Colorado Springs cottage description
Welcome to our 1890s cottage, conveniently located in Downtown Colorado Springs at 20 North Corona St, Colorado Springs, CO 80903, just 5 blocks from everything that historic Downtown Colorado Springs has to offer! Pets are welcome, too... We have a sister cottage at 18 N Corona St, (VRBO #355182) also available for rent to accomodate larger parties.
This light, bright 750 square foot one bedroom cottage is the perfect spot to explore and experience all the wonders that Colorado Springs has to offer! It has classic Victorian 10 foot ceilings!
The cottage is located on a quiet non-through street so there is not very much traffic and easy on street parking is always available.
The bedroom has a queen sized thick, comfy mattress. We also have a pretty comfortable fold up bed and a twin size air mattress which can be set up in the living room, so we can accomodate up to five or six people (if someone sleeps on the 2 couches).
The property has a mix of antiques and contemporary furnishings. The living room has an antique armoire for hanging your clothes, as well as a smaller closet in the bedroom. There are new sofas in the living room and the dining room. The dining room set seats four to six people.
There is a new flat screen 22' television in the bedroom and there is a 42' Toshiba High Def Flat Screen TV in the Livingroom. Both TVs have full cable TV service. We are also set up for wireless internet access so you can surf the web and there is a phone in the cottage with free local and long distance service, as well.
There are fir wood floors throughout (no carpeting at all), a full kitchen, complete with everything you could need for a fun vacation! There are air-conditioners in the bedroom and the dining room (which cool the whole place),
The kitchen has a dishwaster, but is not an eat in kitchen. It's a nice size for preparing food with a large pantry, as well as the doorway leading to the back porch. The washing machine and drier are in the kitchen as well.
The bathroom consists of a claw foot tub/shower, a small sink and a toilet. It's a little tight but is quite functional.
The small (approximately 10 feet by 20 feet) fenced in back yard area has a gas barbeque, as well as a patio table and chairs on the small covered porch for al fresco dining. It has a mini-view of Pikes Peak. There is a chain link fence in the back yard with an empty lot behind it. This is an urban yard isn't that isn't landscaped. Because there are no neighbors behind you, it's pretty quiet. I own the cottage next door which is also a VRBO property (355182).
We allow pets, but please let us know if for some reason you need a kennel or some type of help with your dog during your stay and we will try to accomodate your pooch.
From our cottage, you can walk to downtown boutiques, restaurants, clubs, and antique shops. We are also less than ten minutes from historic Old Colorado City and fifteen minutes from exciting Manitou Springs with their wonderful restaurants, shopping, supermarkets and galleries. Garden of the Gods park, with its exquisite red rock formations, is a must see and it is less than 15 minutes away with a fantastic visitor's center. The Broadmoor Hotel is just a hop, skip and jump away, as well, less than 15 minutes... The Air Force Academy is about 20 minutes north of us, and Colorado College is about 15 blocks away. The Olympic Training Center is east of us and less than a five minute drive.
Bear Creek Dog Park and Bear Creek Nature Center are less than 10 minutes west, and are wonderful places to take the kids! There is also a beautiful zoo less than 15 minutes away. There are many fabulous day trips less than 2 hours from us, including the drive up Pikes Peak, marvellng at the Royal Gorge, rafting on the Arkansas river, soaking in hotsprings, exploring Cave of the Winds, and visiting the Cliff-dwelling museum, all great entertainment for kids.
Cancellation Policy: 100% refund if cancellation is 60 days or more before arrival date. Cancelling 30-60 days before arrival date will result in forfeit of deposit. Cancelling within 30 days of arrival date is non-refundable unless we are able to re-book those days. There is a $50.00 processing fee for any cancellations

We stayed in a different property owned and operated by this owner. It was very nice! It also is an older property but very well maintained inside, very clean with home-y furnishings. Mr. Lowenherz is extremely helpful and accommodating - he gave us lots of useful info about the area, we had some problems with the internet due to storms and he was very prompt in making sure it got back up and running. The only drawback is the air conditioners in the windows - they are loud when running and prevent opening windows for circulation - but unavoidable in an older residence. We definitely hope to stay here again!

Convenient place to stay with good facilities
Convenient place to stay with good facilities
We stayed in the cottage for a week and found everything to be very convenient. The cottage although basic has everything you would need but bathroom is extremely small. We found the bed to be uncomfortable but the owner quickly changed the base when we told him so he is very easy to deal with. Cooking facilities and washing facilities are excellent and lounge is very comfortable.one thing I would say is that the owner needs to leave instructions on how to work the entertainment setup as we couldn't work that out. Possibly because we are from a different country. All in all a very convenient place to stay to see everything the area has to offer and good value for money.

We found the cottage Very Nice! Within quick walking distance to downtown Colorado Springs. Equipped with everything a family would need. And around the block is a jogging path as well as two parks close by for children. We found our stay at the cottage to be very delightful. And would highly recommend as well as come back. Best Regards, Melissa and Brian Hoot

Old home in a convenient location
Old home in a convenient location
Our family of 3+1 stayed at 20 N Corona the last week of June 2012. Fair price given the location and the fact you are renting an entire home Pros: +Mark is extraordinarily easy to work with and accommodating. +Location is very convenient -- just about everything we wanted to do downtown was an easy half mile walk. The home is in what I'd call a "transitional" neighborhood; those acquainted with urban living will be quite comfortable (others might not). Never felt unsafe. +Pets allowed; fenced back yard +Home is thoughtfully equipped (from big things like the extra aero bed and linens to little things like laundry detergent and tupperware for leftovers). +Stayed here during the hottest week in Colorado Springs' recorded history -- a/c units worked fine to keep bedroom and living spaces cool. +WiFi was easy and fast Cons: -As a little old house, space is at a premium. Living areas (living room and dining room) were adequate. Bedroom was small, but workable. Kitchen had almost no counter space (but there is a useful pantry). Bathroom is tiny almost to the point of being comical. The old tub takes up over half the floor space of the bathroom. Positioning of sink, toilet, and window are such that there's no mirror over the sink (for shaving).

About the owner: We have 3 Corgi dogs of our own, all rescued from the Humane Society, and our daughter has a 4th Corgi, also a rescue... We take our 3 pups with us whenever we can, and they love taking long hikes with us around the many parks in the Colorado Springs area. We have been married for close to 30 years. We lived in New York City for our first 35+ years, and have lived in Colorado for the past 17 years. We love it here! (You will too!)
Why the Owner Chose Colorado Springs:
We lived in downtown Colorado Springs for five years. We had fallen in love with the downtown area when we first moved here and when this unique property came up for sale, we couldn't resist!
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Colorado Springs has many open space areas and parks. We have 3 Corgi dogs (all rescue dogs, adopted at the Colorado Springs Humane Society), and we take them hiking up into the surrounding parks and mountains. We loved being in the heart of all that Colorado Springs, Old Colorado City and Manitou have to offer!
