La Ferme de Boyer combines the ultimate in French lifestyle with traditional country house comfort. Stay in the original farmhouse, with the possibility of occasional dinners prepared by Harriet, who is a Cordon Bleu-trained cook.
The farmhouse, built in 1790, is typical of the country houses here in the beautiful rolling landscape of the Ariège in the Midi-Pyrénées. You will be awed by the beauty of this special place as you drive up the tree-lined entrance and park under the stately shade trees.
There is a a delightful Swimming Pool (8m x 4m) set in our large garden with plenty of shade, and woodland walks with stunning views of the Pyrénées.
Ferme Boyer is situated 3 Kms west of Mirepoix, a lovely relaxed southern medieval town, which comes to life on market days and has a choice of shops, including an excellent supermarket and several cafés and restaurants in all prices categories.
The arcaded main market square, surrounded by timbered 13th century houses, also has country antiques and pottery shops. And the cathedral boasts one of the largest naves in all of Europe.
The farmhouse has 2 large bedrooms, both equipped with hairdryers and minibar. The Red Room has a king-size bed and en-suite bathroom with bath, shower, WC and hand basin. The twin-bedded room has en-suite shower, WC and hand basin
Welcome pack with home-made jams and local wine is included.

This is a beautiful French property that more than exceeded the description advertised. It was clean and well maintained and the room was well suited to our requirements. Robert and Harriet could not have been more helpful and thanks to there excellent advice we were able to enjoy a good mix of the areas attractions. Harriet's cooking made every meal a memorable occasion and they were great company with a wealth of experiences to share. We will return for sure.Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+, sightseeing.

We stayed for 5 nights in this charming French farmhouse and the only bad part was leaving! Robert and Harriet were extremely welcoming and accommodating. We stayed in the self-contained apartment (which is actually the original farmhouse), which is chock full of character. Massive wood beams and wonky floors make you realize that you're staying an original farmhouse hundreds of years old. The apartment is not luxurious but perfectly comfortable, and the beds, pillows, and linens are excellent as some of the other reviewers have mentioned. Harriet is a wonderful cook and prepared a delicious meal for us one evening. She refused to charge us for my 4-year old daughter's dinner even though she was served the same amount of food as the rest of us! Every morning we were served breakfast outside in the garden, with fresh bread that Robert bought that morning. He would always bring a chocolate croissant as a treat for my daughter. Just can't say enough about how thoroughly pleased we were with our stay and especially with our hosts! The pool is good sized and gets a lot of sun during the day. We spent most of our time out there playing and relaxing. Great location for visiting nearby villages, and we had a few nice meals out in Mirepoix, just a couple of minutes away by car. We'd love to go back and the only thing we'd do differently next time is book a longer stay!Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

My wife and I have just returned from a vacation in France and are still marveling over the wonderful Ferme Boyer. Everything on the website was totally accurate and the place was even better than the photos. We loved lounging around the pool after a day of sightseeing and then relaxing over a glass of local wine. One of the owners is a fantastic cook and we thought our dinners there were the best of our entire trip through France. The beds are extremely comfortable and the house is immaculate. Mirepoix was a charming village and we enjoyed strolling around the town and chatting with the friendly shop keepers. We will definitely return next year.Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Comfortable, charming, clean, well located, we can't say enough good things about our stay here. Very near Mirepoix, a beautiful medieval town. Try to book your stay here to include a Monday, which is market day in Mirepoix, well worth doing. Within easy driving of Minerve and Carcassonne. Dinner was fabulous, and our bed was the most comfortable we had in a month of touring around France. Your hosts, Robert and Harriet, could not be more accommodating and helpful. We highly recommend this place.Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.
