Magical artist renovated 1920's Vineyard cottage on the ocean with spectacular views. Upscale, beautifully decorated with both charm and comfort. Tastefully furnished living room and open kitchen dining area with cathedral ceilings and fabulous water views. Decks, ' at the edge '. On a 20' cliff that provides privacy, yet a mere 30 feet from the edge. A powerful sound of the surf lulls you to sleep. Centrally located in Chilmark, the Up Island choice, near the Community center with tennis courts, camp, sailing lessons. One mile from the house are eating choices, Library and Post Office and the camp for the children and film night and lectures. Three miles in the other directions are the famous Gayhead cliffs and Wampanoag Territory with eating choices and beaches and biking. Kayaking is two minutes across the street.
A bus runs every hour down island if you dont want to drive. Great Shopping and Restaurants and farmers markets and flea markts and glass blowing available.
This is a perfect beach cottage. While it has all the amenities, it has a charm with the original part of the cottage with a stone fireplace buildt from the beach stones. For those who want to be at the beach without going down to the sand, you simply sit on the porch and you are there. There is a grill and picnic table and if you cook in you have the best view on the Island. Larsen's fish market and the fresh farmers market can supply all you need for a meal. You must have breakfast at the Gayhead Cliffs one morning, and have the fried green tomato BLT at the State Road, then cross the street to watch the glass blowing. Shop in Vineyard Haven at Carley Simon's, Midnight Farm and shop on main street.
