  My husband and I were in love with this rental the second we walked in the door. It was the perfect winter hideaway. We did a local hike to Coon Mountain, and drove around, but mostly stayed in the schoolhouse to relax, read, cook, watch DVDs, and talk. Cooking on the hot plate was fine, no issues. The place was immaculately clean. I would definitely rent this place again.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

  Thank you for sharing the "school house" with us - what a delightful little place! It was easy to find with the directions you provided and perfect for our needs. We were able to fix a simple dinner and enjoy a night in front of the fireplace after a long day in the car. Everything is so well thought out - extra blankets, the entry closet.. - we wish we could take this cottage home with us. Thanks again for a relaxing stay!

  Had a great time and enjoyed the property. Great accommodations and the owners were super nice and great to work with. I would definitely stay again if it is available when I head back to the Adirondacks. Everything was neat, clean, organized, and had a nice home but in the woods feeling. 5 stars to the owners for making a trip great with a nice place to stay.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

  This vacation home exceeded our expectations. There were so many little things that made the stay feel really comfortable. The owners/manager are really thoughtful and considerate - they even leave you multiple choices of bodywash and shampoo. As the previous reviewer mentioned, the bedroom is accessed by a ladder. If you do not feel comfortable climbing the ladder, the 2 purple day beds in the living room are really comfortable to sleep on; I think they were twin-size mattresses. There is a little BBQ grill outside of the home and every tool you'll ever need for it is provided (actually, every tool you'll ever need in the kitchen is also provided!) The supermarket is ~10-15 minutes drive away, and hiking routes are only a few minutes drive away as well. We really enjoyed our stay and we would whole-heartedly recommend this vacation home to our friends.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, sightseeing.

  The schoolhouse cabin was just as described, only better. Very nicely decorated with special touches like flowers on the front patio and various toiletry items in the bathroom. Cena (property manager) was very helpful, not only with the cabin but with answering our various questions about the surrounding area (such as where swimming holes are located, etc.) One thing people might be interested in knowing is that the loft is accessed by a "ladder" type of stairs. We were fine with that, but some people might have a problem with it. Also, the bed in the loft was very firm. I put a blanket down as a cushion because I like a little more padding on the bed. Overall, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend this rental.
