  We recently got back from On The Rocks and debated if I should leave a review. Before we went I thought it was odd that there were so few. I'll tell you why...people are keeping it a secret. Many of the guests go back year after year. In the guest book some people have been back for 10 years in a row! And most have been back multiple times. As other reviews said, the property was spotless. Truly we felt that we could eat off the floor. The property is more than adequate. The rooms are large, including the bathrooms and the beds comfortable. The linens are all good quality so the comfort is like being at home. The main reason that I am writing this is to prepare you for a surprise we had. We arrived with all we needed in tow. Literally. Poor Margaret had to help us to her SUV and load it all in. We have been at other places and found we were missing key ingredients to make it a perfect vacation. So instead of having anything to disappoint, we brought it all. Yes, there is everything there except your clothes and food. There are beach chairs, coolers, beach towels, all snorkeling equipment you need in various sizes, beach bag, everything for the kitchen. Everything. Margaret even has sunscreen and bug spray set out. So don't lug it all. Just bring your clothes - and you don't need much of that on this casual, perfect, island. Margaret is kind, friendly and absolutely full (FULL) of information about the whole island including where to eat, what to do, etc. Go. You won't be sorry. And everyone else, you better book soon, so all of these readers don't beat you!

  We had 2 adult couples, and this was perfect for us!! It's location, location, location for sure! Close enough to Cruz Bay, yet far away enough. Very clean, well maintained, and has all the items you'll need for your stay (beach chairs, towels, local guide books, books to read, coolers, games, gas grill etc). Pool and beach right there for you- great sunset views every night.... Margaret was a gracious hostess, very helpful and yet we never felt her presence. We haven't re-booked yet but would love to go back tomorrow! This is a real gem!

  On The Rocks was the perfect vacation retreat for our family. The villa was spacious, with good separation of the two large master suites. It would be great for two couples travelling together, or for a family, like ours. The owner, Margaret, is the embodiment of St. John. She was a gracious and facilitating hostess with information on absolutely EVERYTHING. We knew which days were best at beaches and restaurants as well as which activities we should pursue or we could skip. The villa was well equipped and the sun deck was beautiful with a great little pool to relax in at the end of a fun filled day or in the evening. The views are spectacular! The beach, just steps from the sundeck had good snorkeling and was also great for early morrning reading in a beach chair. We could not have asked for a better location. On the Rocks is an easy drive from town and shoppping, yet located nicely at the end of the road so we had great privacy. We can't wait to go back and have already booked our trip for next year. We found a real gem.
