we found the trappers cabin to be even better than advertised; the kitchen has everything imaginable so its almost like cooking from home. The cabin was immaculate and tastefully decorated with such a warm "log cabin" atmosphere that made us wish it would rain so we could justify sitting inside all day! its a beautiful property so we enjoyed some great outdoor time, including a campfire with smores; thanks to the lovely surprise left by the host family. We loved it and plan to return.

Owner response: You know, when I am preparing the cabin for guests, I try to think of what it is that makes the "comfort" factor and hope that I cover the mark hoping to help make their stay relaxing and stress free. I want all my guests to leave with a feeling that they really did just enjoy a vacation. By the way, if ever there is a time to be at the cabin, it's the autumn season - the daytime temps are still quite enjoyable, the nights nice and crisp, and the fall color display is just spectacular! Please, look us up if you can come our way again. Cheers!
We had a fabulous time. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and with plenty of amenities. Remote, secluded, and tranquil, it is the perfect place for some quiet R&R, but not too far from Bigfork, Whitefish, and Glacier National Park. Can't wait to go back!

Everything you could hope for in a Montana vacation!
Everything you could hope for in a Montana vacation!
This is the third time we have stayed at the Trapper's Cabin and my family always cherishes our time there and talks about it incessantly afterward! It is the perfect location situated between the Mission Mountains and the Swan Mountaiins. The hiking around the area cannot be beat and we definitely have acquired our favorites...Glacier Lake, Holland Falls and the Cold Lakes are all phenomenal choices. Big Fork and Flathead State Park are a few of our other things on the "must do" list. Furthermore, Darla is the most gracious host and the cabin lacks for nothing! We ended up with car trouble on our last full day at the cabin and Darlla's family put off their own vacation to the cabin just to accomodate us! Not many people would do that! I dream of hearing Piper Creek while I lay in bed in Michigan...so relaxing...and running with my dog along the dirt roads while my husband fishes the Swan river. I cannot say enough good things about this cabin and the Cottons...you will not be disappointed! Thanks for another great trip!
