  This was our first time on St John and the house was exactly what we were looking for. It was in very nice shape. The kitchen and bath are brand new and the set up is comfortable. The view was amazing and we loved waking up to it every morning. Caution for those who like to sleep late the rising sun comes right in to the bed every morning. We loved it and woke up early every day. The sliders in the living and dining area aren't the smoothest but not hard to open. Coral Bay is definitely for those who want to be away from it all as there is not a ton of restaurants and shopping close. The frogs at night were wonderful and slept with the windows open until 3am when the roosters started crowing. Then we closed them turned on a fan and went back to sleep. We would definitely stay here again. The new owners have done great work and I hear there is more in store which we look forward to seeing on our next stay. The driveway is steep but not bad once you get used to it. We had a jeep with 4wd. We only used the 4w when it was slippery from rain. Not for families with young kids or people who don't want to do any stairs. Great for honeymooners, married couples, family with a teen.

  Seawing went beyond our expectations! Amazing! The pictures of the villa are accurate, but the views are much better in person. The villa is comfortable, private and close to many great restaurants (Sweet Plantains is a must) and beaches. Every morning we would wake up and look out to beautiful panoramic views of Coral Bay right from bed! It's so beautiful, some mornings I wondered if I was still dreaming! The landscaping around the home is well done and the rock cliff wall highlighted by a spotlight near the hot tub is wonderful. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you would need and there is a nice grill on the back patio. In addition to all the wonderful amenities, there are a few books and a three-ring binder that provides useful information on many things about the island. We found a couple private and secluded beaches noted in the binder and in a book they provided. This was truly a little piece of heaven on earth.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

  We spent 8 wonderful days ay Seawing this past December. The house was great and views were spectacular. We loved the open floor plan. Instead of eating out each night, we cooked at home a few times. The kitchen had every possible utensil we could ever need!! We had a great time and will definitely return. Thank you so much.

  My husband and I rented Seawing also a decade ago, in Aug of 2002. Although at the time it needed alot of TLC, it has been our favorite place of the villas we have rented in St John. We especially love the decks, beautiful backyard patio area and the outside shower. Also it has one of the best locations in Coral Bay as easy access to the beaches and restaurants (and Skinny Legs!). We are excited to see that it is under new ownership and has been updated. It is indeed a very sweet villa and perfect for a special getaway. We are trying to figure out when we can take vacation this summer so we can plan a trip back to St John and back to Seawing!

  I left St. John this morning and am currently on the flight to the West Coast to go home. This past week, we stayed in another villa on St. John, because we didn't know that Seawing is back on the vacation rental market, and may not have been when we put in our reservations. Although this other Villa is wonderful, it's not Seawing. My wife and I spent a week at Seawing almost a decade ago - it was the most wonderfully romantic week of our life. Every time we drive by Seawing we talk about how, "Seawing is by far our favorite Villa on St. John." This morning as we were leaving the island, we passed Seawing, which ptompted my wife to tell the other two people on vacation with us about Seawing. She told them about how the front of the house seems open to the sea. We talked about the unique tiered layout that adds charm. We talked the fantastic front deck and how much we loved it. We reminisced about the back courtyard and shower. I'm excited to see that Seawing has new owners Andi love the improvements you are making. I'm sure I'll be staying soon. John

We feel very lucky to have been able to purchase the villa and have our dream of ownership fulfilled. We have just spent 2 weeks at the villa working with local contractors completing upgrades of a new custom-built mahogany kitchen, bath and the installation of a hot tub. The landscapers have done a staller job in restoring and improving the original gardens. The privacy of the mountainside hot tub with water views and the expansive ocean/island views from the deck linger in our minds even though we have left ST John. We have done our best to improve upon the villa while maintaining its unique character. We hope that you return to once again experience the spender of Seawing. Sincerely, Kathy & Frank

  We stayed for one glorious week at Sea Wing. We loved the privacy and the wonderful views of the sunrise over the East End and BVIs. Driveway is paved and easy access not like others we have stayed at. Short ride to beaches and restaurants. Great private garden patio with outside shower. House could use more fans, but a very comfortable home. Thank-you Cathy for the goodie basket and wine. We are looking forward our return visit!

  Owner response: Thank you! As you may know, we just took over ownership of the house and value the input you give. We just finished installing 4 new fans and are nearing the completion of installation of a hot tub in an area that will offer both privacy and dramatic views of the natural stone formations as well as direct water views. We have contracted with a local cabinet maker for a new kitchen and bathroom made of tropical hardwoods. Please come and stay again, we are sure you will love all the new updates. Frank & Kathy
