We have had a tough year and my adult daughter did not want to celebrate either Thanksgiving or Christmas at our home. No stockings, no presents, no tree, no meal with what was left of our family.We all understood and decided to try something completely different. I messed around until 2 weeks before Christmas. Desperate, I decided I was going to find a place in one evening. I went through VRBO and found several. While I was still searching, I received a call from Lou Ann. Feeling a little uncomfortable, I explained our situation. She told me she thought she had the perfect place. It was... This could be a really long story but I will tell you that Lou Ann, the home, the area, the small towns close to the home plus Traverse City, and the owner have helped us begin to recover, heal, and have truly a wonderful Christmas. When we arrived, it was dark so we couldn't see the beach area very well. We were greeted with a beautiful live Christmas tree that only Santa's elves could have set up so nicely. The home is large and beautiful and very clean. Each room is decorated with obvious love and care. The fireplace is gorgeous in the living room and another downstairs in the family room. There are interesting books to read, cards to play, large screen tv in the basement to enjoy. The kitchen is very handsome with all the amenities plus a double oven, a nice small bar, a handy pantry and a beautiful kitchen table with another tv, so the chef can cook and watch the sports games. Now on to the wintertime Lake Michigan beach. No problem with it being cold and snowy, the beach is wide, clean, and stunning. We saw four white swans enjoying the water as if it was summer, right in front of the house. The view from the house out to the beach is breathtaking. There is a wonderful deck that a large family could spend in the summer relaxing on. All the pine trees in the woods, with the intense smell of pine, behind the house were like a step back in time. We enjoyed a sleigh ride at a place recommended by Lou Ann. It was outstanding with hot chocholate at the top of the hill in a cabin to take off the chill. We ate wonderful hamburgers AND dessert at a place called Happy Hour on the way home. If I am too bubbly about this place, it's because it is truly a special place. Each one of us felt that we were given extra care by Lou Ann, the owner, and truly surrounded by beautiful God's country. I would recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a home away from home.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This home exceeded all of my expectations. Way more room than we needed for our family of 4, but on the other hand perfect for entertaining friends who live in Northport. Kitchen is amazing with absolutely everything you need to cook and serve a crowd. Our one rainy day was spent going into Leland. Upon return to house we played poker with the whole official poker set-up.The sunny days were spent on the spectacular beach. Books galore! I was in literary heaven. I was in Northport heaven.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Jones Point, named after the owners, has been in the same family for all of its 37 years. The house was carefully nestled into the land so the natural beauty was left as undisturbed as possible. After discovering this beautiful area with its ever-changing landscapes, the owners happily welcomed friends and family to come and share this wonderful place that they love so very much. Evidence of another love, classic cars, can be found throughout the home. Three beautiful sitting areas all have spectacular views of West Grand Traverse Bay.
