Kennebunkport house description
During World War II, Freedom Farm served as a home for displaced persons from Eastern Europe. Many families came to Kennebunkport, lived and worked on the farm while acclimating to life in America, and then moved off the farm to start their new lives.
Today, only the barn remains standing, but includes a fully winterized three bedroom living space. The perfect mix of modern convenience and rustic country charm, Freedom Farm sits on five acres of private property and abuts the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust with its several hiking and mountain biking trails.
Just 2.8 miles down Goose Rocks Road to the soft sands of Goose Rocks Beach, 3.5 miles to the shops and restaurants of downtown Kennebunkport, and 4 miles to surfing at Kennebunk Beach; Freedom Farm is situated just outside the hustle and bustle of prime tourist tracks, but still in easy distance of it all.
The barn features three bedrooms - two with double beds, and one with a twin - to easily sleep five. There is also a Pack & Play available for smaller guests. Remaining living space includes a living room, dining room, and kitchen complete with dishwasher, washer, and dryer. The one bathroom includes both a tub, and stall shower. For entertainment there are two TVs with DVD players (one in the living room, one in the master bedroom), wireless Internet throughout, a stereo, and plenty of board games and puzzles for fun family nights.
Five acres of property includes a large yard with plenty of room for games, a fire pit, and picnic table. There is also a grill available for use. Please contact me for more information on this unique, historic treasure!

About the owner: I grew up in Connecticut but have been coming to Maine my entire life. After living all over New England, I eventually settled back here in Kennebunkport where I work in marketing for a local company. One of my favorite things to do in my free time is work on my home.
Why the Owner Chose Kennebunkport:
'People who love old houses look for fire places that work, wide board floors, small-paned windows, and low ceilings.' -Joyce Butler, Kennebunkport writer / historian
