My group consisted of a 6 year old grandson, son, 90 year old Aunt and me ( PLUS other family members throughout the week.). The house was clean and very comfortable.Various levels gave everyone privacy. We never even went down to the lower level family/game room. There were inviting decks for cook outs/dining but it was too cool in the evenings that week to take advantage of them . Cooking was fun indoors with all the input and just sitting around visiting while looking at the boats in Great Pond was very relaxing. There are plenty of nearby restaurants (fantastic seafood) I couldn't keep my grandson out of the warm Tidal Pools where he collected crabs, shrimp, minnows, shells, etc. for overnight study (released next day). The gravel road in front of the house was perfect for walks along Great Bay. (Next time I'll bring my windsurfer or kayak). The Atlantic is only a few blocks away by land or sea. The quiet, safe location was a short walk to shopping and the bus to Boston (no need to search for parking) or Woods Hole. Everyone could do what they wanted without a transportation problem. Ferries run regularly to Martha's Vineyard. We had cars that sat idle in the driveway. We ALL had a great time and will go back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

Follow up on my "Brothers & families disappearance" ... I just forgot to complete the sentence. They are all well and had as much fun as I did. They only did their own thing and we re-grouped for dinner each evening.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

This was an incredible find for our family! EVERYONE (from 6 to 90) had a great time! I couldn't get my 6 year old grandson out of the tidal pool (next to Great Pond) where he caught and released (next day) crabs, minnows, shrimp, etc.). We felt comfortable letting him explore as often as he wanted in this protected/safe environment. My 90 year old Aunt was able to take nice walks on the gravel "road" next to the water. My son took the free bus to Woods Hole and fished often from the nearby jettys and shores. We had cars but rarely bothered using them. I could escape to Boston (bus service just a mile away) I found out there is bus service from the airport ! My brothers & families disappeared The home was comfortably furnished with plenty of seating for our large group (inside or on the decks). Bring your bikes or kayak ! We never even thought about turning on a TV or watching a movie. We'll definitely go back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1985
About the owner: My husband and I and our 3 children bought this home to enjoy our summers on Cape Cod. Recently we moved to another nearby location but want to share our original great on- the- water spot with you in hopes that you will have as much fun and enjoyment as we did.
Why the Owner Chose Falmouth:
It is so close to many things that make a summer get away memorable. We loved the water view out of most windows in the home. We loved boating. You can launch your boat just up the street on the public landing. Shopping and restaurants are nearby. The downtown has wonderful restaurants and parks and special events all year round.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
A 1-1/4 mile mainly walking/biking road is in front of the home. People watching is interesting. The stairs in front of the home go directly down to the beach. It is a quiet and calm water beach. Checking out the sea life and watching the boating while beaching and swimming is great. Falmouth Mall with its dinner theater, TJMAXX, Homegoods, Walmart, and Shaws is just 3/4 mile away. Island Queen ferry to Martha's Vineyard is a quick day trip that you will always remember.
