Recently Remodeled! Gulf Shores Plantation is a gated (24 hour security), family friendly resort that is located directly on the Gulf of Mexico with thousands of feet of beach frontage. This resort is beautifully landscaped and offers many amenities. Come enjoy all of the 6 outdoor pools and 1 indoor pool, indoor and outdoor hot tub and steam and sauna rooms. There are also tennis, basketball and shuffleboard courts, horseshoe pits, exercise room, putting green, outdoor charcoal grills and picnic tables. On site there is also a casual eatery that offers Starbucks coffee, food, spirits and for added enjoyment, walk next door the the nationally ranked Kiva Dunes golf course for a round of golf.

Our 2 bedroom/2 bathroom, non-smoking condo is newly updated and decorated. The unit has a beautiful gulf view that can be enjoyed on the balcony where you can also hear the sounds of the waves.
The kitchen is equipped with all new major appliances, refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and blender. The stove has a ceramic glass cook top. There are also 3 bar stools that pull up to the kitchen island. The dining table accommodates 6 people.
Enjoy the new 40' flat screen TV in the living room along with a Blu-ray player.
The master bedroom offers a queen size Tempur-Pedic bed with a new comforter. The guest bedroom has 2 twin size beds with new comforters. Both bathrooms have tub/shower combinations. The master bedroom has its own private bath and 19' flat screen TV with Blu-ray player. There is a Lazy-Boy sleeper sofa in the living room if you need additional room for guests. The living room also has a very comfortable Lazy-Boy recliner.
There is free WiFi located throughout the resort. A fun game room is also located on site. A laundry facility is located in the building. Our building has an elevator and there are butlers carts available to help bring your luggage to and from your car.
For all you men who are tired of taking the trash OUT, rest easy. There is a trash chute a few feet from the elevator lobby. Walk to the end of the hall, open the chute door, throw the trash in and walk back to the unit down the air conditioned hall.

What a wonderful view of the Ocean from our living room and kitchen!!!! The owner Marty was attentive to us from our booking to our departure and was always available via phone. We were in the unit for a month and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The condo was cozy and had everything we needed. It was nice having all the jacuzzi's on property including the 2 indoor jacuzzi's in our building. Also having the workout facilities on the first floor of our building was convenient and the indoor pool on grounds for rainy days. The only reason we are giving a 4 star was because of old carpeting in the unit and living room curtains that were difficult to move to close. The owner said he was replacing those after our stay, so that is good news for the next people. The bathrooms were small but clean and functional. The grounds of the Plantation Resort have nice Tennis facilities and all the pools look well attended to. The building that this condo is located in was always being cleaned and was nicely kept and has been freshly painted inside and out. I appreciated the fact that when we got to our condo on the fifth floor that the hallway carpeting was kept clean and the hallways had a fresh clean smel. Having access to our outdoor patio from the living room and the bedroom was convenient for the nice breeze and ocean sound during the day. It was also convenient having the small cafe downstairs in our building. Just in case you needed ice, SPF or something quick to eat. There is also a cute grocery store less than mile from the Resort for last minute major grocery needs, otherwise it is a 15 minute drive to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach to shop. The Kiva Dunes Golf Course is very nice and they have great food at the clubhouse with a nice and casual dining environment where you can sit inside or out on the patio. The beach is wonderful and the sand is like sugar. It was a pleasure to walk everyday.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+.

What a weekend! The view from the balcony is amazing! You can also sit in the Living Room and enjoy the view. The owners are very responsive and caring to ensure everything in your stay goes well. They also have a nicely decorated rental that exceeded expecations on both design and comfort. I would definately go back!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We booked the appointment, and Marty and Gail were awesome to me and my family! They prepared us for the trip! A few days before our trip, Hurricane Issac appeared. We were so afrais that we wasn't going to the beach, but Marty called and checked everything out, he kept us updated on the weather, and the situation at the beach.. We arrived and it didn't even look like a hurricane had passed the Gulf.. it was BEAUTIFUL!!!!! The rooms were all bright and colorful, New appliances, New furniture, and the View was AWESOME!!!! you could literally see the ocean from every window... every room... There was several pools but we enjoyed the 1 1/2 ft pool. Our nephew played and was excited there for over an hour... The walk out to the beach in the evening was wonderful.. the breeze was very cool and the view again was breath taking.. Marty and Gail have a beautiful condo and you wont be sorry to stay with them, we are already checking our calendar for the next trip!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

Returned yesterday from a wonderful beach vacation! This condo was great. The owner was very helpful and friendly. Loved the decor. Master bed was extremely comfortable. Good view of the Gulf. The whole facility was clean. We enjoyed the tennis, basketball and horseshoes also. Loved being away from the Orange Beach/Gulf Shores crowds. Only downfall was having to wait & wash clothes in the laundry room on the 1st floor. As far as places to eat: Tacky Jack's in Fort Morgan was a disappointment. Have been to the one in Orange Beach and it is much better. Love Lulu's in Gulf Shores and Bahama Bob's! Always fun and great food. Overall, a great vacation!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, people with disabilities.

