Enjoyed our short stay in this cottage. Dianna was very helpful, bringing extra chairs for us to enjoy the outside. Cottage exactly as represented: clean, dog-friendly, on the water. We weren't at the cottage very much as were mainly in Chestertown at a farmer's market and concert; then in Rock Hall for a triathlon. Was a comfortable place to stay; not top-of-the-line or luxurious appointments, but fine for our family and the dogs. Lots of bugs in the air since we were close to the water - bring insect repellant. New microwave. Plenty of dishes, though short on sharp knives for chopping. Be sure to bring ice for beverages and bottled water as the well water turned gray as we used water for showers. Beds were comfortable; nice furniture in the family room. Everything we needed!

Owner response: Thank you so much for your review. I am so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay. Thank you for also letting me know about the knives. Not sure what happened to them. Last time I inventoried, there were plenty. I will have to check on them again to see what I have to replace. I will also get someone to look at the water conditioner. It sounds like it may not have been working properly. I hope to see you again in the future.

The cottage is very cute inside, very private, and has wonderful access to the marsh. I was most impressed by all the amenities - the owner has thought of everything you might need! We were treated to watching osprey nest on the edge of the property, and dined out in many fine restaurants. The cottage and the Chestertown area are both wonderful.

Owner response: I am so glad that you and your son had an enjoyable time. The Ospreys have officially taken up residence in the pole supplied by the utility co. They were trying to build in both places as of last Monday but, by Friday they were just concentrating on the new pole. Hopefully, now they can get down to having babies. I want to thank you for leaving the cottage immaculate. That was a nice surprise. I hope that you will think of us again in the future.

My husband and I stayed in late October. It was the perfect weekend getaway. The house was located in a beautiful and peaceful setting. The back of the home backed up to the water. There was a lovely dock that my husband and I spent many hours on relaxing with a few cold beers. The town is very close and has an adorable historic charm. The owners were very friendly and extremely accommodating. I would definitely recommend this little cottage to anyone.

Owner response: We are so glad you enjoyed yourself. Please think of us whenever you wish to get away again.

My husband and I spent a long weekend at this country cottage this past fall. We could not have asked for a more idyllic setting. We enjoyed sitting out on the dock with a glass of wine. My husband also enjoyed fishing from the dock. The house was conveniently located near town. We enjoyed shopping and the farmer's market on Saturday. There are also great restaurants nearby. We highly recommend staying here if you would like to be able to get away from it all while still being close to town. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. The even let us check out a little later on Monday. The property was nice and had plenty of room for our dog to run around outside. It was also nice to have access to a grill to barbeque so we did not need to eat out every day.

We spent the weekend here and for sure enjoyed the cottage. We did have some plumbing trouble, which we ended up having to resolve. This caused only minor trouble and overall we had a very nice stay. The kitchen is large and family friendly. By far that and the dock are the best features. I would love to have spent more time there.

Owner response: Thank you for your review, We are glad you had a good time and hope that you will think of us in the future. Thanks for the plunger too. This is an older house that has septic and can occasionally cause minor issues. It is unfortunate that we happened to be out when you called. Usually we are available to our guests in a matter of minutes(we are located around the corner.) Like when I brought you the iron & board when you requested one. On your next visit, you may want to consider the house on the river. For 2013 season we will have installed a brand new kitchen & eating area as well as renovating the family room that we hope to install a wet bar.

We rented the house for a weekend with a couple of friends as a place to stay for a wedding we were attending at a local vineyard. The rental was originally just an afterthought, but we ended up having a great time while we were there. The house was exactly as described and listing photos were accurate. It was a beautiful weekend, so we were able to enjoy some relaxation out on the dock. The owner was extremely accommodating to the point that one of us left our suit at the house when we left the property and she brought the suit home with her in order for us to pick it up. Couldn't have been more satisfied!

                      Year Purchased: 2005

About the owner: My husband and I were first introduced to the eastern shore by very good friends in 2000. We fell in love and purchased a boat, then a bigger boat, then a house, then a bigger house. We are there almost every weekend of the year. The house we live in now is just around the corner from this property. We have been married for 30+ years, have 2 girls, 2 son-in-laws and 1 grandchild so far. Both of us grew up in Delaware county, PA

                      Why the Owner Chose Chestertown:
This was the first home we bought on the eastern shore and I just cannot part with it. It is the perfect place for privacy, serenity, & relaxation. There are so many things to do between Chestertown & Rock Hall. There is always a festival or craft fair, waterman's days, Pirate's weekend(picture), Tea party, the best fireworks & some of the best restaurants in the area. We have had annual tenants for the last 4 years but, this year we wanted to try weekly rentals so that our children could have a place to stay occasionally. I know that you will fall in love with it just as we did.

The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
I remember how we used to go down to the dock with some snacks and a cool drink, watch the sun go down, watch all the wild life( ospry's ,eagles etc.), and feel completely alone with nature. Only during the winter months can you even see the property across the marsh. On any clear night, there are millions of stars in the sky. You can even see the milky way on occasion. The Legion occasionally has events but they are few and far between and always over by 10pm. You can have camp fires, bar-b-ques, and sit in a hammock or swing and melt the everyday stress away. There is large catfish in the creek. Crabs make their way up the creek around mid July. The water is nice and deep at the end of the dock so, your feet never touch the muddy bottom. Plenty of water fowl all year long.
