My husband and I only had one weekend here, but it was heavenly, and we look forward to returning. The Amenities listed were completely on point: the comfortable self-contained darling cottage w/casita, the abundant wildlife, peace and quiet, the special hot tub, the endless stars, closeness to Joshua Tree Nat'l. Park... they are numerous and feel endless...we remember them all so well, and we always will. Even the photos are great but they do understate the reality; the decor being impeccable, tasteful and looks and feels new. In the guest book I expressed it in a haiku... Mighty Joshua, Tenderize My City Soul, Send Me Back Refreshed!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This home has the convenience of being close to town with the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere! It is cute and cozy and well stocked. We enjoyed building a fire and sitting outside after cooking dinner on the grill and the hot tub was absolutely amazing under the stars! Loved watching the birds and chipmunks feed on the birdseed! We also noticed large cat tracks through the yard after an overnight rain! Took in Joshua Tree National Park and drove out to Landers to check out the Integraton. We would recommend this property to anyone looking to get away from it all.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We loved this place... private, clean, well appointed... couldn't ask for more! Next time... longer stay. In the yard there were jackrabbits, blue jays, quail and finches in abundance. (Watch out for the few loose cactus spines in the yard if you have young children with you.... I got one picking up a rock to secure the lounge cover in the dark...) We were out there watching the meteors thus use of yard lights were precluded. Next time I'll use a flashlight. :-)Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

Getting away to the desert is ideal in itself....but add onto that a stay in a very well equipped, clean and cozy cottage and you get rejuvenating combination. We are not new to renting on VRBO, but it was such a pleasant surprise to find this little cottage so full of thoughtful touches: rock collections, candles, nice LP collection, very well stocked kitchen and SO much beautiful natural light. Everywhere in the house is light (when you open the blinds). At night, lots of lamps that set a nice mood in the house. It's well furnished and was perfect for us two. Though I can see a family of 4 in it as well. Outside is nice, too. Well kept and private. The bird feeder attracts lots of birds and it can be a bit addicting to just sit there in the early morning, drinking coffee, watching the sunrise and witnessing the birds go to town on the food. The chiminea on the patio is so welcoming on the - brrrrr - cold mornings. The jacuzzi was such a treat after a long day out. It's so easy to sit in there and watch the sunset,The casita is so cute. I thought it was going to be a shed with laundry, but it's so cozy and works as a very functional 2nd bedroom (twin bed). I can't thing of one detraction, but there are a few things that are good to know... there is Wifi. It's not the fastest for work (who wants to work in this glorious place?!?) and does not seem recommended for streaming. I am a picky sleeper and should have brought my own pillows. We stayed in for a few days, enjoying the cottage and unwinding. Literally, the stresses melt down until you feel refreshingly relaxed. Deep breathing seems easier here! We then visited JT and also took the tram up the mountains (In Palm Springs). The tram trip is highly recommended - one can experience the desert and a beautiful forest in the same day! One night to the movies and another to Palm Desert for dinner. Lots to do in the surrounding areas. If you cannot tell by now, we are fans and thanks to Alisha and Lee for sharing their little peaceful slice of the desert. It's such a great value. kim & jeff costa mesa, caRecommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
