Point Arena is located on the rural, rugged coastline of Northern California's beautiful 'North Coast.'
Stay in the upstairs flat of this beautifully restored 'Farm Victorian' built prior to 1900. The restoration upgraded the interior to include all modern conveniences, yet maintained all of the original charm. The exterior was brought back to life, yet kept architecturally authentic to the era. We are located at the end of the street and look out upon a hillside and open woodland. Listen and you can hear the sounds of the creek hidden in the willows.
Walk two minutes to historic Main Street. Try Frannie's Cup and Saucer, a world class bakery, or dine at Uneda featuring fresh, local menus, wonderfully prepared. Catch live music or a movie at the 1930's Art Deco style theatre. Walk or drive the 1.4 miles down to Arena Cove, an active fishing hub; you can fish from the pier or dive for abalone in season (please check current fish and game regulations). Pizza up at Pizzas and Cream, chowder down at the Chowder House upstairs. Have a great cup of coffee or some of the best sandwiches anywhere at Cove Coffee.
Drive out to Point Arena Lighthouse and climb to the top; there are breath-taking views on a clear day. Or just cruise and sight-see along Highway One, known as one of the world's most beautiful drives. Check out Bowling Ball Beach south of Point Arena (minus tide only) and explore a truly unique geological anomaly. For great dining, St. Orres Restaurant is 15 minutes south of Point Arena. Try it, you'll like it. Ah, the North Coast, chill out or thrill out, either way enjoy your stay.
