Our house is located, literally, at the end of the road. We own 5 acres, but the house surrounded by nothing except forests, including US Forest Service land. The access is through a well maintained gravel road, which travels through the woods for 1/3 of a mile. Once you get out of the car, you'll want to take a view from the porch before unloading the car.
The house has 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms, TV and DVD player, with small library of movies, books, and games. There is no cable or internet access. Also there is no telephone. Verizon users will have some coverage, but other users may not get cell phone signal.
The master bedroom and master bath are on the main floor. They both have views of the mountains, even from the Jacuzzi tub. The master bedroom has a king sized bed. The other bedroom on the main floor has a queen sized bed, and opens to a screened-in porch, complete with hammock.
The lower level has a den. In addition, the third bedroom has a queen sized bed and mountain views. The fourth bedroom has two sets of double bunk beds, where the lower beds are double beds, and the upper beds are twin sized beds.
There is a full bathroom on the lower level.
Kitchen is fully equipped. There is also a washer and dryer.
The house has air conditioning, although during the nights the cool air rushes down the side of the mountain and ceiling fans have always been sufficient for us (most nights we need to pull the covers).

Very easy process using VRBO. The rental home was extremely nice, the process for rental was easy, reminders were sent by VRBO, all in all very pleasant and I would highly recommend over renting through an agency.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

The setting is a wonderful location for a Mountain stay. The home is comfortable and well supplied. You have great privacy at the end of the road. Cell signal is minimal at best but if you want to get away from the world this is not a problem. The sunsets are spectacular this time of year. The driveway is a bit steep in a few places. As long as your not pulling a heavy trailer with a standard vehicle it is not a problem. A strong truck or 4 wheel drive vehicle is recommended if pulling a heavy Motorcycle trailer. Experienced Motorcycle drivers will have no serious problems negotiating the driveway. We had a great time and really enjoyed the cool mountain air and views from High Meadows. This is a great location for a group of people wanting to enjoy some of the country's best motorcycle roads, the clear Santeetlah Lake or Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest. I would stay there again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2007
About the owner: We bought this house simply because we fell in love with it the first time we saw it. We, our daughters, families and friends have many great memories of long weekends with, bonfires, swimming in the lake, hiking, and just having great times. Our two dogs also love the house and its surroundings. There are few things better than sitting on the porch swing first thing in the morning, looking at the mist coming off the lake, with the mountains rising above it, while sipping your first cup of coffee.
Why the Owner Chose Robbinsville:
There are many fine homes in the area, but few will have the views of High Meadows, and none will enjoy more privacy. The house is very well built and comfortable.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
High Meadows has unsurpassed privacy. You can hear every bird call and, when it rains the two branches on either side of the property become very noisy. In the evenings, when you sit on the porch you can feel the cool air rushing down the side of the mountain, while the lighting bugs put on the show!
