We usually stay at hotels but were prodded by Laurel to try out the White sands condo. Loved the location, the clean unit and view from balcony. We enjoyed having a washer and dryer on site which is priceless in a warm and muggy climate. The pool is great but don't try to make conversation with the uptight regulars. The sunset across the street is perfect to sit on the wall over the bay to watch the sun go down and tides roll in. Highest recommendation to stay at this great unit and top it off with a longboard beer float to boot.

We first stayed at this lovely location with family in February 2012 and were very "happy to return" with friends in April 2013. Dealing with the owner on every detail was truly a most positive experience. Shirley is very quick to help with places to see, eat and experience which simply makes the whole Island adventure one to remember. A return visit for 2014 is at the top of our plans, mahalo nui loa.

We are a party of 4 adults stayed at this condo for 9 days and were very happy! Condo itself is absolutely gorgeous: clean, well organized-you will find there everything you need. It has huge balcony with a table and 6 chairs, so you'll enjoy your outside meal with the ocean view. Location is amazing: you are 100 m from the beach. The ocean is a little rough, however the vies is beautiful. The surf is everywhere on the island, be prepare do not swim if you are not fit well-very dangerous. Thank you Shirley for letting us check out later, according to our flight. Overall, very nice stay and I would recommend to all of our friends to rent this condo. April 2013 Galina and Yeugenya. Owner response: Although the surf varies from time to time on the Big Island you can usually find the beaches to be quite calm most of the time. As there are periodic times when the surf is up it does mean that either you're a very happy surfer or you will need heed the high surf warnings and be a bit more cautious about swimming. I have found that the guide book "The Big Island Revealed" is a great resource for information on which beaches are are the best swimming beaches.

We enjoyed staying in this tastefully decorated, well- maintained and well-located suite. It was wonderful hearing the sounds of the waves as we drifted off to sleep and viewing the ocean from the lanai. There is a variety of birds right in the vicinity of the condo to enjoy. The pool and surrounding grounds are very nice. There is a great beach for snorkeling only minutes away to the south. There is a terrific variety of fish here to view without worry of a threatening current. We enjoyed a couple of great meals at Anthony's across the street on the outdoor terrace very close to the breaking waves. Our favorite place to view the sunset (apart from the condo lanai) was at Ray's on the Bay at the Kona Sheratan. Also great to watch from shore (bar) as others did the swim with the manta rays in front of the Sheraton. The owner was helpful in answering any questions we had. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to friends and relatives.

Owner response: I have had a few dinners at Ray's on the Bay and the food was excellent and they even had live music! A few years ago my daughter got married on the grounds of the Sheraton and the setting was like something out of a magazine-so beautiful! And for anyone looking to get married on The Big Island- the Sheraton was very affordable.

This unit at White sands is lovely, the owner clearly takes excellent care of her unit. Everything is how it is decribed in the listing. We were happy with everything about it, wished we had stayed here the whole time we were on the big island. The owner was great to work with and possibly my best resource for info about Hawaii too! The only thing that was a bit off was that sometimes my 7 year old son was a bit too exuberant around the pool for some of the older residents (he's a very sweet and good boy, but still a 7 year old boy!), so we felt a bit restricted by that. But you can always just go across to the beach!

We stayed at this property for almost a week and enjoyed every minute. Across the street is Magic Sands Beach, and during our stay we saw the magic happen. The beach got considerably smaller every day we were there. It doesn't completely disappear, just gets smaller. Apparently in the spring it comes back and grows again. But great sand and boarding beach. The condo complex is nice, a little older but well maintained. Same with the actual condo itself. Comfortable and well maintained. But what really makes this place shine is the owner. Shirley is easy to work with and goes above and beyond. Our daughter left her school journal when we checked out and went to the other side of the island. But we emailed Shirley and she was able to coordinate with the office to get it out of the room and keep it until we could pick it up. We would definitely go back again.

Owner response: Thanks Joe for the nice review! Glad I could help out. I just want to point out that the sand on Magic sands beach is typically back in a very short time, usually about a week. As well I have just done some updates, some new furniture and there are 2 new flat screen T.V.'s a 42 inch in the living room and smaller one in the master bedroom. Kind regards, Shirley

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at White Sands Village. Accomodations were nice and clean and bright. We spend alot of time around and in the pool which was also kept in super condition. The Manager was awesome and helped us out along with the office staff. Shirley, the property owner, was excellent and contacted us during our stay to confirm that we were happy and comfortable. She was excellent and we will definitely refer this property to others. There is a beautiful white sand beach across the road and also a nice calm snorkelling beach not far from here. Can't wait to go back!

located on white sands beach, great 2 bedroom condo overlooking the pool and the beach... Ideal location on the Kona coast. My first time to Hawaii and we sure had a great place to stay. I highly reccomend this condo, it is clean, well maintained and in the best location. The pool, hottub were great to use. I will be sure to stay again when I return to Hawaii.

