My family and I rented this house for a mini-vacation and were absolutely thrilled with the location, the house itself and the view! There were six of us, only one of whom was under 18, and there was plenty of room between the bedrooms, living room, dining room, porch, etc for everyone to spread out and have quiet time reading their books (or Kindle....lol). The dining room was the perfect place for family games at night. I absolutely loved the porch! Every morning I would sit out on the porch with my cup of coffee, my book and just enjoy the quiet of the neighborhood and view of the ocean. The kitchen was very nicely stocked although we didn't use it except for light breakfast and lunch. We were within walking distance of Short Sands beach and absolutely loved the beach cart and umbrella that was provided! We absolutely loved it and didn't want to leave!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

Shared this house with two friends for a long weekend. It is right near the beach and has a huge porch with gas grill. We had a huge number of friends and family members staying at a nearby hotel, so we used the house to entertain pretty much every day. It was perfect. As you can see from the pics, it is not a luxury rental--it's an older house. But everything works, it's really comfortable and inviting, and you can't beat the location. We plan to come back next year.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+.

Loved "High Tide" beach house which was stocked with everything we needed for a fun and comfortable stay at York Beach. Within easy walking distance to Short Sands and the shoppes. Nicely furnished and HUGE deck for the family to gather for barbeques with the large gas grill that the owners have considerately supplied. They even have toys for the kids to play with...including boogie boards and beach toys too. VERY nice rental! Our thanks to the owners - we will definitely book "High Tide" again!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

About the owner: We live just over the border in New Hampshire but love to play at York Beach. We formed Periwinkle Properties LLC when we purchased this set of three houses in the spring of 2012. Periwinkle combines our interest in fixing up older houses, summers at the beach and meeting new people. 'Hidden Treasure', 'Breakwater' and 'High Tide' are all part of Periwinkle and available for rent individually or as a package.
