This newly built 800+ square foot studio apartment is eclectically finished and fully furnished. Located on a quiet 7 acres and only 8 miles from downtown Eugene and the University of Oregon, this is a country setting get away that makes you feel like the hustle and bustle of town is much further away. The studio is above our garage and has tranquil views of the property and surrounding woods and has been described as feeling like you are in the trees. There is one large newly carpeted bedroom with a mid century funky wardrobe and vanity, a queen size bed and comfortable double futon. The linens are 100% cotton, the main floors are hardwood cherry and the bathroom floor is a warm European tiled cork. The kitchenette has concrete counters and a bamboo island with teak hardwood top. The vaulted ceilings and efficient, modern design give the studio a spacious open feeling that is welcoming, interesting and comfortable. Wake up to the swirling melodic song of the Swainsons Thrush instead of the intrusion of efficient but untimely hotel housekeepers, misdirected wake up calls or the vocal parade of early exiting varsity team members. No need to make sure you get up before the sun to secure your 'favorite' continental breakfast selection when you thought ahead and brought something much better with you and have it waiting a mere 15 feet away in your own convenient kitchen. We do supply a complimentary selection of Keurig single serving coffees, teas and other hot drinks to get you off to a good start.
There are a number of wineries and vineyards very close by, the most popular being King Estate, just 12 miles away. My other favorites not far from the house include Sweet Cheeks and Territorial Vineyards. Sweet Cheeks is set up for wine tasting with an amazing view and patio that makes a wonderful setting for a picnic. Territorial Vinyards has a nice wine tasting room in downtown Eugene, but don't limit yourself to those three. This area is world renowned for its Pinot Noirs and there are too many great ones within an hour or less drive to mention. If you are coming to town for Duck sports, the campus is less than 10 miles away.

The Oregon coast is a must see. Florence on the Oregon coast is about 1 hour drive west. If you are looking for an amazing, clean, efficient, comfortable, peaceful, cute, relaxing, safe place to stay - look no further. If you are looking for a great night's sleep - you've found the right place. It is not often I sleep as well or better when I'm away from home, but I sure did here! If you enjoy waking up to the gentle sound of birds and looking out your window onto a beautiful 'calendar-ish' view - this is your house. If you need to come to Eugene for a conference, a sporting event, a concert, or to visit friends and want a comfortable place to stay that is conveniently located - stay here. You will wake up in a beautiful peaceful setting - grab some hot coffee or tea - and be downtown within 10 minutes. This home is decorated so tastefully, the kitchen is perfect - everything you need is provided! Mia was incredibly welcoming - we so enjoyed the homemade blueberry jam on some English muffins we brought. Thank you, too, for the great restaurant recommendation - it was delicious! After dinner and a long day of meetings, it was nice to grab some ice cream and watch a bit of TV before turning in. If you are looking for a place to stay that is incredibly clean, well kept and adorable - pick this home. We loved it and would definitely stay here again! Thank you, again, for your hospitality. And thank you for sharing your little house in the woods with us. It was, simply said, perfect!

Upon arrival we were greeted by Sara, who was so nice and helpful. She took the time to give some restaurant recommendations and even brought over some menu's to look at. Once we settled in I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable and at home I felt. The Little House was just perfect. The property and surrounding areas are beautiful. I honestly wish I had more time to just hang out around the house. A word of warning to anyone who is attached to the internet, I brought along a portable hotspot and was still without service. If that is something that is important to you, you might want to check with your service provider. I was secretly happy to ditch the distraction. I loved staying in the Little House and I would not think twice about staying again. Beautiful, quiet, comfortable and accommodating. I could not have asked for any more. Thanks Mia & Sara p.s. After my departure they found a belt I had left behind and they graciously sent it back to me. Thanks again!

This studio was clean, bright and comfortable. Mia was very accomodating and even left coffee, chocolate and homemade jam for us.It seemed like a long way from town, but was really only 10 minutes. The only slight negative was when our son came by to do a little homework and there was no wifi. I've already recommended it to other Uof O parents.

When possible, we prefer VRBO to a hotel. This was our third experience. The location was great. About 10 minutes from the Amazon Parkway, which zips you to any Eugene location. The accommodations were excellent. Mia is a very nice person. We had everything we needed. Thanks Mia and thanks VRBO

I had the pleasure of staying in "little house in the woods" and it exceeded my expectations. Mia and Sara are not only delightful and attentive owners but wonderful and warm individuals. The guest house is much larger than we expected, brand new kitchen, comfortable bed and beautiful views out the back windows. We were greeted very warmly, invited to share an evening with the host and their guests and were given helpful info about the area. You are close to Eugene but feel you are in the country on their beautiful property. We are looking foward to going back again later this summer.

This place was the perfect getaway for my sister and I! The owners have thought of everything in this beautiful "little house" in the trees! We had many excursions planned and every day could not wait to come home! It was such a peaceful neighbor in the woods! Only 10 scenic minutes drive to OU and to the best patio/view winery around - Sweet Cheeks Winery is a must! We will be coming back for sure and would recommend it to anyone who wants to be pampered. The homemade cherry jam was a wonderful surprise and the fresh blueberries that we picked were sweet and juicy!

Really a lovely studio apartment situated in an attic above the garage. Very stylishly finished in a lush hillside setting. We rented it for one night so we could attend a wedding the following morning. Mia was very helpful in guiding us to their location as Google maps directions were a bit off. Our hosts added little touches like a jar of homemade jam, Keurig coffee, and containers of spring water. There was all the cookware and serving ware we'd need to make ourselves breakfast. The surrounding countryside is so quiet and so dark, it made for the most restful night's sleep I'd had in a while. We'd happily stay here again!

Owner response: Thanks, Kathleen! Now that you've had the cherry, come back and try our blueberry jam!

My friend and I stayed at this studio over a weekend in the spring and really enjoyed it. The vaulted ceilings, open layout and modern décor made it feel much more spacious than a traditional studio. It was our first time visiting Oregon and the quiet and lush countryside setting made us feel like we were really getting away from city life. A bird sanctuary and access to the 14 mile Ridgeline Trail with its hushed and moss covered woods over 1000 acres was an easy 1-2 mile uphill walk up the road from the studio. When we felt like getting out and about, we went into Eugene for the farmer’s market, coffee houses and restaurants as well as visiting the University of Oregon’s campus. The stunning coast (we went to Devil’s Churn) was perhaps an hour away and well worth the drive. I enjoyed this studio so much that I’ll be staying there this summer again. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing retreat with quick access to nature and to a university town.

                  Owner info

                  Year Purchased: 2006

About the owner: We have two friendly dogs on the property. We keep them inside and on leashes when you are visiting. Please let us know if dogs are a particular problem as they have been know to sneak out an open door or two and love to introduce themselves to new and interesting people.

                  Why the Owner Chose Eugene:
We bought this property in 2006 and built the 'Little House' as a guest house for our friends and family to enjoy when they came to visit. We wanted to give them the privacy of feeling like they were on their own vacation in the woods, as well as visiting us. The tag 'Little House' is a bit misleading as we are apparently seriously spatially challenged because it turned out much larger than it looked on paper. It is however, a smaller version of the main house so in theory, 'Little House' is approriate. We still live in the main house across the driveway but talk about moving into Little House every time we clean over there because we like it so much!

The Unique Benefits at this Studio:
We started building the little house a few years ago and wanted it to be an eco friendly structure. It is made of 'insulated concrete forms' which keeps it warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Because of the concrete and the insulation it is a solid structure and very quiet inside.