What a fantastic vacation! Love the unit and sitting on the lanai. Plus, the beach across the road is our favourite on the Big Island. And we have seen many beaches. We will be back. Thanks for the amazing vacation (and the free internet!). See you next year.

We stayed at this condo for 3 weeks in January 2012. My boyfriend and I can't wait to go back next year and stay at the same place. We enjoyed blended fruit drinks on the lanai every night watching the sunset. The beach is awesome! we boogie boarded, body surfed, snorkeled and saw turtles almost every day. We can't say enough good things about this unit we felt like we were in our own home.

Stayed for 2 weeks at this wonderful condo. The unit is in nice shape and has been well maintained. The large deck overlooks the pool and has a gorgeous view of Magic Sands beach and sunsets. The best part is you can enjoy the view while not having to listen to road noise (front units are noisy). Top floor, close to the elevator with only one shared wall. The best part is the location to Magic Sands beach. Literally steps to (in my opinion) the best beach on the Island. Go for a dip then come back to shower at the unit before heading down stairs to cook a steak on the BBQ (while playing a game of pool, of course). I will definitely be back next year as it was the best place I have stayed on the Big Island (and have been coming here for 10+ years). Unit owner is also a pleasure to deal with. Thanks :)

We have stayed in this unit twice, both times were tremendous. Probably the greatest vacations of our lives. The condo is beautifully laid out, ocean breezes waft through the unit, soooo comfortable. We jogged each morning on Allii Drive, return for a dip in the ocean, then fresh fruit on the lanai. We would venture out to explore different beaches in the afternoons (there is a cooler and the freezer makes lots of ice), then either visit one of the many restaurants/bars in Kona for dinner, or return to the condo to BBQ down by the pool. Pool table down by the BBQs (careful not to burn the meat boys). Great snorkelling across the street, or even better about 1 km south at the "Turtle Beach". Absolutely love this condo, and this location. We will definitely return to this place, can hardly wait.

Awesome! Our second time staying here just as fabulous as our first. Love being so close to beach and snorkeling and just a quick trip to the KTA for groceries and supplies. Costco available a short drive away too. Pool and BBQ are great - love meeting new folks there. Friendly and comfortable. Great area to walk or run. Highly recommend to anyone considering. Would come again in a heartbeat. Enjoy!

This was the second year in a row that we stayed here, we love it so much! The location is absolutely perfect, as it is across from one of the best local beaches in Kona. The beach has it all, boogie boarding waves, white sands, turtles and plenty of sunshine. It is also patrolled by lifeguards and has a beach volleyball net. In addition, the condo is less than 5 miles from Kona village, so we would ride bikes regularly to town, picking up local veg and fruit at the market. If you like to run, well this is a heavenly run, as well, all along the ocean with wide shoulders and plenty of other people doing the same. The condo itself is great, very clean and has everything you need to be self-sustainable. We enjoyed preparing our own meals, using the community BBQ or our personal appliances. The King sized bed was a bonus, along with having two bathrooms. Washing clothes in the newer washer/dryer was great too. I have recommended this place over and over to friends and family. I would not hesitate to say this is one of the best experiences we have had, in renting a private condo in a paradise location. Enjoy!

Have stayed in this unit 3 times and I've already booked my next stay. This place is awesome everything, view, beach, pool, location and condo. We like to bike to the market every day for fresh fruit and veggies. Can't beat sitting on the lanai with a cold beer watching the sun set. The condo has a washer & dryer so we don't need to pack much and of course that leaves more room in the suitcase for all the loot we've bought. The beach right across the street is a huge bonus; get up in the morning go for a run then into the water for a swim before breakfast. Later it's back down to the beach to boogie board, bob in the waves, snorkel or if we're lucky swim with the turtles. This place is as beautiful as the advertisement photo, the condo is super clean and the gardens around the pool look like a park. In fact the whole place is very well kept and it's nice to have a BBQ area beside the pool to use. Just down the road to the left is a fabulous snorkeling lagoon and to the right the village of Kona with the huge outdoor market, wonderful restaurants and Kona coffee. I highly recommend this place !

This unit it very lovely to stay in. I love the large lanai (deck) that overlooks the pool and White Sands Beach. The unit is nicely updated and has a new dishwasher and front loader washer and dryer. The location of the unit in White Sands Village is perfect. It's close to the elevator and stairs, top floor (nice view) and is far enough away from the road but is still only seconds to walk to White Sands beach. If you like Turtles, volleyball, boogie boarding or just lazing on the beach, then White Sands is the beach for you. I also like that the unit is only a few minutes outside of Kona Town. Hop on the trolly and your their in a few minutes! It's nice to stay in a unit that has been cared for and you can tell that the owner actually cares about the unit! I will be back and will be telling everyone I know about my fantastic experience! Thanks again
