the road to give you privacy and security. Just a few short (and Flat!) blocks to famous Fillmore Street with its great boutiques, restaurants and bars. Who needs a car when you are this close to so many main bus lines to take you to Union Square for some shopping, the Mission District for burritos, and Fisherman’s Wharf for the city’s famous tourist attractions? But if you do decide you’d like a car, street parking is not terribly challenging in this neighborhood.
Two bedrooms, each with a queen-sized bed. One bathroom with a shower over a claw foot tub. Eat in kitchen. Cozy living room with gas fireplace. Gated property.

Pros: Great location close to everything we needed; beautiful, fresh flowers and personalized note waiting upon our arrival. One bedroom had a Tempurpedic bed. Flexible with our departure time. Felt very safe walking back from Cow Hollow (approx 1 mile) at night in a group. We took the bus to get everywhere, and it was very accessible. Cons: Lived-in environment with personal belongings in cupboards, shower, and refrigerator/freezer - not sure what was able to be used by guests. Second bedroom did not have box springs under a worn mattress. Paid $100 cleaning fee but had to strip beds and take out our trash and recycling on departure. Did not utilize back patio because it was cluttered and did not look maintained. Description said parking was easy but had to park 2 streets away when we arrived. Fortunately we did not have car during trip - street signs noted a 2 hr parking limit. If returning to San Francisco, I would return to the Pacific Heights area but would try to find lodging with better amenities for an equivalent price that was exclusively used as a rental. It felt that this apartment was someone's home, and we were intruding.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

From the start, the communication was great and the information sent was great. We even arrived early with no problem! The house was just as described, and the photos are very accurate (although the "front of house" photo is not the actual unit you stay in - you stay in a first floor location tucked toward the rear of the house). The owner left a great guide that details all the necessary information about the house and the surrounding neighborhoods (Lower Pacific Heights). What we really enjoyed most was the location. It was close to everything. We could walk to four or five different bus lines within one to four blocks. We walked to the Fillmore Jazz Festival. We walked to Alta Plaza park to let our daughter play on the playground and the dog run around with other dogs. The house came with all the necessary essentials in every room. The kitchen was very small, but we found everything we needed to prepare meals and make coffee! The small TV was in one of the bedrooms, but that was of little concern because we didn't even use it since we were out for the majority of the day. The wifi worked flawlessly. The backyard, while in need of some landscaping and updating of furniture, was sufficient for relaxing or letting the dog out to pee. The fireplace and the washer/dryer were bonuses for the place! Parking does not come with unit (as is outlined by listing), but it wasn't that hard to find either. There are plenty of places to leave your car for several days without having to move it every two hours. You just have to be willing to walk a bit. Finally, our deposit was refunded quickly (within 24/48 hours of departure)! I'd highly recommend this place to people looking for a charming and cool two bedroom apartment in a fantastic location. You'll stay cozy, and you'll feel like you're centrally located. You can literally see every part of SF by using MUNI from this place!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, pet owners.

We stayed here while visiting from London on holiday last Spring. My husband's uncle, who lives in San Fran, suggested we use a vacation rental instead of a hotel. What a charming find this place is!!! It is centrally located to great shoppes and restaurants, all within walking distance. Public transport is easily accessible. We particularly loved it's proximity to the 24 bus line which, in one direction, brings you over the steep hills of Pacific Heights, into the Marina and Golden Gate Bridge area. In the other direction, the line takes you within a short walking distance of Golden Gate Park. My husband's Uncle had suggested looking into rentals closer to downtown as well. I'm so glad we didn't rent there. This place was quiet and cozy and even has a lovely backyard (which our young daughter loved.) I didn't realize that San Francisco is only 7 miles by 7 miles and downtown is just a few minutes via bus. (I'm used to London-sized cities I guess.) There are several markets within walking distance and the kitchen is up to date with great appliances, so no need to eat out. (But it's San Francisco after all, so we couldn't help ourselves.) The washer/dryer was also a wonderful luxury. We didn't rent a car, so I can't speak to the parking, but the street is quiet and seemed like parking wasn't an issue. All in all, a lovely experience.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

After being away from the city for almost three years (I lived in SF years ago), what a treat it was to make this spot my home base for a return visit. The apartment is in a great spot - centrally located and near enough to a lot of fun spots (restaurants on Divisadero, Western Addition, California etc.) - yet in a leafy, green area with a ton of charm and very little city noise (a really nice place to come home to after touring around town). The apartment is well appointed (I needed nothing) and full of character - the owner has a really funky, fun style and takes great care of the place. The central living room with the adjoining kitchen is a great, welcoming spot to entertain. The bedrooms are comfy and the bathroom (and everything else) clean as well. The backyard area was a nice surprise - great for a bbq or just to laze a bit with a book. With the electric gate out front, the place feels really safe too. No parking spot but street parking was surprisingly easy to find. Oh, and there were laundry facilities - bonus! All in all - I'd definitely recommend it. Owner was great to deal with as well.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
