New England farmhouse colonial duplex in Bethel, Maine, with seasonal views of the Mahoosuc Range and the Androscoggin River.
Situated just outside of town in the Androscoggin intervale, this accommodation offers convenience to Bethel, "Maine's most beautiful mountain village," and a short drive to the Sunday River and Mount Abram ski areas, Grafton Notch State Park, and the White Mountain National Forest.
This 6-room duplex includes one second-floor bedroom and one first-floor bedroom:
o Toward the rear of the 2nd floor is a large bedroom. It is carpeted, has a queen-size Charles P. Rogers iron bed, and an adjoining half-bath.
o The first-floor bedroom has a single bed.
Beds have new Simmons World Class pillow-top mattresses.
More sleeping capacity is provided by a full-size futon in the first-floor living room.
The living room, a dining room, and the first-floor bedroom are pine paneled. There is an eat-in kitchen with a large adjoining mud room. A full bath is off the mud room.
All rooms, except the carpeted rear bedroom, have newly refinished pine or spruce floors.
The use of half of a 4-car garage is included, as well as all of a full basement that includes a washer & dryer. And there is shared use of a 3-season porch across the front of the house. Entrance to the other duplex unit is gained through this porch. The other unit will not be marketed for occupancy until the completion of some minor construction that will be commencing in May [a room is being converted to a bathroom].
Septic system fully updated 2006. Excellent well water. Recent conversion to circuit breakers. New oil-fired boiler. New stockade fence for added privacy.
