This was an excellent place for the two of us. All features and amenities of the cottage exceeded our expectations. The bed was very comfortable, the deep tub a luxury, and the original art added a very nice ambience. Location was great as we could walk to the beach, shops, and dining. A great spot if you are looking for a casual and cozy spot in a quiet village with the most spectacular scenery all around. We will return!

We really enjoyed our stay at Cher's cottage. The hummingbirds visited non-stop and our Maltese Star is still trying to figure out what they were. <G> The cottage is everything we hoped it would be for our week stay. The only missing touch was not having a gas or charcoal grill to use. The large wall flat screen TV was great too! We highly recommend this cottage for any couple.

Owner response: I'm glad your stay was so pleasant, right down to the birds at the feeder. I've always gotten such positive responses about our wildlife and nature and always keep the feeders stocked, as well as the typical things like paper towels, soaps and clean fresh linens. I'll look into getting a bbq. Cheers, Cher.
Great little cottage in Empire. The owners were very helpful, the cottage had lots of little interesting features, including glasswork done by the owner. Very close to the small town of Empire and right near a really nice public beach. The cottage was a perfect base to explore sleeping bear dunes and the surrounding area. Would recommend to others and would return ourselves.

Owner response: I'm so glad you had a great time, hope to see you again next year! Nobody has ever said they really liked my sinks, that touched my heart. cheers!
We had a really enjoyable time staying in Cozy Cottage. It is nicely rustic and has all the amenities that one would require from kitchen utensils to lovely artistic decor. The bed (water!) is really comfortable. Only 3 blocks from the main street and then on to the beach it is well located. A walk up the hill takes you to Empire Bluff trail and picture postcard views. Empire itself is a lovely village with friendly people and a very clean beach. Close to other attractions in the area such as the Dune Climb, Glen Haven and other walks. Half hour drive south of Leland, which is also well worth a visit. Would highly recommend.

Year Purchased: 1998
About the owner: We have lived in Empire since 1977. We found Leelanau County when we honeymooned here. It only took us a few weeks to move to Empire and start new lives in the place that took our breath away. That's a lot of fires on the beach, watching the sun go down. Snowshoeing, skiing, swimming, hiking, sunbathing, we've done it all. It's Our vacation spot that we happen to live in.
Why the Owner Chose Empire:
We purchased this home when it was a mere 111 years old. In the following years we have remodeled every room, and added a couple just like all of the previous owners have. It inspires us!
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
This is a great little home with fantastic neighbors. It's on a quite street with a casual setting that allows time for the important things in life, like the beach!!
