Welcome to Rhys' Valley View!
This beautiful new log cabin is the best house we have to offer. Everything about it has been carefully thought out for the ultimate vacationer's pleasure.
This beautiful home has every extra from the hand-hewn logs, hand made rhododendron porch railings, tongue and groove paneled wall and ceiling in every room, stone-stacked wood-burning fireplace, wormy maple hardwood floors.
This impressive 2300 sq. ft. log cabin is absolutely beautiful both inside and out. The exterior with hand hewn log and chink with exposed beams on the 15 ft. deep covered cathedral porch makes for a wonderful experience. The porch has rockers and a lovely dining area, but best of all has one of the best views in the mountains. Stand on the porch and look out over miles and miles of uninhabited mountains, river views, and horse valleys. The sun sets just over the long-range mountain view and the full moon tracks the night sky across this southern facing cabin. The wild turkey and deer are abounding on this 12 acre privately owned estate.
The interior has also been thoroughly and thoughtfully designed with the comfort and pleasure of the vacationer in mind. There is plenty of room with 4 bedrooms, each with a wonderful view, and decorated in mountain decor with hand made quilts, goose down comforters, and interior pine walls. With a total of 4 full baths, two bedrooms have private baths all with imported tile, cherry cabinets, and the master bath has a whirlpool tub.
There are 2 queen beds, one king, and 4 single beds for sleeping. There is also a queen sleeper sofa and roll away beds for extra guests.
The playroom has a pool table and ping-pong along with satellite TV, Game Cube, and Vermont Casting fire stove for your entertainment. It too has a great view from its 2 sets of double windows.
The upstairs living room is wonderful with cathedral ceiling and hand-hewn beams, stone stacked wood-burning fireplace, wormy maple hardwood floors and best of all, the view from the two French doors and 10 ft. tall windows. This large and inviting room is the perfect gathering place for the whole family. Cuddle by the fire or sit at the large dining room table and talk to the chef in the gourmet kitchen with cherry cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and unique Penta Gold granite counter tops. The all wood tongue and groove room with 20 ft. ceilings is incredibly beautiful and totally comfortable in all its luxury.
Don't forget the hot tub sitting in total privacy overlooking the view and night sky. This is the perfect place for solitude and peace. This house has it all and mere words will not do it justice. This newly completed home has even had the interior professionally decorated.
Please remember, 4WD or chains are always recommended when visiting the mountains in winter.

Why the Owner Chose Boone
We love Boone and the surrounding area. We had looked for property in this particular area- near the Watuaga River and this particular scenery for several years. The very day the property was listed for sale, we saw it and put in an offer. It was accepted but then we found out that the seller was not the owner. We were so crushed! But we tracked down the rightful owner and they accepted our offer. We had this land- 23 acres- for 5 years before we could build this dream house. We had so much fun picking out all the particulars as we really wanted it to have some very special features like catherdral ceilings on the deck and inside. The porches had to be extra wide so we did not feel cramped. And we had to do a lot of plowing to get flat land. It is close to town and the view is exclusive and absolutely stunning. Come and enjoy our home.
The Unique Benefits at this Log Cabin
One of the best views to be found, you can walk to the Watauga River for tubing or fishing- tubes and poles in the house- the hot tub is nice, but I never leave the porch. The view, rain or shine is fabulous. I love the way it was decorated and thank my husband who encouraged me to spend what I thought the house deserved for its decor. Peace, Quiet, Beauty, and Spirituality abounds.
Owner's Map of Boone
We are a small family that wanted a vacation home with an incredible view. My husband is British and I am from Greensboro and we have 2 sons. We love to garden, hike, play in the river and enjoy a beautiful house with peace, quite, and BIG View.

Thank you so much for putting us in Rhys River View house. Please excuse my poor manners for not contacting you immediately to let you know how thrilled we were with the house. We were just too busy...relaxing, soaking in the hot tub, watching the sun burn off the "smoke" from the mountains, star gazing (we could see the milky way), and spotting deer and wild turkey. We also made full use of so many of the local attractions. We went to Grandfather trout pond (wow!!!), the orchard at alta pass (I think that I am a little old to pick apples on a mountain side, tough work but I can say I did it.) , the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Mast General Store, and emerald mining (Rio Doce) in Little Switzerland. Please let your renters know about Rio Doce. Jerry Call is a world class gemologist and will cut one free stone per bucket. Over the years he has cut many stones for me. This time he is cutting two garnets and a lemon citrine. In the past I have gotten smokey quartz and amethyst. I wish that we could have eaten at some of the restaurants that you recommended. Our night vision is too poor to drive on your mountain roads at night! Thank goodness the house had such a gourmet kitchen! Thanks again!

We had a fantastic Christmas and for the kids, Santa found the cabin OK and it was great. We'll get back to you and if not in March again I can assure you. I hope we left the place OK for you. You went out of your way to make our stay a pleasant one. The christmas tree and stockings were a great surprise when we arrived. Take care and Happy New Year.

The pictures of this house do not do it justice!! It is just stunning. We loved every minute of it, even when it rained because we could sit on the porch- or even in the living room- and see the clouds trail up from the valley just like smoke- guess thats why it it called the Smokey Mountains. Lovely house, recommend highly.
