Perfectly located on Shoal Creek at the mouth of Wilson Lake, you will find no other like this. With 250' of waist deep water along the seawall that gradually deepens for swimming and fishing, and a large leveled ground, people of all ages can enjoy themselves wading in the lake while enjoying the company of others on the bank.
We are confident that you will enjoy your time at our totally renovated and updated Shoal Creek Gibbons Home. We are located minutes from town, however you will feel as though you are in your own little world.
If you do decide to venture out on the town for a bit or to tour the beautiful places that Florence and the Shoals area has to offer, you will be pleasantly surprised to find everything and every place within minutes of the house.
We have tried our best to make our home as comfortable and homey for others as we prefer for ourselves. Most any amenity that you may need or want is available.
Having two kitchens, plenty of seating, and an open gathering area, our home is not only great for family outings, fishermen getaways, and vacations but also perfect for wedding receptions, family reunions, baby showers, business meetings, wedding ceremonies, youth group outings, bridal showers, etc. We will also consider monthly corporate/business stays.

The home is a perfect location for our golf vacation in Florence. We played the RTJ Shoals courses in Muscle Shoals as well as Turtle Point course down the street from the home. The property is well-maintained and very clean. Each of the four of us had our own bedroom during our stay. The decks are fantastic for enjoying beverages after our golf round. Bobby and Angela cannot be more helpful with questions and requests. We highly recommend this home!Owner response: We could not have been happier to have the four of you 'all the way' from Chicago and are so glad to hear that you were able to spend time on two of the many courses in the area. It is also great to know that you all were comfortable in having your own bedroom. Dave, you and your golfing buddies will forever be welcomed back!

Location worked very well for our golfing. Near Hwy 72 which is a main road going into Florence and the golf courses. The house was Very clean and taken care of with many amenities supplied for your comfort. Offered privacy for the 4 of us staying there. We utilized the kitchen and grill which was relaxing for us after playing golf. Florence downtown is small but great shopping and Italian restaurant was good, Grocery near. We would return for sure.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our stay at the lake house was awesome. Everything in the house was exactly like the pictures on the website. The open living room/kitchen area was plenty of space for entertaining. The place was more then what we were exspecting. The location was great, resturants were close by. Everyone talked about returning next summer with their families. The owners went above and beyond to make the stay there great. Will be using this place if we ever come back to Pickwick or Wilson Lakes.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This past weekend was one of the most relaxing weekends I have had in a long while. As a mother of three going on a vacation can be alot of work so we decided to do a "staycation" on the lake here in Florence. It was the best idea we have had! We enjoyed every minute! The Gibbons home is perfect. My oldest daughter came in from college and brought a friend, my parents stayed, and my brother and his family where able to come out and enjoy the fun. the house never felt cramped, it is layed out perfect for large families. We were able to cook ,fellowship, and watch the ballgames. This house has has everything you need! We all hated to leave and would love to do this again soon. Thank you for opening up your home to my family! Will reccomend to all my family and friends!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My wife along with my aunt and uncle stayed for a few days and just adored the place. Very well furnished, absolutely nothing lacking. The house has an open peace fullness about it that just makes one relax. We did some fishing off the back and caught a few catfish,crappie and small mouth bass, Mostly we just visited and relaxed and recharged our batteries.They made some ramps to help with the wheel chairs for some of the stepups. I thought that was very thoughtful of them considering it was'nt requested on our part. I would recommend this place to anyone with kids, young or old they will love the place. The other thing we loved about the place is the covenience of nearby restaurants and stores. We plan on visiting again ourselves.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This house was one of the cleanest rentals I have ever seen! The owners were wonderful and accommodating. They even returned a shirt we had forgotten! You wont get that in a hotel! While there were only 5 of us, you could have fit many more. The layout of the house would be excellent for two family rentals or group functions. The main kitchen is surrounded by windows. It would make a fantastic entertaining area. The pictures are nice, but I do not believe they do it justice. Florence is a unique city. You feel like you are on the lake away from everything at the house, but drive 5 minutes up the road...and you will find any restaurant or shopping you might need! With this house being steps from the water, we will remember to take our cane fishing poles on the next visit!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful time at the lake! We actually live in the area and were looking for a place to rent and not have to leave town. We were able to take our boat and have a blast using this lake house. You cannot beat the location! The house was in wonderful shape and had everything we needed. The owners were very welcoming and you could not ask for more helpful people. They made sure everything was to our liking. We had two couples each with a two year old child and the kids had a blast also. We hope to be able to rent this home again soon!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was an amazing vacation home! The owners have thought of everything! Beautifully decorated with charm and equipped with lots of extras. No need to take extra dishes, stainless, cooking utensils, blankets, pillows....cleanest rental I have ever encountered. We had a wonderful celebration. Guests from Texas were very impressed with our accommodations. We rented the Wilson Lake as part of our annual motorcycle getaway. We had 6 people and were very comfortable with plenty of room for everyone. The house exceeded our expectations in so many ways. It offered great views of the lake from the main living room area. The pictures dont do it justice! All of the amenities in the house are very high quality, from the towels & sheets to the furniture. It really did feel like home. We used the house as home base as we toured around the area on our motorcycles. It was nice to come 'home' to the same place each night. The property owners were very accommodating and easy to work with. We highly recommend this property to anyone staying in the Shoals area.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: We are just a couple of the many family members that have enjoyed this special home on Shoal Creek. Keeping with the open house feel that we have all always known and loved, we made the decision to let others enjoy it too!
Why the Owner Chose Florence:
The land was first purchased by the family in 1964 and has been 'home' to many. Countless wonderful memories have been made with family and friends through the years.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The most unique benefit of our home is most definitely its close proximity to the water. Another specialty would be the near distance to all restaurants, shopping centers, and many attractions that Florence and The Shoals has to offer! Also, we must not forget the fish! The enormous blue catfish shown was caught off of the back patio of the house on November 10, 2012. The area is also known for it's abundance of bass!
