My friends and I can't say enough wonderful things about this property!! We are all spread out and it is hard to get together often, and this cottage was exactly what we were looking for on our grils getaway weekend! Julie and Adam are wonderful owners and their home is clean, comfortable and well stocked with everything you need. The pictures hardly do this property justice,we were so impressed with all the touches the owner gave the property to make their guests feel at home. The girls and I had a wonderful time relaxing on the dock, swimming, grilling, playing games, and just enjoying the scenery. The highlight was certainly sitting on the dock catching some amazing sunsets and then one night being treated to fireworks going on around the lake! We visited the Kings Ferry Winery and had a blast sampling the delicious local wines and the employees were friendly and made our visit special. If you are looking for a place to come and relax with friends or family look no further. We made some wonderful memories and we look forward to returning next summer! Thanks again Adam and Julie!

The cottage was a great place to get away and perfect for the family. The place had everything we needed for our visit from the kitchen to entertainment (tv,cable, radio) to the lake. The kayaks were great for the lake, life vests where on site and had multiple sizes. The dock has a great view of the lake and the surrounding valley, you can also fish off it or feed the ducks that visited us every morning! There are a ton of things to do in the local area; wineries, shopping, boat tours, and local restaurants. We will be going back next summer and highly recommend this cozy cottage along one of the best lakes I have ever visited!!

My family and I had a great time for the 4 days we spent at the cottage! The cottage has everything you could possibly need, including games, sheets, washer/dryer, etc. It is obvious that the Julie & Adam have thought of every detail! The cottage was wel kept and clean upon our arrival. Also, it is a great location and close to a handful of wineries. Approximately 20 mins from a grocery store and anything else you may need. The lake is beautiful and the sunsets from the back of the cottage are gorgeous. Everything you need to entertain is right at the cottage: a nice dock, fishing equipment, 2 kayaks, fire pit, picnic table. The only thing we wished we changed was that we stayed longer than 4 days! My family is already trying to determine when we can go back to stay for a week. This is a great vacation spot and is truly relaxing and includes all needed amenities. I would highly recommend this to anyone for a fabulous vacation spot/getaway for the weekend/relaxing time away!!

This lake cottage get away was just perfect. Relaxing, quite, , big shade tree in front yard to sit under to really enjoy the GORGEOUS sunset!!! nearby restaurant, very little traffic on level road to bicycle or walk along lake. Clean and comfortable. Photos accurately reflect the property. Bathroom is a bit small but perfectly useable. Owner has a booklet in the cottage of all the details you need to know !! Just a great place to really get away from it all. Fell asleep to the sound of waves hitting the shore -- does it get any better than that?? Like the beach without all the sand and people!! Even indoors you can enjoy the lake through the huge windows -- Would highly recommend this rental to families or most anyone I plan to rent the place again soon!!

My partner and I were visiting from NYC for a wedding. Wanting to making a little vacation out of it, we decided to rent this adorable lakeside cabin! It was absolutely wonderful! Perfectly cozy with spectacular grounds. Nothing more romantic than watching the sunset over the lake. And we had a blast with the kayaks. I definitely recommend for couples, families, and groups of friends. This property will not disappoint!

The only thing decent about this house was its location so close to the water. The opening to get into the tiny bathroom and shower is literally 14 inches wide. Once you turn sideways and squeeze in the water pressure is non existent. Barely a slight trickle. This is noted several times in the cottage guide book you read once you get there. Basically letting you know not to call the owners about it because nothing will be done about it. Along with the ridiculous water pressure there is the dishwasher that is broken, I assume will never work with the water pressure the way it is. Overall they could tear down the "cottage" and replace it with a tent, an air matress, and a port-a-pottie to provide guests with a better experience. I would recommend this property to no one ever.

