We stayed at this property for 10 days in April 2013. We were very happy with it, and would not hesitate to recommend it. The hosts were friendly, helpful and always available. The fresh scones when we arrived were a very welcome addition to an already homey haven!! The location was fantastic being right between West Broadway St and West 4th Ave. There are lots of restaurants, bars, shopping, groceries, and public transportation to get you wherever you need to go, and all within walking distance. It is an easy walk to both Kitsilano and Jerricho beaches which was a real treat with beautiful views. The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful. The apartment was well appointed, well stocked, with all the comforts of home. The perfect place to stay when visiting beautiful Vancouver.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+.

We stayed in this property for 3 weeks and enjoyed it very much, it was conveniently located as we could walk to : Downtown, the Maritime museum, the beach, Granville Island and to many other places. The owners were very nice and did everything to make our stay agreeable. There was every utensil needed to cook and the only thing I missed were a laundry washing machine and a phone which would have been nice as it would have been easier for me to call my family oversea. The house was clean and everything was in working order. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend or a member of my family. As for restaurants, we didn't go very often but We liked "Nuba" which has Lebanese food and Cactus Cafe Club. We very much enjoyed the Anthropology Museum in the UBC. It was a lovely stay we loved Vancouver.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+.

My mother and I stayed five nights in this lovely garden suite, and we enjoyed every minute. The suite is extremely clean and well organized, and it contained everything we needed, and then some. There is storage galore, and every time we opened a drawer or a closet, we found another hidden treasure (for example, lovely placemats and napkins stored in drawers on the fold-down dining table; children's toys in the end table). My mother has limited mobility (uses a cane) and so we found this suite to be suitably accessible for her; there are only a couple of small steps leading to it. The location was ideal for us, as the purpose of our trip was to visit relatives who live in the Point Grey area. As well, it was a very short walk to West Broadway, where we found anything and everything we needed - pharmacies, supermarkets, wine shops, and many restaurants and bars. The queen-size fold-out futon in the living room was extremely comfortable, as was the queen-size bed in the lovely bedroom. There was tons of lighting throughout the suite, and all the applicances were new and worked well. We would definitely recommend this suite to anyone who plans on visiting Vancouver for a short or long stay.Recommended for: People with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+.

The Kitsilano 1 bedroom garden suite is well situated and extremely clean and well maintained. Enjoyed being walking distance to so many shops and restaurants on West Fourth and Broadway. Short hike up to West 16th street to visit Sweet Obsessions - best cake and pastry shop in Vanouver! City Transit also easily accessible. Well-equipped kitchen allowed us to host small dinner. Co-operative weather allowed us to use the samll patio. Trips to Granville Island and Van Dusen Botanical Gardens a recommendation. Unfortuantely did not get to meet Elaine but Ted a friendly host. Great place to stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Spotlessly clean, newly renovated, charming studio apartment with everything we needed. Everything was very clean, the kitchen was well stocked with utensils etc. The location is in the Kitsilano neighborhood which was clean and felt very safe. We found Vancouver to be relatively small and easy to navigate from this location (we're from Chicago for comparison). It seemed to take 15 minutes by car to get as far as we needed to go. Next time we'll probably skip the rental car since it's a short walk to either 4th Ave or Broadway which are main arteries with public transportation to most anywhere you need to go. If you're a bicyclist this would be a great base too, as you can ride your bike to most of Vancouver from here. This was about the cost of a decent hotel room and so much more for the money. I highly reccommend it, I just hope it's available for the next time I'm in town.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

What a great suite! It is clean, cozy and well decorated! It comfortably fits a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids). Above all, we feel the location is perfect if you are on vacation in Vancouver. It is close to the Vancouver attractions. And there are lots of shops, restaurants nearby. There's even a whole food market on the 4th ave! Thanks for making this wonderful suite available through VRBO!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1975
About the owner: Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, we came to Vancouver and a few years later made Kitsilano our home since 1976. We've raised 3 girls in this house, all who have graduated from UBC.
Why the Owner Chose Kitsilano:
We bought this property because of its location. Kitsilano is the perfect area to have raised our children. Our girls attended the elementary school across the street and later went to the high school about 10 minutes walking distance. The beaches are about a 20 minute walk and UBC is a 20 minute bus ride - our family seldom needed a car to get around.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This neighbourhood is unique in Vancouver in that several of our neighbours are a major part of each other's families. We've been extremely fortunate to have developed such close ties over the years. It is the reason none of us have any desire to leave the area.
