Studio Jo - a modern space, surrounded by a rural setting and a stones throw from the water. Minutes from the quaint town of La Conner, but a world away from the hustle and bustle, Studio Jo is situated among tall firs, madronas and Skagit Bay. If you are looking for peace, tranquility, and natural beauty, Studio Jo is your thing.
In this stand-alone studio, you will find a queen bed with natural fiber bedding, plush cotton bath towels in the bathroom, a nicely stocked kitchenette-- including locally roasted coffee and herbal teas, and a breakfast nook with natural lighting to relax and enjoy your beverage of choice. If you choose to let in a bit of the outside world, there is a HD flat screen tv/DVD. (Cable television is not available at this time. Feel free to bring along DVD's. We also have a selection of DVD's in the studio!) There is a cozy sitting area to kick back and enjoy watching a movie, reading, or just relaxing with a glass of wine.
Overlooking the yard with native plants, grass and lounging chairs, the water/beach is mere steps away. Or take a walk along infamous Pull-N Be Damned road, the awe inspiring tree lined road that leads to self awareness and wonder.

I needed a quick getaway for just one night and Carol, the owner was happy to oblige me. Studio Jo is a quiet retreat of a very cool road called Pull & Be Damned Road. The minute I turned onto P&B Road, I knew I had made a good choice. Huge Maple trees lined the road and sparkling blue waters drifted in and out of the trees as I turned off to Dr. Joe Road. For the price, so reasonable, I got a studio all to myself that was very well outfitted - best bed I ever slept on. I got some great food at Nell Thorn in town and reheated in the microwave, had Carol's coffee and cream on the lawn outside. The beach was just a block down the road. I found many walking trails off P&B as well as the beach. Downtown La Conner is a must; I live so close and never spend time walking the shops along the riverfront. Very nice. I'll be back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

The studio has a motel room appeal-new and clean but without the motel amenities-no Internet or Air Conditioning or helpful desk clerk. I was especially disappointed with the kitchenette-it was really just a sink, refrigerator, microwave. A BBQ was not available so I could not cook the wonderful local salmon. The waterfront was not accessible-no swimming, fishing or kayaking. The owner was not as welcoming and helpful as I would have liked. Beware of the road system the speed limit is 25 MPH all the way into LaConner. I was slapped with a 247 dollar ticket.Recommended for: Sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for the feedback. You are correct-- I do not offer internet, air conditioning, a full size kitchen, or barbeque. None of these amenities were advertised on VRBO. If you had indicated on the many occasions we chatted that you wanted access to a barbeque I would have been happy to provide you with mine--just as I provided you with my own personal computer/internet in my home. But I will now provide a barbeque for the Studio. The water was, as I said in the welcome letter to you, steps away to public beach access. I welcomed you to use my backyard on the water, which you took advantage of at least once enjoying the beautiful sunset and taking pictures. I lent you new release movies I had rented/enjoyed. I was available with whatever you needed, and mentioned to you daily that if I could do anything or you had any questions I was happy to help. The speed limit in the area is 45 mph until you reach the residential homes, where it is clearly marked at 25mph. I am sorry you incurred the $247 dollar fine.

About the owner: I love La Conner, but I also enjoy exploring the Pacific Northwest. Where do I like to stay? I can go from a 5 star experience to a funky shabby chic beachfront cabin. I have an interior design and hospitality background which fits nicely with Studio Jo. Life Motto: Too much of a good thing can be wonderful (Mae West).
