About the owner: My Husband and I live in Maple Ridge where he is an active realtor and I am contently retired after having taught elementary school for 33 years. I am doing volunteer work now at our local Hospice and am finding it extremely rewarding. We are very lucky in that our parents were in the armed forces, Mark's in the Canadian Army and mine in the United States Navy, so we have the experience of living in several different places. Mark lived in Calgary, Victoria, Montreal, Germany, Burnaby, Hudsons Hope, Fort St. John and Maple Ridge. I probably forgot a few. I lived in North Carolina, New York, Japan, Bremerton, Tacoma, Spokane, several places around BC and finally in Maple Ridge. We have done many wide and varied jobs from mill worker to fine jewelry salesperson to bartender to small parcel deliverer. We were both teachers. Mark was at one time the District Principal of Special Services in Fort St. John then moved to Maple Ridge to take a job as a resource teacher. From there he became the head of the District Behaviour Team. Now he is a realtor, so I guess you could say he now deal with 'some' adult behaviour problem - note, I said just some. Most people he works with are absolutely delightful! As I said, I was an elementary teacher for 33 years, teaching everything from kindergarten to grade 7, fine arts prep, computers, library, ESL, Language Enhancement and much more. We have four fabulous kids and five incredible grandchildren!!! Keep tuned in for the ongoing saga of "grandkids"! Who knows how many we may have at this time next year. But now we have a quiet house except when all the kids and grandkids descend. We have a Lab/Husky that we adopted from the SPCA, named 'Doug'. Mark wanted to have 'Beware of Doug' signs made up. We also have a ginger marmalade cat named Arlo, also from the SPCA. While you are at Unit 115, 5401 Lakeshore Drive, we invite you to come in, relax, unwind and leave the cares of the world behind you.

Why the Owner Chose Osoyoos:
I was there years ago with my father, his wife and my kids when they were very young. Osoyoos just had a certain feel to it. It's hard to describe but it almost felt like it was inviting you to return. It had a warmth to it and I don't mean the air temperature. It just felt cozy and comfortable. Every time I go there I just have this feeling like I can let down and relax.

The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
Osoyoos was established as a customs point on the Canada-US border. It is a town of many faces. Its location is on Osoyoos Lake and is surrounded by grasslands, highlands and mountains. People come to Osoyoos for water activities, golf, hiking and cycling in summer and downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter. They also come for wine tasting and dining, to learn about the endangered desert ecology and the Okanagan First Nations. Osoyoos: Little B.C. desert town a big draw For retirees who choose Osoyoos, the major draw is, without question, the weather. The semi-arid desert of this border town means temperatures soar above 25 C in summer months and seldom drop lower than -5 C in winter months. That means it’s got outdoor advantages, including cycling, boating, golf and wine tours, but one can still ski in nearby Oliver. Cross-border shopping is a five-minute trip away. Albertans still drive much of the Osoyoos market, both those who work part-time and retirees who are looking to avoid winter weather. It’s only a half-hour flight from Calgary to Penticton.
