  We've travelled with our 15year old son and for us it was important that he's also his own area. The appartment has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms - very nice modern style. Also the kitchen, we used it only for preparing breakfast, but everything was there from freezer, dish washer, ceran cooking field - nice bar chairs for chatting when the other person prepares. The living room equiped with a dining area as well as a chilling area with TV - here you could only receive a view UK programs (would say this was the only min point for us - as the weather was bad and we've to stay more time in the appartment than planned). Also WIFI is available which is for business but also for kids extremely convenient. The whole building not too many appartments and therefore as well not too busy in the garden and the pool. The view to the see is great and to walk to the beach possible. So clearly we'll book this place again - as the standard is high and comparable with what you've at home. Hopefully next time we've more luck with the weather.

  We have just returned from a really lovely holiday at this apartment and resort. The accomodation was really good. Everything was to a very high standard and we were not disappointed. The kitchen had everything you needed if you were going to be self-catering. We actually ate out most evenings as we found it wasnt too expensive and the food was very good, We tried both restaurants on the beach . One was better than the other in our opinion but it all down to personal taste. There were lots of other beaches to explore all within a few kilometers of each other. We visited a few and again were delighted in what we found. The people were so friendly and appreciated our lame attempts at speaking Portugese. It was a very relaxing holiday. It was great to have a swimming pool literally just outside of the apartment. The beach was a few minutes walk away. John was very welcoming and made us feel as if we could contact him if we had anything he could help us with. The only criticism ,which was made by the female members of our family, was the absence of a full length mirror! I guess we can forgive that as the positives outweigh the negatives. We hope to return again and explore the area more.

  My husband and I stayed in the Amizade apartment June 15 - 22/12. The pictures on line are beautiful but are not of the Amizade apartment but are of one quite similar. The kitchen was almost identical to the one in the pictures (sink was on the opposite side). The living/diningroom was all in one huge room and was even nicer than in the pictures. The bedrooms were both tastefully decorated with modern linens and decor, while the pictures show more traditional linens. You can access the pool from the parking garage below. Not sure if we could have parked in the garage or not as we parked inside the complex's gates every day. Another option is to park just outside the gates of this complex. Lot's of parking choices nonetheless. John met us at the time we had arranged and there were no issues. He was easily available by email or by cell phone. The wi-fi worked fine and we were able to access our email and skype home often. The complex/unit is really a 5 min walk to the most beautiful sandy beach. Nice for walking and enjoying the sun and views. The pool is not heated but we could still swim in it.It took us a few days to find the garbage bins. They are in silver/metal smaller bins lined up on the right side of the road on Avenida Cristovao Columbo right around the corner from Avenida Fernão Magalhães (or vice versa). There is a really nice Intermarche supermarket a close drive away from the unit (maybe a 20 minute walk away). Lagos is maybe a 5 min drive away and is a really cute small town with a great marina. Lots of restaurants and some small shops but if you are looking for shopping drive to Albufeira or Portimao (Aqua Mall) or to Faro Mall. Beaches not as nice in these cities. If driving on the A22 highway keep in mind this is a toll highway. The charges can be payed after 48 hours and you have 5 days to pay at any local post office. Lagos has a CTT Post Office just down the road and to the left of the Intermarche supermarket. We drove to Seville Spain, to Faro and to Albufeira and it cost approximately 48 Euros. We ate twice on the Porto Da Mos Beach Campimar restaurant and really enjoyed the food. We had a bottle of house wine, an shrimp cocktail and two of the steak dishes for maybe 45 euros. The food was excellent. We also found a really fun and reasonable British restaurant/pub in Lagos called Rockefellows. Hamburgers are huge and steak, chicken wings and ribs are all great and quite reasonable. Apartment was amazing and we would stay there again

  Myself and my two teenage sons stayed at the apartment for 6 days in early April. The apartment is just how the pictures show it, everything feels brand new, very clean, great bathrooms, furnishings etc. Also the kitchen is very well equipped, not just the usual 4 plates you sometimes get with other accommodation. The view is lovely and the beach a few minutes walk down the hill. John was very flexible with our check in and out times which is great when you have an early morning or a late evening flight. I would it hesitate in recommending the apartment, a very high standard and good value for money!

