A great vacation!
A great vacation!
Our family had a great time renting this condo. The condo has a sw facing beach view, which we loved! It allowed us to watch the storms and had wonderful privacy from the neighbors. Some previous reviews mentioned the sea bird sanctuary. We loved it! The nesting skimmers in the beach were noiser than any bird in the sanctuary. We enjoyed watching both the sea bird sanctuary and the skimmers. This condo has VERY quiet windows and patio doors. It could not have been more quiet. Location was great for beach access, you could walk down 1 flight if stairs and be at your parking space or the beach. The unit was very clean and the furnishings nice. Kitchen is what I expected and totally functional. We were extremely happy with this rental. We hope to rent it again next year!

Beware of bird sanctuary next door
Beware of bird sanctuary next door
The condo we were in had great views of the ocean and was very nicely decorated. The pool area area was well maintained and the pool was clean and warm. Had it not been for the ODOR coming from the BIRD SACTUARY next door, we would have tried to rent the unit again next year. HOWEVER, the odor was so bad that my wife rarely sat out on the balcony or wanted the balcony door open. We also didn't use the shower off the master bedroom because the shower curtain went from floor to ceiling letting no light into the bathing area making it very dark. We also had to leave the shower curtain partially open in the second bathroom for light and observed some black mold. There was also a shortage of flatware such as having only three tea spoons and limited sharp cutting knives. The dinnerware is a mix of different patterns and sizes. We loved the area and have rented a different condo for next year away the the bird sanctuary.

Owner response: As new owners, we appreciate constructive feedback and respond as needed to things we can. However, we can only respond to statements of fact. Unfortunately, on VRBO the only way to address inaccurate and unrealistic feedback is to “call it out” and challenge it in a response. One of the reasons we liked this unit was the bird sanctuary. We spent time here in April and May ’12 before buying to ensure that the sanctuary was not an issue. Since then we have spent time here in Oct ’12 and Feb ’13. The bottom line is there is a bird sanctuary next door. If you don’t like birds or are hyper-sensitive, this unit is not for you. If you are like us and most other travelers, the birds will provide entertainment and be a curiosity on the back balcony with little if any offensive smell. We inspected the unit the day this traveler left. Claims of mold are simply not true. We have the unit professionally cleaned at our expense after each use. The carpets are professionally steam cleaned every 6 months regardless of occupancy. That being said, we have addressed other issues raised that have basis in reality. These include: • Replacing all of the mismatched silverware with Pfaltzgraff (there are now two complete sets). • Adding a complete knife set and removing any knives found to be inadequate. • Adding new cutting boards. • Replacing the blender with a professional grade Cuisinart. • Replacing drinking glasses • Replacing the dishwasher (Feb ’13). • Shower lighting improved by pulling back the decorative curtain so one must actively want to use it, as opposed to in-use being the default. • Replacing the tube television in the master bedroom with a 32” flat screen smart TV. Our objective is to have a wonderful place for us to visit and allow others the experience when we are not there. We have updated the site with current photos (March ’13) as a testament to the condition of the unit.
This condo is in a warm and welcoming condo community that guaranteed us a good month. The condo itself was well furnished and comfortable. The Gulf front location provided us wonderful views and breezes, easy access to the beach, and the bird sanctuary next door provided us all alot of entertainment. The beach was newly refurbished with sand and so hard packed at water's edge that it made for great walking and blissful biking. New heated pool and spa were heavenly and the huge pool patio was great for partying. The Trolley that travels the whole Sun Coast was a very convenient and cheap mode of transportation. The bathrooms and kitchen have not been upgraded, but any problems we encountered were dealt with very swiftly and the building's maintenance was exceptional.......everything clean and ship shape. Our only complaint was that there was no master bedroom closet available for our use.

Nice place, great location on the beach
Nice place, great location on the beach
First off, a very nice place overall. Owner was responsive to my questions upon booking, and upon arrival the management of the keys etc. was just as expected. Had a good time and enjoyed the amenities of the hot tub (pool was closed for construction that was ongoing and looks to be completed soon). Pool deck itself was very nice too. Did not use the grills but they are there by the pool area. Some minor items worth noting: Twin beds in bedroom 2 were VERY firm. King bed in master was comfy though. Location on the SW side of the building was very good for wintertime sun exposure on the balcony but you should be aware that immediataly next to the condo to the south is a bird sanctuary which had a bit of bird noise and some smell too when the wind was right. It was fun to watch the pelicans and other birds flying around. View from main balcony was to gulf beach and also you could see the birds behind their cages. The smaller balcony off the kitchen was overlooking only the bird sanctuary and parking lot so was not great. The fireplace needed a wood grate and some fireplace tools--poker, brush, etc. and it did not seem to vent well when we used it...making the room a bit smoky albeit the wood we had did not seem to burn well either so maybe a hotter fire would have caused more draft. Silverware was limited and we could have used a few more teaspoons but there were plenty of plates although of a mismatched pattern. A nice teflon fry pan would have been nice as would have a scrubber for the steel fry pan that stuck eggs to it...without the tools to clean it the job was not easy and the pan upon arrival was looking like a previous person also had trouble getting it clean too. Overall decor is good but some of the unit is appearing dated such as cabinets and counter tops. Carpets were also in need of some shampoo but I am picky...they really were not that back just had a few spots that I would have hit if I owned the place myself. Overall, I would recommend this property based on location, reasonable cleanliness and livability, and amenities of the unit as well as the condo building itself.
