First time to Maui and will definetely return to Lahaina Shores!!
First time to Maui and will definetely return to Lahaina Shores!!
I am really surprised at any negative comments about this property it was Beautiful. We stayed on the top corner beside the luau which was great a free show every night!! and it ends by 9:00. The unit itself was plenty big enough for two people and the double decks (one overlooking the ocean and the other looking over front street shops, ocean and the mountains) were spectacular we layed in bed and listened to the waves crashing it was amazing!! The kitchen was newer with granite counters a full size fridge and stove and a dishwasher (there was no dishwasher soap provided). The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, cutlery and pots and pans. There is a full bathroom with a separate vanity area. The grounds are maintained every single day and are just beautiful. My complaints (which are very minor) would be that the tiled floors were very dirty, there is a bathtub but there is no plug to keep the water in, there were only 4 towels for both of us for 10 days and you cannot get any from the hotel so you will have to do your own laundry. The restaurant next door starts loading their ice machine at 6:00 am so that was very noisy and annoying, the parking garage was very dingy so try and get parking in the outside lot (there is a wait list), as per previous reviews the hotel hallways are a little dated but really who cares you aren't sleeping in the hallways, they were fine. We loved it here and would absolutely stay here again. This hotel is in the perfect location we walked up and down Front street every night, all of the restaurants and shops are so close. And it is right on the beach. Looking forward to our next trip to Maui!!

We recently stayed at this property in January 2011 for a total of 11 nights. The room itself was satisfactory and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay until the last day. Our last day was an absolute disappointment and an upsetting end to our holiday due to the horrible customer service and the rude manner in which we were treated by the owner agency. Upon booking several months in advance, we spoke with the owner agency back in July 2010 and requested a late checkout of 8pm. This request was accommodated and furthermore confirmed in writing on our confirmation paperwork. On our last day, housekeeping arrived in the early morning, and were confused when we showed them our late check-out confirmation. The owner agency promptly contacted us and indicated that that there was no record of the late checkout, and that we would be required to vacate immediately. We referenced the late checkout confirmation on our paperwork, and the owner agency acknowledged it but indicated that their booking assistant had obviously made a mistake and that they could not honour that arrangement as it was against their policy. We tried to protest, to which they snapped "do you want us to help you or not"? Originally they told us to be out by 11, then they told us by 3pm and then they finally agreed to move us to an alternate room, but made multiple remarks on how this was costing them money, and how this is typically never done for clients. After multiple phone conversations, by mid-afternoon we were finally placed in an alternate room. We understand that mistakes are made, but they can be resolved in a respectful manner. Instead, we were made to feel devalued as clients and have never been spoken to so rudely in the hospitality industry. Last comments: the building is old and tired and in need of a facelift, and the room was satisfactory with a nice view. The front desk staff were pleasant. We caution against dealing with this particular owner agency simply due to their lack of customer service when it counts.

WOW! Amazing place!!
WOW! Amazing place!!
I am not sure what the author of the previous review (Claudia Gaudy) was talking about. This place was AMAZING and squeaky clean! There wasn't any carpet- let alone sticky carpet. The gorgeous granite kitchen area and beautifully tiled bathroom, blow any standard hotel room OUT OF THE WATER!! It is the size of a normal hotel room, perfect for two people. The double balconies were a TOTAL treat; it made the room feel bigger than it actually is AND made it fresh and bright. The room was SPOTLESS and inviting when we arrived. The kitchen is nicely stocked with glassware, dishes, pots/pans etc, cleaning supplies- made it super easy! I loved the fact there weren't ANY food items/spices/ extras left around. Some places like this try to be accomodating and provide the basics- however, for some reason that doesn't sit well with me. I don't like using "community" food/condiments/spices; you never know who used them, how old they were, what people do to them. But then again, that's just my crazy philosophy...so again, I really appreciated the "sterile" yet warm feeling of this studio/condo. The almost 180 degree view of water and neighboring Maui was sooo serene. We come to Maui at least twice a year and will stay here again, again and again!! The grounds were beautiful... and so conveniently located to the hot spots on Front Street. No restaurant on the grounds- but that was fine with us b/c we cooked a lot of our own food... and a TON of great restaurants only a 3 minute walk away. Love love love this place! 5 stars... You don't need to hesitate when thinking about booking this spot!

I have stayed at several VRBO properties over the last few years and have been very impressed with the caliber of care and attention to detail. However, this property most definitely had not been "remodeled" to any degree that was obvious. The lead in comment "Fabulously Remodeled" seems misleading. The photos of the property did not approriatly depict the actual condition of the condo. The bathroom and small kitchen area was clean. However, the carpet was stained and sticky in a couple of places. Nothing in the condo was "well" maintained The room did not smell clean. I did mention to the owner that there were ants in the kitchen and a mouse had gotten in to most of the dry goods I had brought from home. A pest control person came right away and set "sticky" traps for the mice and sprayed for the ants. Unfortunately, I would not feel comfortable referring anyone to this property. I love the lay back and friendly attitude of the locals. There are wonderful places to eat and the beaches and warm waters are what bring me back year after year.