  Thank you for a lovely holiday. The apartment was excellent in terms of position, layout and facilities. The view from the balcony over the sea was so relaxing. The superb beach was less than five minutes walk away although the path there was unfinished and a little steep. Porto de Mos is very much a work in progress and it will be a number of years before the development is completed. When we were there, in September, only one of the beach bars -Campimar- was open, but the service, atmosphere and food were excellent. Lagos with its vibrant night life and restaurants is only 25 minutes walk away and the taxi back was less than six euros. An excellent choice for those who want either a quiet holiday or a luxury base from which to explore this delightful part of the Algarve.

  Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

  We stayed in apartment J for 1 week in June and can honestly say it’s the best apartment we’ve stayed in. All fittings and furnishings are top quality with all mod cons. Air conditioning in both bedrooms and living room were brilliant for warm evenings. Both bathrooms are excellent and great power shower in one. Only minor thing was that my hairdryer (GB voltage) didn’t work nor my straighteners but bought a cheap hairdryer in Lagos centre for 10 euros. Washing machine was good for washing beach towels (4 times in 1 week) roof top area for clothes drying area with lines provided. Kitchen was top of the range with microwave, oven, toaster, coffee maker, fridge and half a freezer. Breakfasted on balcony every morning to sunshine and a sea view. One balcony overlooks the front of apartment and pool area and another at the kitchen and back bedroom areas. Each apartment has specific sun loungers so no wrangling over sunbeds at pool and umbrellas are readily available. Also a lovely garden area if you don’t want to sunbath beside the pool. Secure car parking on site as well as apartment safe in bedroom. It’s a short 5 minute walk to beach if you fancy a swim or just a stroll or you can easily do half day at pool and half day at beach. Owner lives nearby and is very helpful and accommodating, allowing us a late check-out on day of departure. To be honest I had initially wondered if pictures on website were too good be true but it was all genuine and its refreshing to have someone who isn’t out to skimp on quality or customer service. We ate one night in Antonios Restaurant down at beach with good food and reasonably priced. Also ate in a great restaurant called Veneza in Lagos centre there desserts are to die for, especially the hot flambé crepes! Would recommend car hire for location as its about a 30 minute walk into Lagos town. If your parking in the centre at night make sure you pay the parking meter, its 24 hours. On our first night we didn’t know and got a parking ticket although thankfully it was only 9 euros. Would not hesitate to recommend these apartments to families or couples. wanting to relax and unwind in quality accommodation. Its also convenient base for touring some lovely beaches near Vila Do Bispo.

  The accomodation is very new, clean and has excellent facilities, e.g. all the kitchen appliances were Siemens and included everything we needed. The description and pictures on the web accurately reflect what you see on arrival. We had our 10 month old baby daughter and were provided with a new cot and the owner even bought a brand new high chair for us to use which was better than the one we have at home! The pool area and gardens are well kept and during our stay were lovely and quiet during the day and night. We were also in easy walking distance of the beach and ate at each of the restaurants (although one is better than the other). We hired a car and would recommend visiting neighbouring beaches and travelling to Cape St Vincent and calling off at a few places on the way as it really is a beautiful place with a stunning coastline. Lagos town centre is also worth a visit and we went on a boat trip around the caves which was well worth 20 euros. John and Dina were very welcoming and information on the area was provided in the accomodation. My only nag was that it did take a few weeks for the return of our deposit but this is a minor thing in comparison to how much we enjoyed our holiday and staying in such nice accomodation. We would definitely return to Portugal after this visit.

  Splendid and classy 2 bedroom apartment and shows just like the pictures. Marble floors, air-conditioned and overlooking the Atlantic ocean. Beautiful Excellent service by Dina. She is there to help you get situated and can speak volumes about the town and the area. Nice location to go down nightly into Lagos and get near the action, yet secluded enough to feel you are in a special luxurious resort. Pool is lovely and the apartment is comfortable and easy. Having a television with some more working channels and Wifi for connection would be a great asset and cheap to add. We all loved it there.

  We are a young couple with our first baby and so this year we decided to choose vacation in Algarve. But we wanted something really quiet with beach or pool so we can relax and be all together and enjoy first newborn! We look for apartments but they weren't cosy enough or with the requirements necessary to be with a baby. So we found Porto de Mos holiday villas... just one word to describe everything: Wonderful! Beautiful apartment, warm welcomme, full equiped, brand new, swimming pool, beach really nearby! We just loved it! We certainly recommend it, and if we decide to spend some time in Algarve again, Porto de Mos will be the first option for sure!
