We are so excited to share our mountain retreat with you. While searching for a vacation home in 2008 we discovered this site and were readily drawn to it. We chose this particular location because it provided seclusion but not isolation. Our home was built in 2005 and sits on a quiet 1.3 acre site nestled in the mountains. We love the small deck on the front and the larger deck on the north side. Gas grill provided.
The fireplace is very relaxing and a place to enjoy a cool night in the mountains. The loft bedroom has a queen size bed, full bath and large walk-in closet. Our downstairs area consist of a large bedroom (queen size bed), huge full bath, washer/dryer in a completely enclosed closet to itself, dining area, fully furnished kitchen, and comfortable living room providing Direct TV, DVD Player, wireless internet connection.
We enjoy the clear, clean lakes, rivers, and waterfalls. Boatrides and tubing keep our younger generation entertained easily.
The Ocoee River is awesome to enjoy when the water flow is redirected to supply electricity to the surrounding area. Huge bolders are exposed and the family can enjoy climbing, swimming, or just taking in the unique sight. Return when the water is released and participate, or just watch rafters and kayakers trying to stay upright in the raging waters.
The Murphy Flea Market offers a close up encounter with the locals as they sell their wares. Mainstreet Cafe in downtown Murphy dishes up real southern cooking and hospitality in a casual setting at an extremely low price. You will love it !

About the owner: My wife and I have just retired. We will be using the Chalet about half of the year. Our hope is that others will come and enjoy as we do this special place in the mountains.
Why the Owner Chose Murphy:
We both grew up being third and fourth generation Floridians. We call ourselves reverse Northerners: We chose to go North to Murphy in the Summer. We will be moving in for a while on July 3,2012. We will be furnishing and decorating for ourselves and visitors like you. We are looking forward to your visit for a weekend or a week.

While looking at houses to buy with the realtor back in '08 we had looked at our picks screened from on line searches when the realtor suggested one more. ' This is it,' we each agreed, but no one saying anything. Then when we opened the door and say the beautiful interior with fireplace and chimney and center placed- stairs going up to a spacious loft, we all agreed out loud. We hope you enjoy as much as we do this chalet nestled in the mountain.
