The Littlehouse is located less than 10 minutes off of Highway One, and is accessible by a good road in all seasons. It is situated in a redwood forest in a canyon along a tumbling stream. Pleasantly isolated, it enjoys sunny days and cool nights. Its amenities, delightful furnishings, full kitchen, gas fireplace, luxurious bed and bath, generous closet area, washer/dryer, private deck, are appropriate for either short or long term visits. Coastal and forest hiking trails and scenic beaches are nearby. Carmel with its delightful shops and many restaurants is a short drive away as is the Big Sur Village, Nepenthe and Pfeiffer Beach . Simply a delight.
Marketing these days is too much with us. Flowery modifiers, lyrically poetic descriptions, vivid adjectives wash over us all day, everyday. I can't take it. Just know that the LittleHouse is a special lodging in a beautiful place.

Tucked away in a redwood canyon up among the redwoods, the little house is a piece of art! The architecture, attention to detail makes you feel like you are in a 5 star hotel. Surrounded by the redwoods and only the sound of a stream is mesmerizing. The owners were so helpful, even calling from town to see if we needed anything. Sitting on the balcony eating breakfast or reading a book makes you forget about the frenzy of daily life. Be sure to visit Point lobos and see whales, otters, and seals. Have lunch by the river in Big sur and have a glass of wine at the Post Ranch Inn where we saw 5 whales below thru the clear water. If you like nature and relaxation you could not find a better place. Thanks Jerry and Maureen- we look forward to returning.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

I can’t wait to return to the LittleHouse! I recently spent two nights there with my boyfriend and I wish it could have been more. While the space looks small from the outside, the interior is very well designed and tastefully furnished. We loved cooking dinner in the well appointed kitchen with the fire going, listening to music on the iPod dock, and watching movies from the DVD collection the evening. The upstairs was my favorite part of the house—the bed was incredibly comfortable and it was lovely waking up to the trees out the window and through the skylight. And the deck off the bedroom was perfect for happy hour! The owners were very kind, thoughtful, and easy to work with, but not intrusive; the experience was still very private. The only thing I wish I’d brought were slippers—even if its warm on the coast it’s pleasantly cool back in the redwoods. I’ll definitely be back!Did you find this review helpful? The Little House was exactly what we needed. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful and relaxing. We recommend this spot to everyone looking to get away from the busyness of life yet not too far from the beach or hiking. We loved the ability to cook our own meals and made use of their movie library. Just perfect for a couple's get-away!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

My husband and I loved staying at the little house and would definitely like to come back. The house is in the most beautiful forest and is so peaceful and relaxing. The owners did an amazing job designing and decorating the house. Although it was small, it felt very spacious and we felt like we had everything we would possibly need. It was an amazing little getaway!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

A lovely little house deep in the woods with a melodic creek running far below. The house was attractively furnished with a super comfortable bed, modern and spotless bathroom, and lots of interesting books and DVDs just in case you forgot to bring your own. The kitchen had just enough accessories to prepare breakfast, lunch or dinner, and Gerald and Maureen provided ingredients for breakfast on the first day. If you are looking for a quiet place away from the hustle and bustle of the city. . . and don't mind climbing stairs up to this magical little abode . . . the Little House in the Redwoods is for you!Did you find this review helpful? This place is amazing! We enjoyed our stay so much. The location is magical, the owners are friendly and helpful, and the house is beautiful. They even have WiFi so bring your laptops. The reason they don't want kids staying isn't because they don't want them ruining their house; there are a lot of steep steps leading to the place, a high balcony to sit on and a hot old fashion fireplace in the kitchen. We would have loved to stay here much longer, there is a lot to do in the area. Thank you again Jerry and Maureen.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The Littlehouse in the Redwoods not only met but exceeded our expectations! what a rare treat to be high in the redwood canopy on the deck off the bedroom just listening to the birdsong and unwinding! The Littlehouse was a wonderful retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern life - lovely amenities and furnishings from the cushy towels, to the fur throw on the bed - all lovingly put together to make our stay special. The owners provided a warm welcome and great breakfast foods that saw us through our weekend stay. Lovely beaches and hikes nearby and the breathtaking views of the ocean and cliffs along the way. The experience of staying at the Littlehouse is one we won't soon forget - and we'll be back again for sure. It was the perfect antidote to living the fast paced modern life we can all get caught up in. A true gem!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Gerry and Maureen did a wonderful job creating a modern retreat in the middle of the forest. Off the 1 highway, about 15 minutes into the woods, the Littlehouse packs high end amenities and design into its small but roomy frame. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed cooking together for most of our meals, just be sure to stock up before heading up the road to the house. Our hosts were kind enough to supply hiking maps, which we definitely took advantage of. We will definitely be back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My husband and I stayed at the Littlehouse and absolutely loved it. It was the third leg of our trip to California and provided the rest and relaxation we were looking for to end our trip. The house has a wonderful layout that incorporates all the luxuries of home in a small but comfortable place. It was like having the run of a small B&B, only with high end touches and modern design. While the owners are steps below this treasure, we found them to be pleasant and helpful, but not at all instrusive. (They were there if you needed them but we rarely saw them). The redwoods are breathtaking and the Littlehouse takes full advantage of this highlight. There are lots of windows to frame the redwoods, however, they are positioned in such a way to allow you privacy. You certainly won't find any hotel that can duplicate the Littlehouse environment. I would recommend this place to anyone interested in having the comforts of home while living amongst the redwoods.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My boyfriend and I came here to get away and enjoy a peaceful relaxing romantic time. We recommend anyone considering a visit to the area to stay here, especially over a chain type of lodgeing. Set deep in the woods and high up as others have mentioned, it is a very private location, which is just what we were looking for. Windows are scattered everywhere to welcome the gorgeous green view, and no fear of others looking in. The layout and attention to detail and design are very impressive. This little treehouse is like a nice apartment in the city. Very roomy and the upgraded kitchen and bath are pleasing to the senses. Besides all of this, the location is in the middle of alot of things one might like to do in the area, being about 20 minutes or so from attractions in Carmel, Monterey, or Big Sur. We stayed here most of the time as there is no need to leave! You feel like you're at home. The owners are great, informative, and go above and beyond to ensure you enjoy your stay, without being intrusive. We are so happy we got to experience this special place and can't stop telling people about it.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
