The Arbor is an ideal spot to rest, recoup and regenerate ones energy. It is in Jamaica Plains a lovely residential neighborhood @20 min downtown Boston. Actually it's half a block to the main walking area with restaurants and shops. The apartment was immaculate, towels thick and fluffy, appliances new and sparkling...and the decor calming and restful. I enjoyed my few days there and my sister and husband visited and it was a perfect size. The bathroom was cozy. Altogether this was a lovely place to stay and I may be back when i visit my grandson.

Owner response: The Arbor Side certainly provides a relaxing atmosphere after a day of sightseeing, work, attending a conference, etc. I especially want to thank the guest for mentioning the proximity to Jamaica Plain's main streets: South and Centre Streets. As stated, the apartment is just a half-block away from everything from a bus stop to a restaurant and whole foods market to bicycle rentals.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Arbor Side. The condo had plenty of room for the two of us, was decorated beautifully and was immaculate. The kitchen is new, modern and well equipped with lovely dishes, glassware and every appliance or pan one might need. Having a formal living room and den was so convenient. The bathroom is tiny and the tub/shower small but well maintained. The owner and Home Away were excellent communicators and even when we were arriving just after a major snow storm, they made sure we knew exactly what to expect. The driveway had been plowed and there was a space for our car! We would definitely recommend this property to a friend or relative as long as they were "Bed and Breakfast" people. It is comfortable, convenient and charming. We were visiting relatives who live in JP, so location was very important to us. It was very easy to get around to museums and other attractions in Boston for the condo, since it is within walking distance of two "T" stops. We went to the pub at the end of the street at McBride and Center on Sunday evening where there is a jam session for Irish musicians every week. The food was good and the music-terrific!

Owner response: Besides the advantages of The Arbor Side's proximity to public transportation, the guest's comments about the pub at the corner of street (James's Gate) is worth remembering. Besides the great live music on the pub side of the restaurant on Sunday evenings, there's a gallery of rotating art in the fine dining side and in the summer a lovely outdoor dining space adjacent to the pub side.

My husband and I stayed in JP to visit our son. This apartment was within walking distance of shops and restaurants yet the neighborhood is quiet. We loved the interior of this space, particularly the living room which is the high point. It is open, bright and faces the street. The apartment is spotless and full of charming decor. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

My husband and I stayed in this cozy, well-kept apartment for an extended stay Nov-Dec. Though small, the apartment was extremely clean, had everything we needed, was very comfortable and was perfect for us. Best of all, both the owner (Lance) and property manager were extremely helpful and answered any questions we had throughout our stay. We loved the JP experience! We took daily walks through the Arboretum or around Jamaica Pond, and stopped for coffee and muffins almost every day at Fiore's Bakery. We ate at so many excellent places (that we walked to!) there isn't enough room to mention them all! Some standouts were Vee Vee's, Center Street Cafe, City Feed, The Haven and Oola's. We will definitely go back.

                                            Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway.

Owner response: As noted, The Arbor Side is a cozy and comfortable stay perfect for a couple, a couple of friends, or a small family. Additionally noted, there are many amenities within walking distance: restaurants, shops, markets, and green spaces. And, the apartment's proximity to public transportation makes it an easy and relatively quick way to either get into the city or out to the southwestern suburbs.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this rental property. It was very cozy, clean and well maintained. Owner was very creative with the space. It is a small condo that is ideal for a couple or a couple with a child. There is a full size bed in the bedroom and then a queen size pull out in the den. Kitchen is well appointed with all the needs for cooking; which we did alot. We were here for a week so we took advantage of the dresser and closet space for clothes. The bathroom is small but a linen closet is available for toiletries/blow dryer etc. The den is great for reading, watching tv or relaxing. My husband's only complaint is no ESPN on the cable. He got over that quickly; too much to do! Jamaica Plain is a great suburb of Boston. The subway and bus are within walking distance to get to downtown Boston. The Arnold Arboretum is also a short walk and should be enjoyed during a stay. There are many locally owned shops and restuarants to try. We used the Harvest Co-op for groceries which was a very short walk from the condo. We would rent this property again; hopefully soon! I would also recommend to friend or family.

Owner response: Since this guest's stay, the cable has been upgraded; otherwise, her comments are consistent with my goal to create a warm, comfortable abode for a short respite while being in the middle of a number of great amenities from public transportation to fine dining, beautiful public parks to shopping.

The apartment is located in a safe and hip neighborhood only a short walk from public transportation. Everything was well organized and the place was very clean when we arrived. What we did not like was that the apartment was pretty much packed with the owners own stuff. There was one empty closet to store clothes and the fridge to store food. That was it - not very practical and somewhat awkward too. With less stuff in it the apartment would be a nice place to stay in Boston but like this I would not recommend it to a friend.

Owner response: In a follow-up email to this guest, I learned that he had sent an email to me during his visit that I, unfortunately, never received. Thinking I had ignored his response he provided this review. I learned afterward that he felt there was not enough room for guests dry goods in kitchen cabinets, which has been remedied by making more room by eliminating other items. In addition to the large closet mentioned in the review, there is also a closet in the wall unit in the den and a large bureau in the living room for additional clothes storage. Luckily, we were able to address his concerns and settled on friendly terms.

We booked this place for my parents during their week-long stay in Boston for my wedding. The location is nice; as advertized it's a short walk to the Arnold Arboretum, the MBTA Orange line, and some nice restaurants in JP. The owner Lance was helpful and accommodating. The unit itself was impeccably clean when we arrived. It is very tastefully decorated in a classic style, but with some nice modern touches. You can tell a lot of thought has been put in to the design and layout of the space. The unit would be best suited for a couple but is large enough to entertain a small group of ~6 people comfortably. My folks were very happy during their stay. Overall I'd be happy to recommend the Arbor Side to a couple visiting the area and would happily book it again myself for visitors to the area.

Owner response: As stated by the gentleman who reserved The Arbor Side for his parent's visit, the apartment is well-suited to couples. In addition, the space has worked well for single parents with one or two children, though couples with one or two children have found it comfortable, too.
