Hollywood Hills house description
Hidden from the street view, this walled and secured urban villa features a truly unique indoor-outdoor lifestyle. Upon entering the home, the city disappears and the feeling of relaxation prevails. You become present to the water features, gardens and pools. The home is designed with open and flowing interior space, integrated to the outdoor areas through glass and retracting doors, thus perfectly incorporating the Southern California indoor/outdoor lifestyle.
Sleek yet elegantly warm and cozy, this contemporary design features a large entrance courtyard, a spacious living and dining area with hardwood floors. The kitchen-den opens to the pool and patio highlighted by an outdoor living room and a separate guesthouse -- which is the third bedroom and bath with kitchenette. Throughout, the stylish furnishings are accented by fine art, exotic planting and designer lighting and color scheme. Flat screen televisions are located in the kitchen-den and each of the bedrooms.
Both the living room and the rear outdoor living room have working fireplaces and comfortable furnishings to relax on your lazy vacation days. The open floor plan leads from the entrance courtyard -- which is an outdoor living room -- though a wall of glass doors to the living room and the raised dining area. The flow continues to the fully equipped gourmet kitchen. It features an island which includes a bar separating the kitchen from the relaxed den which opens through french doors to the outdoor living room and pool. Lush greenery and artworks define the huge outdoor room. On one side is an outdoor covered seating area which is an ideal setting for partying and alfresco dining. Another area, raised slightly above the pool, provides chaises to relax by the pool. A side patio provides a barbecue and fresh herbs to clip for your gourmet dining.
Bedrooms in the main house include comfortable seating areas, carpeted floors and large closets. The master bedroom opens to the pool and rear outdoor living room through French doors and it includes an en suite bathroom with a sunken, spa tub, shower and steam. A washer and dryer are concealed and located on the bedroom hallway.
Central air provides added comfort, and the pool and spa can be heated. Uncovered parking is provided for two cars in tandem. Street parking is available for guests. The property is gated for added privacy and security.

Perfect House, Perfect Location!!!
Perfect House, Perfect Location!!!
To begin with, the owner and his assistant could not have been nicer or more helpful. We had asked about where we might find beach equipment rentals only to find on ou r arrival that Victoria had purchased beach towels and a cooler for us! Furthermore, we arrived to find a gift basket of fruit cheese and crackers along with quality wine and beer we were encouraged to feel free to enjoy. The location is great for touristy Los Angeles things, Beverly Hills, LA, studios, beaches, etc. Also, we spent a lot of time enjoying the sunny and private beautiful pool area, fires at night in th cool evenings and enjoyed meals outside on the private patio. Finally, the entire property is lushly landscaped and the property is in a quaint a d safe area of Hollywood.

Lovely oasis amidst the liveliness of Hollywood
Lovely oasis amidst the liveliness of Hollywood
Me and my family booked this home on our East to West coast trip and stayed for a week in Hollywood. At first I was trying to book us a home in the Hollywood Hills in order to have the view and a pool, but I had no succes and finding a suitable one. Since I definitely wanted a pool I booked this one after a few email conversations with Robert. I was a bit disappointed that we would not be staying in the Hills and would be missing the great view of L.A. But when we arrived, we were personally welcomed by Robert and his two assitents, Victoria and Gordon, presented a welcome basket, a stocked refrigerator, Roberts selfmade, unbelievably delicious truffel bonbons and a whole lot of hospitality from all. This being our first USA visit, we started to explore Hollywood and it turned out that the location was just about perfect. We were within a mile of Melrose, Santa Monica blvd, Hollywood blvd., Sunset, Pink's Hotdog's (must visit), Kat von Dee (L.A. Ink tv show), Fairfax Farmer's Market, The LA Grove mall (saw WIll Ferell shooting a movie there). When we would return home after a long day, the pool would give us very much pleasure and refreshment and in the evening we would turn on the yacuzzi and enjoy the nightsky. I was amazed that amidst of all the hectic and noise, this place would prove to be very quiet. So in the end I would say this was even a better choice than staying in the hills, since everything is so close, which would not have been the case in the Hills. The house itself is very stylish and tasteful decorated, a beautiful kitchen, audio system throughout the house, the poolhouse and even outside at the pool. There are 2 bedrooms in the house and outside there is a bedroom (actually it's more a studio, with bathroom, refrigerator, etc) in the poolhouse. All in all a very beautiful and stylish house. We would definitely want to return some day! And Robert, thank you are a great host!

Year Purchased: 1999
About: I have a great interest in interior design and architecture. Having traveled a great deal, I have come to appreciate certain design styles and spacial configuration in homes, especially with the courtyard homes of colonial Mexico. When I moved to Southern California, the perfect climate became an additional motivator to explore outdoor living design.
Why Hollywood Hills:
This particular house, I simply call Genesee. It was the fourth property which I had purchased and renovated in the area and, due to circumstance, became the property where I chose to live. Originally a duplex, Genesee was completely renovated and converted to a single family home. The swimming pool and outdoor living features were added within the last 4 years, but have become the defining elements for the lifestyle associated with Genesee.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
When at Genesee, you will naturally feel drawn to the water of the swimming pool. The salt waters of the pool are always warm due to the solar heating system. The gardens surrounding the pool are tropical and full of exotic surpasses, including pleasurable fragrances. An outdoor fireplace adjacent to the swimming pool provides the opportunity to further enhance the exotic feel of the backyard to that of a near spiritual experience.