Owner response: The renter who wrote this review is the first and only renter I have ever not refunded a security deposit back to. This renter violated 10 areas of the rental agreement, including damaging the property by unscrewing the front door from its hinges and leaving it that way, not cleaning the cottage or taking out the garbage prior to check out, smoking on the property, and having pets with him during his stay without paying the extra fee required for pets and leaving dog feces all over the lawn and a large dug hole by the shade tree in the front yard. From the tone of his review, his lack of respect for the cottage and the rental agreement that he agreed to is quite obvious. If you notice the date he posted this review, it also coinsides with the day he was notified that he would not be receiving his security deposit back. Prior to this time, he had not contacted the owner once, and this review was the first time I heard about any of his complaints. Regardless, just in case anyone gives this man any credibility, I will address his concerns. When he reserved the property, he told me that a member of his party was in a wheelchair and he had several questions about whether a wheelchair would fit into different places of the house. I specifically stated that a wheelchair would probably fit into the house but not into the bathroom or the shower and I also mentioned that the cottage is not considered handicap accessible. I make no qualms about the size of the cottage, as the square footage is listed and there are pictures of the bathroom on the website. Taking the front door off of its hinges without asking in order to get a person in a wheelchair into the home and then leaving the door that way is simply unacceptable, especially when he was notified that the cottage is not handicap accessible. It is true that the "how to" manual in the cottage states that the water pressure is low because the water comes uphill from the lake. This statement is written in the manual twice not because the owner is ignoring the situation, but because it is something that can not be rectified and it is just the way it is. I lived in this home for 8 years with the water pressure the same way then as it is now, as has every other renter who has stayed at the cottage and this is the first complaint I have ever received about it. This renter was also notified that the dishwasher was out of order prior to his stay, but again this is the first time I heard about his complaint.

We found this cottage to be exactly as advertised. We've stayed at a lot of vacation rentals that state they have everything you need, but don't. This rental however had everything you could possiblly need - including a first aid kit. Well stocked with cleaning and paper supplies and very clean. The sunsets were beautiful as they always are on Cayuga Lake.Neighbors are close but friendly. We rented a boat one day and played on the lake. Overall we had a good time and would recommend this cottage to future renters. Thanks again!

My best friend and 4 year old had a wonderful weekend at the lakeside cottage. The cottage is charming with well stocked kitchen and generally well maintained. The location is stunning and well located with easy access to Ithaca and surrounding towns. The neighbors were lovely and welcoming. it's a hugely welcoming cottage community. My daughter made friends with the little boy next store and was invited to his birthday party. While we were there, the dishwasher was broken and the propane for the gas grill ran out, but I understand from the owner that the prior guests trashed the place. All in all a great deal in a great location, and especially great for kids. We will be back.

Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children.

Owner response: After you checked out, my husband and I checked all of the connections on the gas grill. All were in proper working order and the propane tank was well over half full. However, to be sure another situation like this does not happen again in the future, we invested in another propane tank for the grill so that if the propane tank runs out while a renter is at the cottage, there will be a spare available for use. It is true that the renters who stayed prior to your stay did disrespect and abuse the property. I lined someone up to come look at the dishwasher after your stay so as to not interfere with your vacation plans. I am truly sorry for the inconvenience not having a functioning dishwashwer during your stay may have caused.

Staying at this cottage made our annual trip to the fingerlakes even more memorable than ever. The cozy feeling of the cottage, campfire by the lake every night, watching the sunset, and seeing fireworks over the lake were amazing. We could not have asked for a better, more relaxing time. Just the get-away from home we needed.

My wife and I were here for the week of July 4th and were exceptionally pleased with our stay. The cottage was very clean, with all the modern appliances one could need. Very comfortable. The days were hot, but we took advantage of the lake for many refreshing swims. The area itself is quiet, even though there are several other lake cottages close-by. (The neighbors directly next to us were away, so that helped). Also close-by is the King Ferry winery which makes some delicious wines. There are farmstands and a store nearby, so one does not have to go far away for provisons. It is about a half hour drive away Ithaca, which offers spectacular hiking. We had a great time and definitely want to return.
