as anticipated our visit was still 'winter'. the yurt is as described and supplied with plenty of wood to chop for heating and propane lights/stove. great 'home base' from which to explore the north fork area. our estimate is that it would sleep 5 comfortably as long as there were two couples who shared the queen beds. surprisingly warm and cozy as long as one keeps the fire going. no evidence of mice or other critters inside the structure.

Great place with central location for all the area has to offer. Especially nice in winter when you have the place to yourself. And pet friendly to boot, unlike Flathead National Forest cabins.

Easy access to the park and river. Has everything you'll need. For winter use- the wood stove warmed the yurt up in no time.

Loved most things about the yurt--the shower worked well. Getting water was sort of a hassle and the 5-gallon pail in the kitchen was difficult to operate. Paths to water shed and shower could be more developed.

I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a winter adventure! Once you start the fire and light up the propane lights, it is a very cozy atmosphere which is great for relaxing and enjoying a unique winter experience!

We had friends in from back east and we stayed in the Yurt. It was perfect. I have not slept so well in a long time. Loved the propane lanterns on the walls and the deck. It rained while we were in Polebridge, but it was ok because we were cozy inside the yurt! We are thinking about making this an annial tradition! Thank you for an amazing stay. Peace.

I stayed at this yurt in June for 4 days. Some things I liked about it were it's proximity to the park, wrap around deck, the latrine didn't smell, great fire pits, beautiful structure, the owners were friendly, the inside can fit a small family and it was clean. Things they can improve upon would be to leave the key in a more obvious place (we had to search for it), make the sauna viable -- after an hour of being smoked out in the sauna, we gave up. It's simply not usable. We would have died in there. The inside stove - We tried to light the inside stove for over 40 minutes and half a box of matches tons of news papers, tinder ... you name it. It wouldn't stay lit. For those of us that don't have magic, they might want to make some fire starters available (made of saw dust, petroleum jelly and dryer lint for instance), showers -- they were colder than the outside temperature (below 55) (brrrr) so we didn't shower all weekend. If they would paint black whatever holds the water, that could be very helpful. If the owners would make some of the above changes, I'd stay there again. If you don't mind not showering, don't get excited over a sauna, could care less about an indoor fire, this place might be for you or you might simply stay at an ordinary cabin for a less money.

Owner response: Rhonda has some great points that we would like to address. We now have the key located in a better spot. We have added a fire building instruction page that will help people who may not be familiar building fires. And we now have fire starters available. And based on Rhonda's recommendation; we have painted the shower tank black to help increase the water temp. Thanks for the great recommendations, Rhonda!

I had an amazing time in Montana. The yurt is definitely rustic but it was a nice place to sleep with a roof over our head in various weather. Unfortunately it's location is quite a drive from the hikes we had planned on the east side of Glacier National Park so we were not able to spend a lot of time in Polebridge. Our group of 5 was able to fit pretty well but unless 2 recliners are considered beds I can't see how it sleeps 7 comfortably. Just remember it's a clean tent with the basics and it's nice not to have to carry around your equipment to various campgrounds. Polebridge is definitely a neat place to stay and look forward to visiting there again. The pastries and bread at the Mercantile were wonderful and the restaurant was good as well.

We enjoyed our stay in the yurt very much. My kids loved it. We only wish we could have stayed longer! Great location, comfortable space, a true Polebridge experience. We rode our bikes to the river and to the Mercantile, met great people at the the Northern Lights Saloon. Also, ate some of the best food of our trip at the saloon and bakery. All together, loved our time in the yurt! Thank you much!
