Year Purchased: 2001
About the owner: I am a writer, and have lived year-round in Provincetown for thirty years.
Why the Owner Chose Provincetown: This compound, formerly the artist Robert Motherwell's studios, has been inhabited by artists, writers, and various thinkers since it was built in 1900. The neighborhood embodies Provincetown as it once was: architecturally intact, friendly, quiet. But it is the expansiveness and beauty of the harbor- the outside of the building rather than what the building contained- that captured us then, and continues to hold us now.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo: Though the chaos of Provincetown is just a short walk away, stepping onto the deck is an exhale without end. Laying on the bed is like being on a boat out of the weather. Its intimate relationship with the water makes this place like no other, as close as you can be to it without actually getting wet!
