This 5-bedroom / 4.5 bath log home sets new standard for excellence in mountain vacation properties. There are 3 covered decks and 3 levels, each with at least one bedroom and full bath, 8 Cable TV's, air hockey, table tennis, computer with internet, and a 6-person hot tub!
The main level features a huge, lodge-style living room with massive 25-foot stone wood-burning fireplace and a 50' TV, a half bathroom, a fully-equipped kitchen and dining area with seating for 14, and a master suite.
The enormous living room with cathedral ceiling is a great place for group gatherings. Enjoy an evening by the huge wood-burning fireplace, relax on the private deck, catch a good movie on the 50-inch HDTV with VCR and DVD player and theater surround sound, or just relax and listen to your favorite music on the stereo with CD player in one of the comfortable sitting areas.
The large fully-equipped 'gourmet' kitchen is stocked with everything to handle the simplest meal to your complete Thanksgiving tradition. The dining area hosts an expandable table with 6 chairs, cable TV, a gas-log fireplace, and a breakfast table with 4 chairs. The kitchen bar area also seats 4. The main floor master suite has a king-sized bed, cable TV, and a large full bathroom.
Step out of the main floor onto one of the 4 front or the rear decks to soak up the cool mountain air, sounds of the forest, and views of the mountains during the winter months. Enjoy the plethora of rocking chairs, a hammock swing, and for those cool evenings turn on the outdoor propane heater.
For those who enjoy outdoor cooking, a wonderful stainless steel gas grill awaits. There is also a table with 4 chairs for dining al fresco!
On the top floor there is a large suite with a queen-sized bed, cable TV and full bathroom. The loft area boasts a computer complete with high-speed internet access and a printer (adults only or adult supervision please!). Another bedroom / game room at this level comes complete with a queen-sized sleeper sofa bed, cable TV with VCR and DVD player, a portacrib, toddler bed, and a library of books, puzzles, games, and movies.
The lower level contains a large master suite with king bed, large sitting area with cable TV, and a private bathroom with shower, a bedroom with a queen-sized bed and cable TV, another full bathroom, laundry room, and recreation room. Walk around the corner and find yourself in the midst of games galore. Enjoy playing a game of air hockey, darts, or use the table and chairs for working on your latest puzzle. For your convenience, there is also a bar sink and small refrigerator and a gas log stove heater to enjoy.
From here step out onto another covered deck and enjoy the large Hot Springs hot tub and table with 4 chairs. Just hang up your towels and soak your aches away after a long day of hiking, skiing, or shopping.
Perfectly located on a private lot between Boone and Blowing Rock, convenient to all High County attractions, Deer View Lodge has everything needed to compliment a most rewarding vacation in the mountains of North Carolina.

Wonderful house!! Terrific layout with many different areas for adults and kids to spread out! The main den is beautiful with a great wood burning fireplace and lovely windows. Great views. Beautiful home, perfect for family getaway! My family and I have stayed at this home for the past few years for a mini-vacation and we love it! There is plenty of room and it has a very cozy feel to it. The house is always clean when we arrive and we have never had any complaints during our stay! Loved this home! We had a large group and everyone was spread out enough to not crowd each other. The kids loved the woods to explore and we were close to Tweetsie and Blowing Rock. We stayed in this gorgeous cabin last year and got snowed in. It was awesome. My grandchildren had so much fun and they still talk about it. There is plenty to do with the hot tub and game room. We saw alot of deer and my granddaughters enjoyed making a snow man and sliding down the mountain with snow boards. In fact I'm looking into renting it again this December and pray that it snows again. This was a vacation that I will always remember because I finally got my "White Christmas". The owner was very kind and called to check on us when he heard about the weather. Just a dream home. Thank you for sharing it with my family.Did you find this review helpful? Our family found out a month ago that our 5 year old Grandson had Cystic Fibrosis. To be honest, we just needed some time to relax, reflect and regroup. We stay in the Boone/Blowing Rock area frequently, but this time we needed a larger home to accomodate our children and grandchild. Your home was perfect! The kitchen was stocked better than my own, which made for easy meal preparation. The game room in the basement...Ah...it was marvelous. After dinner, we all would play darts, shuffleboard or air hockey. Our grandson fell in love with the air hockey! We had competitions between the adults on the darts and whatched the Nascar race at the same time. When we were wore out, we would resort to the beautiful LARGE family room for time to share family memories. We almost completed the 1000 piece puzzle for you! We ate dinner several times on one of the 2 decks and the real treat was hearing Tweetsie in the distance. Thank you, thank you for sharing this beautiful home with us. It was just what we all needed. Now we are rested and ready to meet our Grandson's disease head on! We look forward to visiting again soon.Did you find this review helpful? We have stayed at this cabin twice and just LOVE it!! We have a large group and this cabin is perfect for us. We had been looking for years for the perfect "family" cabin after trying at least 10 different ones and this one is it!! Everything is perfect, you will not lack for anything when you stay here. The only problem we have found with it is it books up quickly so we are so happy when we can get it!LOL. Thank you so very much for sharing your beautiful cabin with us! Our families came from Birmingham, Orlando and Montgomery to celebrate Christmas together. Your home was so warm and welcoming and is so fully equipped. Your truly thought of everything! The views are so beautiful and we even had a little snow. First snow for our kids. P.S. What a great vacation! Bravo to the owners and rental agency (Blue Ridge) You DID think of everything! The hot tub is the perfect size, and the high speed internet allowed us to trade stocks and stay in touch with our family and friends at home. When we return home - we're getting a ping pong table, darts and a hot tub so we can relive the memories! Thanks! P.S. Feed the birds in the feeders provided and enjoy watching the birds snack - binoculars in the pantry. The birds will thank you! P.S.S We didn't have any snow so we snuck onto Appalachian Ski Mtn Slopes and took pictures while the snow was blowing - great family photo op!Did you find this review helpful? We have been in this area for years and stayed at different cabins. Your cabin is very kid friendly and also has everything for the adults. You did think of everything! The location is great and although we have had no snow the skiing has been good! Thanks for sharing your home with us! It is very comfortable! We will send referrals.
