The Mas is a place of luxurious calm, surrounded by grass fields. The 3 apartments have been renovated to a high standard using authentic materials. We are situated in Provence, close to Camargue and the Alpilles Hills, near to the medieval village of Les Baux and only eight kilometres east of Arles. Each apartment is independent and has its own entrance and private south facing terrace. The second bedroom of 'Alpilles' is accessible to disabled persons; its 'en suite' bathroom is suitable for wheelchair. They all overlook a large garden shaded by century old Plane trees: a perfect quiet retreat only disturbed by the cicadas songs. The location is very calm as the closest neighbour is some 300 metres away. The upstairs rooms and bathrooms have breath-taking views of the landscape: grass lands, rows of Cyprus and Plane trees, and in the distance the Alpilles. Teak tanning beds and recliners will invite you to relax around the large communal Chlorine free swimming pool (15m x 7m). A small paddling pool under a light cascade will delight the children. There is a pool house, with its terrace and barbecue.

This accommodation is available throughout the year and includes an open plan kitchen/lounge on the ground floor; a double bedroom with king-size bed, bathroom and separate toilet on the first floor. The second bedroom of 'Alpilles' is accessible to disabled persons; its 'en suite' bathroom is suitable for wheelchair..The first floor bedroom is double volume spaces of 4–5m in height. It has the original round wooden roof beams exposed and restored. The ceilings downstairs all feature the original wooden slats, typical of the area. The stone walls have been exposed. The kitchen is new and high standard. All surfaces are tiled for easy hygienic cleaning. There are ample cupboards for food storage and rental includes all crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and utensils. The kitchen is equipped with a stove, a ceramic hob, extractor fan, microwave oven, dishwasher, kettle. The bathroom has been fully renovated and stone has been searched out that matches those of the original construction.

Mas de l'Hermitage is ideally situated close to the Camargue, the Alpilles hills and the sea. Several beautiful Provence cities are within half hour drive such as Arles, Avignon, Nimes or Aix en Provence. Even closer are the old medieval village of Les Baux de Provence or the typical provencal villages of Fontvieille, Maussane or St Remy. Bird watching is a must in the natural parc of Camargue. Large and quiet beaches are also found in Camargue, which offers as well boat trips on the Rhone river or horse riding through its wild environment. The whole area is famous for its gastronomy and its colourful markets. You can visit wineyards or olive farms nearby. The cultural activities are diversified: Photo exhibitions through summer in Arles, Theatre and dance at the Avignon festival, Music and opera in Aix en Provence...and historical sites from Roman to medieval times all around. Finally, you will be delighted to relax in our beautiful garden and refresh around the swimming pool!
