Each time I stayed at the Country Retreat I enjoyed it for the quiet and peacefulness. I like especially how easy it is to communicate with the owners, I could ask Rita and Russell at any time for tips and hints on where to go next, to explore a new part of this area. Both of them have a very inviting personality and by now I feel like a "part of the family" when I am there. Staying at the Country Retreat is staying in the middle of many great destinations. That made it very convenient, we could visit every day a new place. One day a trip to Estes Park and for some horseback riding in the Rocky Mountain National Park, then the next day to the ‘Boulder mall’ for a great performance of diverse Street performers, yet another day we made a discovery of Fort Collins special restaurants. We visited Lyons annual Folk music festival over a two day period. We enjoyed Loveland’s great sculpture park and stopped at the book and coffee shop on 4th street for a delicious beverage and a well deserved brake. Then, many evenings we enjoyed sitting together outside by the fireplace, talking about our adventures we took that day while getting our hotdogs and marshmallows roasted in the fire. The kids enjoyed watching the birds, toads and little bunnies coming out from under the porch. I liked the cleanliness & how very roomy it is at the Country retreat. The beds are very comfy, the kitchen was fully stocked, there were laundry detergent and fabric softener for the washer & dryer and many more conveniences. And when we had a special wish we just had to ask for it. Thank you for your hospitality. I am from Hamburg, Germany area and stayed for 30 days in Colorado to experience the Rocky Mountains but wanted to be also close to some of the 'normal' environment of Coloradans. It was also important for me to have a good WiFi connection. I loved 'A Country Retreat' for providing all of this. At the same time I was looking for some peace and tranquility but also wanted to be close to stores and night life activity. This place satisfied all my expectations and then some. I especially enjoyed the natural setting of the home out in the country complete with western wild life. I saw a fox, listened to coyotes at night very close by, saw various sized toads, horses and many colorful birds. Several nights the owners would built a warming campfire where we would sit around and share stories under beautiful star filled skies. I also enjoyed going to the close by and amazing fun town of Boulder where many street performers entertained us with very exciting performances. One day we drove into the Rocky Mountains National Park to enjoy nature at its best. At the end of the day it was always great to come home to our American country retreat home which quite ideally supported our needs. We enjoyed the open architecture of the house along with all of its many amenities. The three porches were great for taking in the various views. The screened in porch in the front of the house with its northern view was a wonderful place to hang out, especially at night. The open kitchen floor plan allowed us to make food and watch TV at the same time. The big master bedroom upstairs with a sitting area was great. The two downstairs bedrooms along with the oversized office desk and exercise equipment were appreciated. I can highly recommend this place for rest, relaxation, natural wonders and nearby shopping in a cozy atmosphere.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing.

We were very happy with our stay at A Country Retreat. The home and its central location made everything perfect. It was relaxing to come home to to a beautifully decorated and immaculate home rather than a cold hotel environment. The amenities were exactly as stated. The owner's seem to have a knack for thinking about everything that supports creature comforts from hair dryers, games, good lights for reading, and even a high-chair for our visiting grandchild. We thoroughly enjoyed sharing family time here. We were able to to easily gather around the large table in the dining area. Watch movies from the comfortable European leather couches. And even sat out on the screened in front porch and enjoyed the beautiful spring afternoon in this quiet and peaceful rural setting. We're already looking forward to our next stay.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed in this comfortable home with our four young granddaughters for a week over Thanksgiving. The owners were anxious to make us feel at welcome and comfortable. Our eight year old granddaughter declared the house "lovely". All of the kids said they hoped we would stay there again. We highly recommend this home for anyone looking for a relaxing and spacious place to stay.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
