We stayed here with my husband's two daughters and their husbands and a grandchild. This is a great home for family gatherings and worked very well with a toddler because there are no stairs indoors and lots of room to run around.. We each had our own bathroom and full bedroom (no couch sleeping here). The kitchen is fully equipped, except for a coffee grinder, so bring ground coffee. Lots of dishes and glasses and cutlery and cooking equipment. TVs are simple to use, although we did not use the DVD. The back garden, complete with spa, provides a great sanctuary. Attention to detail is everywhere, from the planters to the toiletries. Easy to walk to the "business" district in Coupeville and easy to get to Highway 20 to go other places on the island. I would have listed this as an Excellent place to stay, except the beds were uncomfortable for all of us. If you like soft beds, you will like these. I personally also do not like sleeping on memory foam, but I recognize that many people do. The linens were very nice, though. So, personal preference regarding memory foam and soft beds keep this rating as a Good. Otherwise, a wonderful place to meet, cook, and hang out together!

Owner response: I am glad your family enjoyed your trip. I am sorry that the beds were too soft for your liking. Costco mattresses are usually middle of the road but as you said not everyone enjoys a spring mattress with a form top. I will keep it in mind when prosective guest's inquire about the mattresses. Thank you for taking the time for your review and input.
Came for a wedding, stayed for the hot tub
Came for a wedding, stayed for the hot tub
I recently rented this place with two other couples for an august weekend in which a friend of mine was getting married on the island. The house was absolutely perfect for the weekend. There was plenty of space for everyone to have enough privacy while also have a beautiful patio & hot tub deck as well as a spacious living are for everyone to relax and hang out. Both mornings we all woke up and cooked together in the large kitchen and after both evenings festivities we all convened in the hot tub for a soak before bed time. The house is a very short walk from the waterfront & shops but one can also easily walk south over the highway to the red apple market. We had booked this place a bit late after other plans had fallen through and the owner handled everything wonderfully making getting in, cleaning up and locking up a breeze. I would highly reccomend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend in Coupeville.

We recently stayed here with out of town family and can't say enough about this gem. Besides being one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed, the decor and furnishings were Extremely comfortable. Spacious kitchen, three recently redone bathrooms, wifi access, TVs, Hot tub, and walking distance from downtown Coupeville. This website doesn't do this home Justice - we loved it.

My husband and I have had the pleasure of enjoying the last few months located close to town and yet off the beaten path. Within walking distance to trails and many beautiful sites, driving distance for easy access to Port Townsend, Fort Casey, Deception Pass and Ebey Trails. Highly recommend for its wonderful kitchen with many ammenities as well as 3 bedrooms and baths to accomodate a large family. Owner is wonderful and has taken such care to make sure our stay was pleasant.

Year Purchased: 2007
About the owner: I retired to Whidbey Island - Coupeville in 2004 after 27 years as an accountant for the State of California. In June 2005 my boyfriend purchased the Coupeville Inn and I helped him restore and upgrade the Inn. I am still active in the workings of the hospitality business. I also have a Vintage Jewelry and Collectible business at the Inn
Why the Owner Chose Coupeville:
We settled in this area due to the wonderful boating in Puget Sound. We also enjoy hiking, crabbing, canning the wonderful local blackberries, antiquing , dining out and visiting the wonderful people on Whidbey.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
I fell in love with this home the minute I stepped over the threshold. The open feeling with the cozy bedrooms were perfect for me. The backyard is private with a wonderful covered deck and hot tub perfect for quiet time but also a great layout for a fun group gathering.
