Truly our home away from home. Our clan has been staying in the Cozy Nostra for ten years. Our sons think of this has our second home. Summer fills the air with pine trees and activities around the lake but our last visit with the snow falling was the best. Some of us ran off to heavenly to ski, others went to rent snow mobiles while the rest of us stayed happily in the cabin with a cozy fire, playing games and baking yummy foods that we normally avoid when not on vacation. This is the best deal we could hope for as we play host to family and friends. This is a jewel - picture perfect! Thanks!Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.

I have stayed at the Cozy Nostra Lodge in South Lake Tahoe on several occasions. My last trip was perhaps the best of all. It was with a group of eight "best friends" and we simply did the best of all there is to do. For me, that means having my coffee in the morning, sitting in the sun on the front porch watching the world wake up, then planning the days activities. One of my favorite summer activities is to rent a pontoon boat on nearby Fallen Leaf Lake and cruise around the lake with lunch, laughter and liberal libations on board! When we are all spent from the hectic pace (it only goes about 5 mph!) we can move to adjacent Angora Lake - an easy hike with delicious home made lemonade at the top, to reward your climb. After that, it's back to Cozy Nostra Lodge (feels like our summer home) to prepare the evening meal. Inevitably we barbeque (great new gas grill this year - thx!) and as the lights go down, the chiminea goes on, to let us cozy up fireside after dinner and share the latest news of friends and loved ones. Feels like camping with creature comforts :) Cozy Nostra Lodge has a great mix of bedrooms/bathrooms - so singles, couples and kids can all be accommodated comfortably. There is good parking - which with a group can be an issue elsewhere. It has all the amenities you want for a relaxing break away and is surrounded by one of the most gorgeous natural resort areas - the Tahoe basin. If you have to bring work with you :( there is high speed wifi and the usual modern amenities (big screen TV, DDV Player, CD Stereo, etc). The place is big enough too, that if you want to get away and read your book in peace, you can find a spot pretty easily. If you're wanting your own getaway place without the headache and cost of actual ownership, this is it. I'm a repeat guest. We're planning our next trip now - yay!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.
Owner response: WOW! You guys are welcome back again and again. How you describe your time makes us want to be there with you. FUN!

Our group of 6 adults and 3 kids were pleased from the time we arrived. Some of us had stayed here over 10 years ago and wanted to come back because the place is so homey. The improvements and updates since then are incredible. This is a user friendly home with a good cabin feel. The kids could play outside in the beautiful yard. The adults spread out to chill. And our "cooks" turned out some incredible meals in the well stocked kitchen. We'll be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.
Owner response: So glad that you had a great time! You are welcome back anytime. Thank you so much for your addition of the "Bear/Moose" potholders to the kitchen -- CUTE!

Our family group of 10 just spent a 4 day weekend at the Cozy Nostra Lodge. From the minute that we walked in we felt at home, kind of as though we had arrived at Grandpa and Grandma's cabin. The kids were all safe in the beautiful backyard which has nice grass, plants, and flowers. We Bar-B-Qued everynight and then sat around a "campfire" in the cast iron chiminea. My wife loved all of the equipment in the kitchen. Seems like there are two of everything that you need and we could all fit around the dining room table when we weren't eating outside at the picnic table. I went down early every morning and got my latte' at the local bagel shop two blocks walk away. It was also convenient for us to be able to walk with the kids to the beach at the lake. We will be back again, for sure. The price is so reasonable for all that you get. Thanks so much!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.

This cabin/lodge is a regular vacation spot for me and my friends/family. Doesn't matter if it snows, hails, or the sun shines (all of the above last visit) there is always something to do and many ways to relax in the warm, cozy cabin. It is amazingly well-stocked. Comfortable rooms for 10 adults, and more on sofas. Feels like there is history and lots of love in this roomy cabin on south shore.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.

Owner info
About the owner: Our family takes great pride in and loves this house where we have been gathering for special occasions for generations. Most of our guests grow to feel the same way and come back year-after-year. Many of them have started to refer to the Cozy Nostra Lodge as 'our house.'
Why the Owner Chose Al Tahoe:
Our family has enjoyed Tahoe for generations. Each season of the year is different and has unique aspects and allure. Just when you start to think that you like it in winter the best you have a knock-out summer experience that starts the debate all over again. When you walk into the Cozy Nostra Lodge you feel immediately like you've come back home.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Our house is spacious and spread out which is good for large family groups to be able to have their 'own space' yet feel that they are a part of the group. The openness of the floor plan let's you be able to see what is going on yet not be on top of one another. Gathering around the large dining room table for special meals often turns into hours of conversation, joke telling, friendly teasing and wine drinking, of course.
