A perfect blend of classic Florida charm and stylish modern living make this waterfront cottage the perfect vacation getaway home.
Norma Talmadge bought the home in 1945. She was the lengendary silent film star who was making $10,000/week in 1923; which made her one of, if not the highest, paid film star of her day. Her career was ruined when 'talkies' arrived due to the thick Brooklyn accent she was unable to lose. The film, 'Singing in the Rain' was based upon her life.
Nearly 70 years after her residence, this home is still fit for a star, with no expense spared for new-world comfort. The front door opens into the formal lounge, a spacious sun-lit room complete with a working fireplace. Step through a short hall, with wainscoating on the right and a wall of tinted mirror to the left, to find a dining room with a luxuriously large circular table.
The kitchen features tiled countertops and a butcherblock top for the functional island. Stainless steel appliances and a Keurig coffee maker are just a few of the 'too many to mention' conveniences for the Chefs in the house.
While the master chef's prepare a meal, the rest of your party can relax in the adjacent Florida room without missing out on the conversation. Sliding glass doors open up to a huge back porch area with a fire pit and plenty of seats to entertain family and guests alike. Experience a precious Florida sunrise or wine and dine the night away with a breathtaking waterfront view of Boca Ciega Bay with the vast night sky stretched over your heads.
And don't forget to bring your boat! At the back of the porch is the home's private dock, with easy access to the bay and Gulf of Mexico.
When the night is done, retreat to one of the three cozy bedrooms. Upstairs you will find the master bedroom with its King sized bed and wall-mounted HDTV. The Master Bathroom is a step down from the Master Bedroom. It has dual sinks; built-in storage for clothing and linens under the window bank; a glass block walk-in shower; and a fabulous whirlpool tub. Also attached to the master bedroom is a private balcony, the perfect place to have a morning coffee as the sun rises up from the horizon to your east.
The second upstairs bedroom has a queen sized bed and ample storage space. On the attached balcony, nestled in the palms and separate from that of the master bedroom's, you will find a bar-height table with chairs and another spectacular water view.
The third bedroom is downstairs, and includes two extra-long twin beds to accommodate the rest of your party. Easy access to the downstairs bathroom and kitchen make this room perfect for the night-owls of the group.
With everything you need for a magical and memorable Florida vacation, there's no place quite like this one in Pass a Grille beach!
