Farallon's open floor plan is perfect for a couples' getaway or a trip to the 'High Country' with friends and family. The large, yet cozy great room includes the kitchen, dining area and den which share the wood burning fireplace (split wood provided), the partially covered porch (with hot tub under the stars), and views of the mountains, woods, rhododendron, and rock outcroppings.
Fallon's kitchen contains granite countertops, a Jenn-Air range, and everything else needed for the gourmet on your trip. Both bedrooms contain a queen bed with quality pillow-top mattresses and well appointed linens. Each bedroom includes a full bath with double vanities and tub/shower combinations.
Many of Farallon's guest have returned for subsequent stays and referrals from guests to their friends and family are commonplace. We are confident that Farallon will exceed your expectations.
For larger groups, consider renting this cabin with nearby Black Bear Lodge.
Depending on the home, Blue Ridge Vacation Cabins recommends 4WD, chains or sometimes both when visiting the mountains in winter. We are happy to help you find the home with the winter access you are most comfortable with.

First off let me say this cabin is awesome, the decor, the hot tub, the porch, everything. This is the first time my husband and I have been away on vacation without our three daughters. My father, my Grandparents and I had a wonderful time in the cabin. The interior decoration is perfect, and the surrounding area is quite fun to explore. Arriving late at night, our Valle Crucis adventure actually began with a couple of wrong turns at the base of the mountain. An hour or so later, when we stepped inside Farallon all mumbled curse words, and sharp turns were soon forgotten, trumped by the peace and serenity this beautiful home offers. Why the Owner Chose Valle Crucis:
Anna and I began to celebrate our wedding anniversaries in the Valle Crucis/Boone area over 10 years ago and dreamed of one day building our own special cabin in the area, which transpired in 2005. Valle Crucis is a quaint historic district and is centrally located between Boone, Banner Elk, and Blowing Rock which provides easy access to all the 'High Country' has to offer. Farallon is situated on 2 acres at an altitude of 4000', and is very private.

Our careers keep us hustling most of the time, so it's great to find peace, beauty, and comfort at this retreat. We enjoy hiking, cycling ,skiing, and/or having drinks on the porch or by the fire, so the mountains are a great fit for us.
