  After looking at different rentals, hotels, even different islands for weeks, my husband and I finally chose this cottage on St. Croix as our honeymoon destination - and we are so happy we did! The cottage is centrally located within a gated community which was really nice and felt very safe. With all of the fun we had on the island it was always nice to have a place to come back to at the end of the day that had all of the comforts of our real home (except, unfortunately, our house does not have a terrace that overlooks the ocean). As far as amenities, we had everything we needed- a fully equipped kitchen, wifi, air conditioning, beach gear (even masks and snorkels), a comfortable bed, washer and dryer, and television (for rainy days only). Also of note was the overall cleanliness of the cottage when we arrived. Aside from the cottage being wonderful, so are the owners Chad and Emily. They both went out of their way to make us feel welcome by doing things like sending sightseeing and restaurant recommendations within minutes of booking, calling friends to see where the best surfing on the island is, and even greeting us with homemade cookies and champagne. You can tell they love St. Croix and it is so nice that they chose to share it with all of us. This was the most relaxing trip I’ve ever had and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great island getaway. The only downside of our trip was that it was too short- we cannot wait to come back!

  We spent a week of our honeymoon at the cottage and I don't think we could have picked a better spot. The view of the ocean was amazing and the cottage had everything we could have wanted including towels, beach chairs, a beach umbrella, snorkels, kitchen gadgets, and great A/C. The cottage is located in a great spot for exploring both ends of the island and the gated community felt extremely safe. Chad and Emily were fantastic hosts, always there with perfect suggestions but we still felt like we had our own private get away. (Thanks for the suggestion about Isaac's Bay! It was worth every bit of the 15 minute hike to get there. We had the beach to ourselves and the snorkling was awesome!) This was our first time renting on HomeAway and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We would definitely rent the cottage again if we return to St. Croix.

  We spent 8 days on St. Croix for our honeymoon and the cottage was a perfect home base. Brand-new with beautiful oceanfront views, it looks just like the pictures, but they don't convey the loveliness of the beautiful ocean breeze and the sound of the waves:) Chad and Emily have a wonderful place of paradise. This was our first time renting through VRBO, and the cottage was absolutely perfect. Well worth every penny. The cottage is brand-new and exceptionally well-maintained. The cottage made a perfect home base and allowed us to truly relax at the end of each day with a book in one hand and a Cruzan rum drink (perfectly blended thanks to the blender:)!) in the other. It was so helpful to have access to beach towels, chairs and an umbrella. Chad and Emily were perfect hosts, they gave great suggestions for restaurants, beaches and hikes when we needed them. We also really appreciated that they let us say hello to their dogs- as we were missing our own puppy back at home:) Judith's Fancy (the neighborhood that the cottage is located in) is a great location and makes it easy to explore St. Croix's East End and West End. A car is pretty much a necessity and I might recommend renting something that has a bit more traction than say a Ford Focus, the roads on St. Croix are definitely not what you're used to in the states:) We can't wait to come back!

  Great spot. The ocean breezes blew every night and we slept with the doors wide open ... very safe neighborhood. Chad and Emily are great hosts with enough face time to give you tips for your vacation, but not 'in your face' either. Just enough. The condo amenities are great. New appliances and stone counter tops. Very pretty spot.

  This was our first time using HomeAway, what a wonderful experience. We choose St. Croix and this cottage based off many of the reviews we read - all are accurate and couldn't be more true. Chad and Emily our hosts were truly gracious and have thought of every little thing you could want or need. The cottage is perfectly appointed, towels, linens, hair dryer, blender, washer & dryer - truly a lovely guest house. This felt like visiting close friends - not like renting a house. The views are spectacular, you can see the ocean and hear the waves from the front porch, and the short walk down to the beach puts you right in the heart of the Caribbean. The beach was peaceful and secluded, we saw only a few neighbors during the entire week. On the days we did venture from the cottage, Chad and Emily made it so easy to enjoy ourselves. A cooler, beach towels, snorkeling gear, chairs, an umbrella - everything you need to venture out into the island to find your own little paradise. Judith's Fancy is a lovely gated community, we felt completely safe and never worried once about the area or neighbors. St. Croix is a beautiful island, there were so many wonderful places to explore and enjoy - Chad and Emily were always gracious and made the best recommendations for restaurants, beaches and places to visit. I would highly recommend - you will not be disappointed!

  My friend and I were looking to stay on St. Croix in a condo and found this amazing cottage instead and we couldn't have been happier. It was so nice to have our own little home to come home to after a day at the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the porch and seeing the ocean every day. What a gorgeous view! The cottage was beautifully appointed (it is exactly as it looks in the photos) and they provided everything you would need. Judith's Fancy is a gated community and it is well-maintained and we felt very safe. Chad and Emily were great to rent from. They were so helpful when it came to recommendations for the best food, beaches, drinks, and activities. And, they were so warm and friendly, and easily accessible if you needed them. They really want to ensure you are having a wonderful stay at their cottage - and we absolutely did!

