For the most part the condo was as described and in a great location. We had a wonderful time on Ambergris Caye and would definitely return to the island. However, we probably would not stay at this condo again unless the following problems were corrected: 1) The thermostat was locked so it couldn't be set below 78 degrees fahrenheit. This may have been okay during the day since we were usually out anyway, but at night the air in the condo stayed at about 78 and because the a/c wouldn't come on, the air was very stuffy and humid, even with the fan on. The bedding felt damp and it was difficult to sleep. Humid and 78 degree air is not comfortable. After a couple days I contacted the owner who told me there was nothing that could be done. She did offer to let us find another place to stay and she would refund any remaining money. She may have felt it was a good offer, but I told her it would detract more from our vacation to have to search out other accommodations, pack up all our clothes, food and miscellaneous, move to a different place, and then unpack everything. So we decided to stay and live with the problem. I looked online and found that you can buy locking thermostats that have lower limits, such 76, 75, etc. 2) No screens on the windows/doors. Due to the locked thermostat, we may have tried opening windows or doors at night to let in a breeze. But without screens, anything (mosquitoes, insects, critters) could have gotten in. There were rodent droppings on the deck so leaving windows or deck doors open didn't seem like a good option. 3) Shower rod in one of the bathrooms was barely hanging on so on multiple occasions it fell on us while showering. 4) Shower drain in the other bathroom had a very sharp crimp in the metal drain which punctured our daughter's foot when she happened to step on it. 5) The condo is advertised as having wireless internet. This is actually not true. What we found is that we were expected to use the neighbor's wifi. However, the signal wasn't strong enough unless we went outside and sat closer to their unit. When I told our condo's owner about this, she excused it by saying Belize is still a 3rd world country. I understand and am okay with Belize's status, but that has nothing to do with the fact that our unit did not have its own wifi as was advertised. If it wasn't for the A/C, we would have just lived with the other issues and not written this review. But we felt that A/C in a tropical place can be a very important issue.Owner response: I am writing this response to address this guest’s issues last January at our condo in Belize. The issue with the shower drain and shower curtain rod were resolved in February. None of the front units have screens. The screens do not withstand the tropical storms and hurricanes. We have replaced them several times over the years and had them destroyed. We also don’t consider plentiful tropical birds and geckos as rodents. Although there could be rodents on the island, I have never seen one in the 20 years I’ve been coming to Ambergris Caye. I am not sure what was on the deck. In the past we have shared the wireless internet with our neighbor that uses Coral Cable. Because the internet is supplied to the island via satellite, the service can be disrupted. We have installed Belize Telemedia internet but we may still have some of the same issues. My hope is that if one is down, the other may be available. We do have a thermostat that will not go below 77 degrees. At night with the bedroom doors closed, the temperature goes down a few more degrees. I am sleeping with a sheet and light blanket at night. We have our air conditioner maintenance quarterly. In February, the technician discovered an issue that required us to replace the air conditioner unit on the roof. I feel this has corrected the issue with the comfort in the condo.

Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay at this Oacis condo. The description was very accurate - we comfortably slept 4 (including 2 teens who need their space), enjoyed the comfort, cleanliness, decor, books, local information and more offered by the owners. The location is ideal. It is close enough to walk to all the shops and restaurants of San Pedro, while far enough away to be quiet. We took advantage of the available bikes to visit to the north and south of Ambergris Caye, enjoyed star-gazing from the pier across from the condo, and snorkeling with the local guides. We will definitely be recommending this location to others.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We had a wonderful trip! I would say we had the time of our life. The condo was very nice. Here are some things we did .On Sunday we rented a golf cart and explored a little north of island, had lunch at Captain Morgan's. Monday went to the mainland and went to Xunantunich (Incredable mayan ruins), and then cave tubing. Tuesday, fishing and snorkelled some. Caught 16 fish mostly snappers, good eating for rest of week. Wed. went to Ho Chan marine reserve, (incredible!!) and shark ray alley. Thru. went back to Ho Chan, because we liked it so much. We always used the same guide for fishing and snorkelling, because the price was good, and it was just me and Shelly, no large groups. Other places we liked were Fidos, Carumbas, and Estelle's . It was an incredible time and although its always good to be home, we just want to go back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: We're glad you enjoyed your stay!

This is the 3rd time that we have stayed in this condo. We will be going back again and again. We love the location, the people that stay there and the beauty. It is a 14 unit condo complex with oceanfront and pool view from the side balcony. If we are not on a tour we are out by the pool in the comfortable lounge chairs. We had amazing barbeques out by the pool with the families that live there and the other vacationers that are staying in other units. There is 2 bikes that you can take and ride aroung to check out the amazing island. In San Pedro there is so manytings to do. We had our grandkids and went through 6 gallons of fresh squeezed O.J. If you go out the back of the condo's there is a "fast food" place that has amazing chinese food (especially the noodles) order 1//2 what you think and you will have a ton of left overs. You can go to amazing restaurants, but go deep sea fishing and reef fishing with the company dock that is just off to the right of the condos. Highly recommended and the baracuda was steaked out and amazin. The owners of the condo are great people and really want you to enjoy your stay. ENjoy the country of Belize and enjoy your stay at one of the best condos around. Thank you to Jan again for letting us stay in your condo.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thank you again for the great review! This helps us a lot. Let me know about next year if you are planning to go back. Jan
