Our Lake Como Cottage a year round lakefront home on a private Lake, where you can enjoy secluded lake views. With 2 bedrooms down and 2 more upstairs, the layout sleeps 8 guests comfortably: 2 queen beds in the lake view first and second floor bedrooms, then two twins in the remaining bedrooms. We are pet friendly and allow up to 2 dogs, but no other four or two legged species. We cater to families and responsible adults that enjoy the outdoor experience the area has to offer. There is sufficient space and opportunities for mountain bikers, with a local Rails-to-Trails system, access to several State Gamelands and State Fish Commission Lakes with boat launch facilites, and we're 15 minutes from the world class trout fishing found in the West Branch of the Delaware River. As 4 season offering, the location makes for a great getaway destination for NYC, Philadelphia and NJ visitors. We are very convenient to area summer camps and accommodate parent visits. While Summer is our peak season, visiting for the Fall Foilage or downhill and cross country skiing, snow shoeing or snowmobiling are possibilities during the Winter. We are approximately 25-30 minutes east of Elk Mountain Ski Resort (Pennsylvania's Best) and near the Sno Trails System that has over 200 miles of trails. As locals, feel free to call us to discuss any special interests or needs we can help you with.

We had an excellent Thanksgiving stay at Jim and Carrie's Lake Como home. The house is spacious and super cozy. It's thoughtfully equipped with everything you'll need for a pleasant stay — from firewood to every kitchen gadget imaginable. We were there during the colder months, so we couldn't take advantage of a lot of the outdoor amenities, but there's a short trail leading into the woods for walking, and a dock and canoe for all your lake-fun pleasure. We also saw a grill and two picnic tables for outdoor dining. As far as getting away, Small towns Honesdale and Hancock are a quick drive away. There you can find lots of antiquing (especially in Honesdale) and a few restaurants. One of our favorites was the Bluestone Grill in Hancock. We'd definitely recommend a stay here, or at their other cabin in Lake Summit (#299065).Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with young children, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We absolutely loved this cottage and can't wait to come back. The pictures do not do this cottage and lake justice. The sunsets are remarkable! This cottage is clean, well-stocked and has everything you would need (I over packed but next time will leave 1/2 of the supplies I brought at home). We had a great time on the lake, enjoyed using the canoe and just floating around. The dogs enjoyed the open space and it was nice to not have to worry about car traffic since the cottage is at the end of the dirt road. Jim was great to deal with and responded to every question we had. Looking forward to coming back and thanks again for everything.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

The cottage is situated at the end of the dirt road right on the lake and very private! The dock is fun to jump off of into the lake or just sit and relax. The house itself is nothing fancy, but clean and much nicer thsn the pictures. It is very secluded and not really much around. If youre looking to relax and swim this is the place. You can not beat the location!! Also fun for the dogs!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Heather, Thanks for your review and we're glad you enjoyed your stay. It's been a great first summer for this new listing and we look forward to the upcoming fall foilage and ski seasons. We are hoping to have a woodstove insert installed in the fireplace by winter and can't wait to do some snow shoeing. If you are a downhill skier and didn't know it, Elk Mountain Ski resort is nearby. Anyway, we hope to be able to accommodate your family again sometime and keep in touch! Jim & Carrie

About the owner: We are local residents to the Lake Como area. As liftetime northeast Pennsylvania residents, we are knowledgeable of the area and can help our guests with any questions or information they seek.
Why the Owner Chose Lake Como:
This cottage is unique due to its tranquil setting on a private lake. Being at the end of the road on this side of the Lake, it's secluded and simply a beautiful environment to spend time in.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Peace and tranquillity, but also a setting where families can enjoy the great outdoors. As shown in the pictures, this is one of the best lakefront settings we've seen. Being able to walk to the closest resturant, or take a 5 minute drive to the closest dairy bar are also nice benefits.