A great 2br unit with new appliances, The AC worked great. Carry ice the first day, the cleaning crew dumps ice maker and turns it off. Great beds, nice views, bath rooms small but serviceable. Overall this is a nice unit worth your consideration. Mr Marty is very interactive and will keep in touch with you through the whole process.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, families with teenagers.

This rental was exactly what we were looking for, and exactly what we expected from the description and photos. Love the bright colors in the furniture and draperies. The beach and many pools were a big hit with the 10 year old, and the whole family. This is a great location off the beaten path, yet still close enough to Gulf Shores when we felt like venturing into the bustle. I came with the family, but look forward to coming back for a girls trip, and trying some of the closer restaurants and touring the fort.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, sightseeing.

About the owner: I was born in Massachusetts and raised in New Hampshire. I graduated from high school when I was 18. After I graduated from high school, being a standard issue boy, I just hung around the homestead, enjoyed my mothers cooking and worked an easy 40 hr. a week job. Life was ideal until one day the blissful foundation of my life was shattered. No, not shattered, vaporized. My father returned from work one evening and asked me what I planned to do. I wasn’t sure what he meant so he made it very clear. He said, “Whatever your plans are they can’t be carried out in this house.” I was firmly being asked to leave paradise. At that moment I believe I underwent all of the symptoms of shock. If that wasn’t enough three days later I received a letter from a tall, thin, white bearded man in a patriotic top hat and tuxedo stating that he wanted me. Well that was it. I was out of there for sure. I joined the Navy and ended up in the Sea-Bees. Great outfit by the way. I spent four years in the military and while serving I met my wife of forty-five years. After being discharged from the service I went to college for a while but I soon discovered that college life wasn’t for me. I was hired by AT&T and worked for them for thirty-one and three quarter years. I am retired now and have rediscovered my blissful foundation. My wife and I have two wonderful daughters who both have great husbands. Two daughters, two husbands equal three grandchildren two boys and one girl. We all live close to Birmingham, Alabama. People ask me why I didn't return to the North Country. My answer, 'I don't live where water stops moving during the winter months.'
Why the Owner Chose Gulf Shores Plantation:
My wife and I purchased this condo for several reasons. One reason is I like the beach, especially the Gulf with its warm water and white sand. There are no rocks or oyster shells to step on and no seaweed to get stuck between your toes. My wife never did like the beach because when she was a little girl her parents took her to the Gulf and rented a motel room X number of miles from the beach. They had to drive to the beach, find a place to park which was usually across the road from the beach. Next they had to dodge the traffic to get to their spot on the sand which was surrounded by bunch of folks. When fun in the sun, surf and sand was over they headed back to the car. Arriving at the car they were wet and covered with sand and salt. Then came the uncomfortable ride back to the motel while shedding sand and salt crystals in the car.
Gulf Shores Plantation is a very well maintained facility inside and out. Upon driving up to the building you pull under a portico to unload your vehicle out from under the sun or heaven forbid any rain that may fall. There are a number of wheeled conveyances for easy transport of your belongings to the room. Two elevators are available and the number of times we have been there I have never had to wait more than thirty seconds for the doors to open.
There isn’t a road to cross to get to the beach only a short stroll across the boardwalk, to keep everyone off of the dunes, and you are on the beach. The beach is private so it is not overcrowded. When the day of fun in the sun, sand and surf is over you again cross the boardwalk to find a shower at the end of it to wash off all of the sand and salt before you return to the unit. The facility is family oriented so you won’t find wild beer parties going on up and down the beach. What more can you ask for? Well let's look at the unique benefits.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Gulf Shores Plantation is twelve miles west of Gulf Shores. That means no bumper to bumper traffic to fight but it is within a few minutes of water parks, restaurants, museums, gift shops and other entertainment in Gulf Shores. Sitting on the 5 by 17 foot balcony on the sixth floor you have an unimpeded view of the beach and you are close enough to hear the waves breaking on the shore. The unit is on the east side of the building so the balcony is bathed in the cool morning sun and shaded in the afternoon while being made more comfortable by the refreshing sea breeze which is almost always present.
There are 6 outdoor pools and one indoor Pool. One of the pools is a large kiddy pool that is one foot deep at the shallow end and about five feet at the deep end. I believe the shallow end takes up more area than the deep end. The indoor pool is heated. Two hot tubs are located on site.
Tennis lovers will find seven lighted courts and one unlit. Seven horse shoe pits, one basketball court, two shuffleboard courts, a Jerry Pate Signature Golf Course and a putting green to satisfy most all sports lovers.
Para sailing is available as well as jet skis to rent. An exercise room is on site to keep you in shape along with a game room to, I guess, keep your reflexes in shape. Charcoal grills and picnic tables are located around the building.
Satellite TV with HBO and Disney is in each unit. Wi-Fi is throughout the building.
If you have to work while on vacation The Plantation offers FAX services and an ATM.
The Connections located at the south end of the building is a wireless hot spot and has an in-obscured view of the beach. Starbucks coffee, pizza, sandwiches, ice cream, iced daiquiris, wine, beer, mixed drinks along with other foods are served there. A gift shop is also located in Connections. Limited grocery items along with ice can also be found in Connections.
Family oriented, a 24 hr. gate guard, security patrols in the parking lot.
