The location was very good near the subway, the north train station, good restaurants and grocery stores. A telephone in the apartment was a real plus. The apartment is very small without good sitting space as mentioned. The TV did not work for channels but there was an extensive video library to keep one amused. I assume this will be fixed. We had a great stay for 5 days but I would find a long stay difficult because of the small size.

Sorry to be so late on this review but I felt a need to post it because I depend so much on these reviews. We had a very hard time finding a place in Paris and took this apartment knowing that it was quite small. The reviews about it being funky and retro are correct and it is decorated very nicely and modern. The only issues we had were that there is no sitting area except for the bed and the bed did not work properly. It was supposed to fold up from the back which was fine but almost impossible to get back flat. We really had a struggle with it. The floors are alot of different levels and we had some problems navigating around. We are in our 60's, very healthy and very active but would not recommend this for our age group. No sitting area at all and very little space around the bed with different levels of flooring was not pleasant. For a younger couple it works great for a romantic getaway.

Upon arriving at the hotel, the innkeeper greeted us and showed us up to and around the apartment. She was very friendly. She did not speak English so just know this if you are an English speaker, you are requested to call her 1 hour before your arrival to let her know to meet you. Have planned out what you can say in French to get the message across! The neighborhood was fine, although at some points on the walk from Gare du Nord, seemed dicey, was good and very close to Sacre-Coeur, the highest point in Paris and in the Montemarte neighborhood, which is a nice one. The owner of the apartment were responsive and easy to communicate with to organize things. The apartment was clean, small and very functional. The bathtub was of course amazing, but leave plenty of time if you wish to fill it all the way up! There is no shower, but there is a shower head in the tub to fill-in for that. The bed was very comfortable and the owners and previous guests left plenty of interesting and fun books to browse in your downtime as well as a good selection of movies to watch. The apartment is right across the street from a day care which was charming and sweet. It was not noisy except when the children arrive in the morning and leave in the evening. The linens were very nice. All basics were provided for including iron, ironing board, wine bottle opener, dishes, towels, refrigerator, umbrellas for rainy days etc. Some extras included the glass screen between the bed and the tub which turned opaque for privacy, a bult-in espresso/coffee machine and a tiny stove-top and microwave. The apartment was very quiet on the interior, but you did here considerable traffic and street noise from outside if you left the windows open for some fresh air. What I liked best here was the functionality and comfort of the apartment. It was a little home away from home.

wonderful location in a quiet street but only minutes from cafes and interesting shops. for us this was our attempt at the paris experience and the apartment enhanced the romance of being in this wonderful city. the stairs (three flights) are not for the faint hearted but once you're inside you have your own little world with all the ammenities required to live like a local. loved it and would go back in a minute

We had a wonderful honeymoon at this perfectly located apartment! A grocery store and bakery were under a minute away, the metro was 3 minutes away and Sacre Coeur was only a 15 minute stroll through beautiful shop-lined streets. The apartment itself had a great selection of DVDs (had many sleepless nights from jet lag - dispite a comfortable bed!) and had everything we needed. The oversized bath tub was great and we soaked sore muscles there after touring around the city. It was really easy to use the metro to get to the main sights like the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame, the Louvre and Arc De Triomphe. A great place I'd definately stay again!!

If you would like to live in Paris like a local, then this is the place. This apartment was great to rent for a one week stay in Paris. It was in a good location, close to the anvers Metro stop and bus stops. The supermarket is nearby as well as some great little places to eat. The tub is out in the open and takes up a lot of space, but after a long day walking around Paris, it is welcome.

This one bedroom apartment is perfect for a romantic trip, fully-equiped with kitchen, TV and even a set of DVDs, CDs and city maps. And of course bath-tub is amazing!! The location is perfect - just a walling distance from the heart of Montmartre - Sacre-Coeur. Metro station also very close. I will for sure stay there again when I'm in Paris next time. I fully recommend this place!

My husband and I stayed in Peter's lovely apartment in May of this year. One of my favorite things was the bathtub. We must have spent hours relaxing after a long day of walking and sight-seeing. I also enjoyed the neighborhood. There is a fresh fruit/vegetable shop up the street that has freshly squeezed OJ that we frequented just about everyday. I found the neighborhood and general location to be extremely friendly. The apartment is perfect for two people who would like to have a nice getaway. The kitchen is also a big plus. We ended up cooking in several times during our stay. With a grocery just down the road it made for a perfect stay.

I must confess: I am a fan, my family is a fan club. I have dedicated already a lot of my spare time to the apartments in Paris available for renting from this same owner. We had stays in every apartment and have enjoyed the different accents/flavors each of them is offering. I suggest you to listen to Vivaldi’s big four: summer is for Luxury. Put away the wine and let the Champaign pop out of the bottle! You just have to open the window to take part of the Parisian life that you see down on the street. Going out in the morning to have a French breakfast, having a swim in the huge bath and then go out to experience Paris by night. Avoid going to sleep, brew your fresh cup of coffee in the professional machine.

We had stays in every apartment and have enjoyed the different accents/flavors each of them is offering. I suggest you to listen to Vivaldi’s four seasons. Have a glass of dark red wine together with a nice book and enjoy this apartment that gives you a feeling of space and quietness. We have caught ourselves not having left the place for days! Anyhow, when we need to de-stress, this is the place to be: as a family together with our 2 teenagers, renting bikes and crossing Paris while enjoying complete relaxation. In short: quality-time where I think of all the good things that are happening to my family…

                  Owner info

                  Year Purchased: 1999

About the owner: We bought this apartment to enjoy Paris ourselves, so we completely refurbished it to our own standards and for our own use in the first place. That explains the very high standards of the materials and amenities.

Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 9:
We were looking for an area where the real Parians live, with affordable restaurants and shops - but still at walking distance from the main attractions. The area had to safe as well.Later we found out it was a school area.many families with children live there.Whjen we go with our children we combine with one of our other units in the same building.
