This beautiful, hand crafted Mosier cottage with garden and patio is perfect for anybody who loves character and artistry. Every detail is unique and well done. It is, "rustic elegant" on a quite street just a few blocks away from some of the best windsurfing I have ever done. The house is one large room with a lofted, "bedroom", bathroom and plenty of floor level sleep space. We spent most of our time enjoying eating delicious local farmer's market produce and cheese on the house's little patio. This house is a unique opportunity to spend time in a one of a kind, true craft cottage in a very cool, laid back community. Enjoy the walking, bike riding and windsurfing/kite boarding all within minutes.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

My wife and I really enjoyed the 4 nights we spent at this adorable cottage in Mosier. The owners have done a great job of making a very quaint cabin out of an old building. It's clean and open floor plan made it easy to enjoy indoor and outdoor space and the furnishings made it feel like home. The cooking setup is very simple with a 4 burner electric stove/oven but the extra butcher block cart provided just the prep space we needed and they have a good supply of pots, pans, utensils, etc. for your basic weekend cooking needs. The outdoor barbecue wasn't mentioned and is good to know about. The only real negatives are the loft area for sleeping is way too low to comfortably maneuver (I'm 6' but my 5'5" wife couldn't even stand in the tallest part either), so we ended up setting up a bed on the main floor and that was perfect for us. The ladder to the loft is very cute but too light-weight in construction for a safe ascent for heavy use of renters of varying weights. I hope they will replace it with something much more sturdy to withstand the variety of renters they will end up with. Aside from that - if you are allergic to feathers, make sure you mention it because almost all the bedding and throw pillows were feather. It would be great if sites like VRBO and AirBnB just head 'Feathers: Yes/No' as a piece of information everyone listing a property would have to state, so renters are reminded ahead of time. I just forgot to ask, so we made due and it was no big deal. The only other thing that is a pet peeve is the large cleaning fee seemed disproportionate to the rental rate. But we're typically very neat and tidy so I'm sure if other renters leave things a huge mess, the $50 cleaning fee covers the cost of cleaning up. Still, the fee doesn't really encourage you to clean up after yourself as much so maybe it works against them in the long run. I'd rather they just add $10/night to the rental rate and not mention any extras, as those add-ons can often be a reason we will rent one place over the other. We would definitely go back and rent this place again, just knowing ahead of time we'd want to be sleeping on the main floor which leaves a little less living space but still plenty for a couple to enjoy a long weekend. Go stay there!Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, sightseeing, adventure seekers.

We spent the Labor Day weekend at the Artisan Cottage which was ideally located in the Columbia River Gorge. We walked from the cottage to hikes in the hills overlooking the most beautiful part of the Gorge; and to a local restaurant with outdoor seating and a nice band in the evening. The location is wonderful. The cabin is a newly finished abode with abundant artistic features (see if you can find the surprise images in the bathroom). We could easily prepare meals on the full stove/oven; enjoy meals outdoors.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

Mosier is a very cool little town, not too far from Hood River or The Dalles. We had a great time in the cottage and it is perfect for two people. Great patio and nice yard, no complaints. We will be back!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, sightseeing, adventure seekers.