  Recommended for: Girls getaway.

  We like the islands, but not big resorts. Most summers, we charter a sailboat so we can explore on our own and relax on the boat. This year, we wanted something different and were lucky to find Chad and Emily's guest house. This gem lives up to its great reviews and is as beautiful as the photos suggest. Its uncomplicated elegance is unforgettable, and it's the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring St. Croix. Chad and Emily are great hosts, sharing their knowledge of the island's best restaurants, sights and activities. 5+ stars!

  My husband and I were looking for a quiet place to stay in St. Croix and we were so happy that we found the Ocean Vista Cottage. The gated community, Judith's Fancy, is a wonderful place to stay. It provided miles and miles of hiking and photo opportunities. The cottage was absolutely stunning and looked exactly like it did in the pictures. It was spotless, and provided every luxurious amenity one could want in a vacation home. The maps and brochures, homemade cookies and bottle of rum were a wonderful welcoming touch. Chad and Emily had great recommendations for places to eat and sites to see. We picked up a few groceries at the Food Town grocery store down the road. However, we did eat out a lot and our favorite restaurants were Salud, Eat At Cane Bay, and Angry Nates. We rented a car and visited Point Udall and Fort Christiansvaern. We spent two days at Cane Bay which is a wonderful beach. We also spent our Sunday at Sandy Point Wildlife Refuge. Sandy Point is the most amazing, pristine beach we have ever seen. The best part about this cottage was the relaxation it provided. We woke up every morning and had coffee on the deck. We ended every day by reading and listening to the waves outside the cottage. We even caught a sunrise outside the cottage on our last day which was a truly spectacular sight. Chad and Emily were excellent hosts. They were easy to contact with any questions or concerns. My husband and I are not used to the strong sun and we received bad sunburns while there. Emily gave us bottles of Aloe to help with our burns which was so thoughtful . We recommend this property to anyone looking for a beautiful, quiet, luxurious, and safe vacation home on St. Croix. It provides so much more than you could ever get in a hotel or resort stay. We could not have been happier with our entire stay. We are so lucky to have met Chad and Emily (and their dogs) and feel like we made friends on the island. We look forward to our next vacation in this perfect cottage.

  This is the perfect vacation spot. The cottage shares the property with the owner’s home, but is offset to ensure privacy for both owner and guest. Chad and Emily are perfect hosts – they took great care to ensure that their ocean cottage is not only beautiful, but also well appointed (from towel hooks in the bathroom to adequate reading lights throughout) in anticipation of guest’s wants and needs. The kitchen is well equipped if you prefer to eat in or re-heat restaurant leftovers. The cottage is very attractive and tastefully decorated, and the king size bed is new and extremely comfortable. The gated community is quiet and is really quite centrally located. The Island is small and we found that from the cottage, we really could get to Christiansted for dinner in 10 minutes, decent snorkeling in15 minutes, and golf in 20. Perfect for the both of us. Their cottage truly offers the perfect setting for complete relaxation, with a combination of sun, surf and ocean breezes – I could have spent the entire week sitting on the covered patio dividing my time between staring and reading.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

  After a long day of traveling and arriving to the island around nine pm, it was nice to have easy to follow directions from the airport to the cottage provided by Chad and Emily. We were impressed by our first tour of the cottage upon arrival. The photos in the advertisement represented the space accurately. With a king size bed, a fully stocked kitchen and walk in shower we knew we would be more than comfortable for our stay. We could not wait unitl morning to take in the views from the deck. Our first night we enjoyed eats at Salud (recommended by Chad and Emily since it was late, as the resturante was close) and enjoyed a well prepared, savory meal. We tried many of the resturants Chad and Emily suggested for dinners and were never disappointed. We highly recommend Savant just past downtown Chiristiansted (we advise making a reservation). A rental car gave us the opportunity to explore the island on our own time, but a jeep (or any 4x4) would have allowed us to explore the more secluded areas. The drives through the rainforest and along the ocean shore were sights we will never forget. If you are looking for a secure, private, clean and relaxing spot, Ocean Vista cottage provides just that. We fully enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to our friends or family who are looking for a vacation idea. We will always remember the island and cottage as the place we got engaged. We could have not picked a better place for such an event.

Winter Rates November 16th through May 14th - $1,600/week, $250/night

50% of rent is due to hold reservation. Balance due 45 days prior to arrival
